This phrase doesn't just apply to relationships but is also quite fitting for politicians.
As the end of the year approached and the new United Nations General Assembly began, the countries of Great Britain, the United States, and France, which were once preparing for the Cold War, began to eagerly seek cooperation with Russia.
The purpose of this cooperation was to discuss how to deal with Wakanda and how to get their hands on the precious tal Vibranium.
Over the past six months, the wars waged by Britain and France against Wakanda have left them severely weakened. Adding to their troubles, are uprisings in their colonies and the need to support Greece and Turkey.
If they didn't get so interest back from Wakanda, they wouldn't be able to hold out much longer.
To solve this, Britain ca up with a proposal that could be considered very underhanded.
It was the infamous proposal to revive the Jewish nation!
In the original tiline, although Britain was the first to use Jewish nationalism for its own gain, by the end of World War II it was the Aricans who supported the Jewish state, and even Russia sided with the US. Britain had to side with the Zionists to rally support among Jews in the United States and Russia, hoping they could encourage their governnts to stay in the war until victory.)
The goal of both countries was to break Britain's monopoly over the Middle East, reduce their influence in the region, and prevent them from rising again using their colonies.
So when the UN passed the partition plan for Palestine, Britain, which should have supported the Jewish state, chose to abstain. In the first Arab-Israeli war, Britain supported the Arab League. Later, due to financial collapse and the need for help from the U.S., Britain stopped supporting the Arab League.
This eventually led to the creation of Israel, a Jewish State in the Middle East.
In this tiline, however, things were very different.
Because of Josh's actions behind the scenes, the Middle East didn't fall into chaos, but Africa did.
Especially with the ergence of Wakanda, a powerful nation with an important resource, Vibranium.
Its control of Vibranium made it coveted by every major power in the world.
Its military might, which defeated the British and French armies, made even Russia and the United States wary.
The British realized this and understood that they couldn't handle Wakanda alone, so they tead up with France and proposed giving two of their African colonies to the Jewish people for their nation.
These two colonies were Eritrea and Djibouti.
In later tis, 99% of people probably wouldn't know where these two countries were.
But in reality, these places were very close to each other, not far from Palestine, in the Middle East. They were on the northern tip of Ethiopia, separated from the Arabian Peninsula by the Red Sea. The location was strategically important because it controlled access from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean.
Djibouti is easier to deal with, with conditions about halfway acceptable, but Eritrea is different.
This region consists mainly of plateaus and plains, crossed by a large river called the Mareb. The climate is very pleasant and it is the wettest region in northeast Africa. It is also rich in mineral resources.
You could say it's a treasure land, which is why Ethiopia to the south has always valued this land highly.
However, in the original tiline, Eritrea didn't gain independence from Ethiopia until 1993. Due to various factors, it remained one of the least developed countries in the world until the 21st century.
When the British proposal ca out, the U.S. and Russia looked at each other and thought, "Hey, this could work."
This country is close to the Red Sea and close to the Middle East, which makes it convenient for the Jewish people to move there. It also allows them to provide aid and influence in the Middle East and North Africa.
It also conveniently blocks the route to the Red Sea from the north of what was once Ethiopia and is now Wakanda.
Allowing the Jewish people to establish their state in this region would cause trouble for Wakanda, but would not provoke the Arab nations, and might even gain their support—even though these two regions are actually part of the Arab bloc.
But the population is sparse and the impact on the Arab bloc is minimal, so the Arab nations didn't care.
The chaos in the African colonies made the U.S. and Russia feel that Britain, the old power, was weak. Therefore, they didn't care so much about weakening Britain and instead focused on Wakanda.
A black nation controlling resources that could change the global balance—no one wanted to see that.
Even Josh couldn't help but admire the British proposal—as he wasn't allied with the Jews, nor with the Wakandians. Letting them fight each other was brilliant, and wait till the ti was right to reap all the benefits.
No wonder it was the idea of the world's greatest troublemaker.
So the groups made their plans and it was settled.
As the ones being supported, the Jewish people had no choice.
In the original tiline, they could only establish a state in Palestine with Arica's support, but now both the US and Russia said it had to be Eritrea or nothing.
The Jewish people had no choice but to accept.
Fortunately, the land wasn't bad.
As for the war... didn't they have to fight in Palestine?
The Jews didn't care.
As for the local people in those two regions, nobody cared about their opinions.
In fact, the people there had a grudge against Ethiopia...
So the proposal was passed with a rare unanimous vote in the UN General Assembly.
As for the opponents... at this point, only Egypt, Liberia, and the original Ethiopia had seats in the UN from Africa.
But Egypt was still controlled by Britain, and while it was in Africa, it was part of the Arab bloc, so they didn't care about Wakanda.
Liberia was pro-U.S., so they wouldn't object.
As for Ethiopia, after it was taken over by Wakanda, it was kicked out of the UN, and Wakanda didn't even send representatives to that eting.
Thus, Wakanda strangely beca another world enemy, just like the Axis powers.
The CIA, as a newly ford major intelligence agency for the U.S., would obviously not miss the chaos that was being waged against Wakanda.
But Josh was more concerned with sothing else at the ti.
Yes, as 1947 arrived, Josh was about to enter a new new dinsional beacon.
This ti, the dinsion was made very quickly, but when he saw the figure across from him, he almost couldn't keep it together.
