The monster that attacked Jill was, of course, the nearly unkillable final boss from the Resident Evil 3 ga—the Nesis, also known as the "Pursuer."

Compared to the movie version, the ga version of Nesis was on a completely different level of power.

That's why Josh had sent Jill way more "starter gear" than usual right from the beginning.

He wasn't sure if Jill would still follow the original story and successfully defeat this terrifying creature. After all, the mont she connected to the Dinsional Trading System, her fate had already started to shift.

Unless Josh decided to switch to a different trading partner, it was better to make sure she had enough tools to stay alive.

"What exactly is this thing?" Jill cautiously approached the fallen Nesis. Once she saw that most of its head had been blasted off by the energy rifle and confird it was truly dead, she finally let out a breath and asked Josh.

"Nesis. A product of Umbrella's 'Pursuer Program.' Its goal is to eliminate all S.T.A.R.S. mbers in Raccoon City," Josh casually explained.

"How do you know so much about my world?" Jill asked, clearly curious.

"Because you're not the first Jill Valentine I've t," Josh replied. With lower-tier worlds like this one, he didn't bother hiding much. He explained that he'd connected with another parallel version of her world—not ntioning things like "movie" or "ga," of course, just calling it a different universe.

"Amazing. I'd really like to et my other self soday," Jill said in wonder. "And... thank you. If it weren't for you, I would've died right here."

"It's nothing. Just giving my trading partner a bit of a head start. But don't relax just yet—you've still got a lot to deal with," Josh said with a wave of his hand.

"A lot to deal with? Why?" Jill asked in confusion.

"You didn't think this thing showing up was just a one-ti event, did you? Try listening to what's happening outside." Josh shrugged.

Jill opened the window. Outside, she heard screaming, gunfire, explosions—the city was in chaos. Her face changed instantly.

"...The whole city... Damn it, I have to stop this!" she said urgently. Latest content published on novel(ꜰ)ire

"You're too late. The virus has already spread across Raccoon City. At this point, unless you destroy the entire city, it can't be stopped. And by the way, you've got three days at most—after that, the U.S. governnt is planning to wipe the city out completely," Josh said calmly.

"No... this can't be real. Isn't there another way?" Jill looked stunned.

"...Well, there is one way," Josh said, stroking his chin. "I could lend you a small army. With it, you could try to eliminate all infection sources in the city... but I'm pretty sure that would just scare the U.S. governnt and Umbrella even more—and they'd probably destroy the city even sooner."

He paused before adding, "Also, I don't think you can afford the cost of hiring a private army."

"A private army? What kind of army?" Jill asked cautiously.

Josh then showed her the basic version of his chanical soldiers and a few ground vehicles used for planetary operations—along with the price required to deploy them.

Josh also told Jill she could choose to rent only part of the army first—and if she could pay off part of the cost later, she could continue to rent more.

In a way, this ant that as long as she was bold enough, even Earth's limited resources could support a powerful army capable of ruling the entire planet.

"Forget I asked," Jill replied quickly.

Just like the movie version of Jill, this Jill had no interest in "conquering the world." In fact, her personality was a little softer than her movie counterpart, so she politely declined Josh's offer.

Josh didn't mind. He'd expected this outco. After all, the other Jill had made the sa decision in a similar situation.

Sure, his advice could have helped her grow faster and stronger—but if she had chosen that path, she wouldn't be the Jill he knew.

"It's a bit of a sha we couldn't work more closely, but still—I wish you good luck," Josh said, before giving her key information about Raccoon City: the location of the hospital and the underground lab, the fact that Nikolai was a traitor, and so details related to Resident Evil 2.

"Thank you. Your intel is really helpful," Jill said sincerely. After everything, she had co to fully trust him.

Josh stayed a little longer to watch Jill in action—fighting zombies in classic badass style—but eventually turned off the communication.

It wasn't that he didn't want to watch more, but his AI assistant, Pangu, notified him of an incoming call.

And it wasn't just anyone—it was from his daughter, Carol.

"What's the ergency, Carol?" Josh asked, puzzled as he answered the video call.

His daughter had grown more and more assertive and independent since becoming queen. Unless it was sothing serious—or unless Josh actively reached out—she rarely contacted him.

It left Josh with a faint sense of being a father whose daughter no longer needed him.

"Father, I've decided to take action against Germany," Carol said bluntly as soon as the screen lit up—dropping a bomb right away.

"Germany? Which Germany?" Josh asked, caught off guard. "You're starting a war?"

Everyone knew there were now two Germanys in the world.

"All of them. Even Prussia, which is currently under Polish control. But I wouldn't call it war—it's a political deal, plus a public vote. Everything will be legal. We'll bring those regions into the United Kingdom of Austria, fair and square." Carol lifted her chin proudly.

...What the hell was going on?

Josh was stunned for a mont.

But then sothing else caught his attention—sothing hanging around Carol's neck. A necklace he didn't recognize. Attached to it was a green pendant that looked very familiar...

It resembled the The Tablet of Life and Ti—a mysterious relic from the Thor movies that only appeared briefly as a hidden Easter egg, later revealed by fans.

That item was supposed to be in Odin's vault. So why was it on his daughter's neck?

Carol seed to notice where her father was looking. She quickly pulled her collar up a bit to hide the necklace.

But to Josh, that just made it look even more suspicious.
