In the clean and tidy hospital room, Vereesa slowly woke up. The next second she sat up straight on the bed and looked around carefully with alert eyes.

Wasn't I captured by those filthy trolls? Where am I?

Vereesa thought with confusion and suspicion as she looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings.

Although the civilization of the high elves had reached a very advanced level, and it was a special magical civilization, they were not like the blood elves who had interacted with the draenei civilization, stolen several draenei ships, and had a deep understanding of "technology."

So when faced with the high-tech hospital room, Vereesa naturally felt a little lost.

She scanned the room with her eyes, trying to find sothing she could use to protect herself, but found nothing.

Her embarrassing situation didn't last long, though. When the electronic door of the hospital room opened, a nurse walked in.

"*¥% (Human)?" Seeing the nurse, a strange word slipped out of Vereesa's mouth.

She didn't speak Thalassian, but the common language of the Eastern Kingdoms, the human language.

Unfortunately, Vereesa was unaware that she was no longer in her ho world. The human language of Azeroth was completely different from the human language of the Marvel Universe. She also didn't have a dinsional translator, a magical device that could automatically translate languages.

So the sister didn't understand a word she said.

And Vereesa couldn't understand the English the nurse was speaking.

The two talked back and forth for a while. Finally, under Vereesa's confused gaze, the nurse quickly left the room and returned a few minutes later with a tall human woman in a green leather jacket.

"Hello, beautiful creature!" Just as Vereesa was wondering how to communicate, a warm voice suddenly sounded in her mind, making her eyes widen in surprise.

"Yes, it's speaking. It's just a little telepathy trick," the human woman said with a gentle smile, using telepathy to talk to Vereesa.

"Hello, I'm Vereesa, a Quel'dorei. Which kingdom are you from? Where am I?" Vereesa asked urgently.

It had been several days since she had been captured by the trolls, and her sisters must be terribly worried by now!

"Kingdom? We don't really use that term anymore. As a whole, we're a special organization. But you—Quel'dorei? Is that the na of a planet?" the woman asked back.

"Wait... did you say... planet?" Now it was Vereesa's turn to be confused. "This isn't Azeroth?"

Even though the high elven kingdom hadn't explored "technology" to any great extent at that ti, their knowledge still far exceeded that of most of the races and nations of Azeroth.

The idea of a planet had long existed among the high elves—sothing that the human kingdoms of Azeroth could not compare to. Before the Dark Portal opened, the humans' idea of the world was still limited to "continents."

"Azeroth? Is that your planet? Of course not. You're on the Moon now, Earth's satellite. From what you're saying, you have humans on your planet too?" the human woman asked curiously.

After a long conversation, Vereesa finally understood her situation.

According to the woman, this place wasn't Azeroth, but a planet called Earth.

And it wasn't just Vereesa; so of her fellow elves who had been captured by the trolls had suddenly appeared at a human base on the moon.

These humans had never heard of Azeroth.

In other words, they had entered a completely unknown new world.

Yes, in the ancient teachings of Quel'Thalas, there was a concept of crossing worlds.

In the ancient upper elf kingdom, there were legendary mages known as Astral Mages. They had the power to travel to other worlds through their magical powers.

However, no Astral Mage had appeared since the War of the Ancients over ten thousand years ago.

Vereesa had only heard stories about them.

She never thought that she and a few of her companions would experience such a thing themselves.

Among the five elves who crossed over with her were two archmages. They confird that this world had nothing to do with Azeroth.

Because they couldn't sense the magic network at all.

In fact, not only the magic network—even the magical energy in the air was incredibly thin.

Fortunately, the human organization called Ouroboros treated them kindly, taking them in and explaining so basic facts about this world.

With nowhere else to go, Vereesa and her group naturally decided to join the organization.

During this ti, they t the leader of Ouroboros, Josh Kahn, a very gentle and powerful gentleman.

He even promised to help them find a way back ho.

Although Vereesa knew the chances were slim, she still felt a great deal of goodwill towards this human.

But just as Vereesa and her companions were beginning to get over their fear of the unknown and adjust to life in this world, trouble struck.

Magic addiction.

Before Arthas destroyed Quel'Thalas, there was no real concept of magic addiction among the high elves, or at least it was largely ignored.

After the great split of the elves during the War of the Ancients, the high elves had obtained a small vial of the Well of Eternity's water from Illidan Stormrage and built the Sunwell in the Eastern Kingdoms.

This allowed the high elves to avoid suffering from magic addiction like other branches of the highborne, such as Suramar and Eldre'Thalas (Dire Maul).

Also, whether or not soone suffered from magic addiction didn't depend on their profession, but rather on the environnt in which they lived.

For example, Vereesa was a ranger, but as an elf, she was still skilled in so magic. Having lived for years in Silvermoon, constantly surrounded by the powerful magical energy of the Sunwell, she too was vulnerable to magic addiction.

At first, Vereesa and the others didn't realize it.

But as ti passed, the two archmages were the first to feel the pain.

At first, they thought they had eaten sothing bad or contracted a disease.

But when Vereesa and the others also began to feel strange, one of the archmages realized that it might have sothing to do with the magic energy. The magic in this world was so thin that it was almost nonexistent.

Soon, as the symptoms of magic addiction worsened, Vereesa and the other four non-magician elves were able to endure it, though barely.

But the two archmages had begun to show signs of ntal confusion, madness, irritability, and severe weight loss.

Fortunately, at this critical mont, Josh Kahn, the human leader Vereesa had grown fond of, brought them so blue crystals that contained strange energy.

When the energy from the blue crystals entered their bodies, all the elves imdiately felt an overwhelming sense of relief, and the symptoms of magic addiction disappeared instantly.

"No, it's more than that. I can feel it—I'm stronger than before!" the two archmages, who had suffered greatly from magic addiction, said after recovering.

"...Does this an that we have to obey this Kahn person from now on to avoid the torture of magic addiction?" Vereesa couldn't help but ask.

The six high elves exchanged looks.

"That's not a bad thing... is it? We all know that the chances of us returning to our original world are almost zero. So if that's the case, what's wrong with swearing allegiance to a powerful and kind leader?" The only male among the six high elves spoke.

His na was Thalorien, an Arcane Engineer, a very rare profession among the high elves.
