The crystal mass dozens of ters high emitted a dazzling gleam under the concentrated heat rays of the puppet soldiers. The accumulated energy shredded the crystal pile resembling an elderly human, and the gray-black crystals exploded into countless fragnts, scattering like torrential rain over the crystalline forest—yet, just as before, monts later, another "Yun Qingzi" erged from the cracks in the distant ground.
Every crystal tree here, every cluster of crystals, every fissure underground is just a small part extended from the massive entity.
"We can’t fight this, Yu Sheng!" Erin scread while flailing her arms to command the remaining mass-produced puppets to maintain suppressive fire as quickly as possible. "This is way more ridiculous than giving the giant king a pedicure with a burning stick, okay!"
Yu Sheng’s brow furrowed as he realized that the entire crystalline forest was a massive living body and "Yun Qingzi" might just be a "mimic limb" extending from this body. He had to start considering whether to Retreat, yet for so reason, a vague unease lingered in his heart, making him feel like he had overlooked so detail and hesitated to make the retreat decision.
At that mont, whether due to the loss of too much blood or the "connection" established by the blood building up again, the constant haze and indistinct murmurs once again surged into his mind, even stronger than before, and amidst the haze and murmurs, sothing else appeared—
Yu Sheng instinctively raised his head, looking towards the sky above the crystalline forest.
A bizarre paleness covered everything in sight, as though everything around had lost its color. The distant starry sky once again turned into that twisted vortex state. Distant "Shuji" throbbed intensely in the center of the stellar vortex, like a heart, seemingly calling to this crystalline forest at Guard-3. At the edge of this crystalline forest, a translucent "limb," like a spiritual body, rose bit by bit into the sky, as if responding to Shuji’s call.
He bowed his head again, looking at his feet, and in the haze, his gaze seed to penetrate through thick rock and soil, seeing the intertwining crystal branches, fissures, and voids buried deep within the crust, seeing a heart like a crystal deeply buried underground. The heart had withered, yet there was sothing else... "clinging" to the heart’s surface.
The heart... or maybe the "alien substance" attached to the heart was speaking to him—
"It noticed you... Don’t let it transmit the ssage back!"
"Yu Sheng? Yu Sheng! Yu Sheng!"
A shout ca from beside his ear, followed by a pain from his head, and Yu Sheng awoke sharply to find Erin was chomping vigorously on his head.
"How about we retreat!" Erin shouted loudly, this ti not even bothering to initially mock Yu Sheng’s "daydreaming unto death", "With only what’s been freshly produced, we couldn’t outlast this whole ’forest’ even with that!"
The ringing in his ears buzzed loudly, the information glimpsed through the blood connection seed to drill around his mind like living creatures, seemingly actively spreading so contamination, but Yu Sheng only found the noise annoying, shook his head firmly to snap out of it, and quickly spoke: "No, we need to find a way to ’block’ this thing here."
"Block? Block what?" Erin didn’t understand for a mont, "Is sothing about to leave?"
"This ’forest’, it’s trying to transmit signals to Shuji," Yu Sheng hurriedly explained, "But sothing is still suppressing this process—it’s just that it won’t be able to suppress it for much longer. We have to co up with a way to stop this transmission process or else there will be big trouble on Shuji’s side!"
Erin was almost in tears: "That’s easy to say, but how do you fight this... I feel like it hasn’t even shown its health bar..."
Yu Sheng quickly pondered over this issue, then spoke: "These crystal cluster structures aren’t very strong; we tried earlier, even the largest structure can be shattered by brute force—it’s just that the ’forest’ is too wide in scope. Erin was instantly shocked: "...Wow! Such a waste!"

"Savior," Hu Li was surrounded by a faint Fox Fire, the gold-red eyes gleaming ominously in the firelight, "How about I give it a try?"
"Will you try?" Yu Sheng paused, "How to try? With a myriad of tails blasting simultaneously, saturating the entire forest at once? Even then, it might not be enough..."
"I have one more trick," Hu Li tilted her head, "taught by my mother, but I’ve never had a chance to use it—only when very full can it be used once, and it can only be used in open areas with sky."
Yu Sheng listened in surprise, as Hu Li seed unable to clearly describe what her "trick" was exactly, but looking at the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox’s serious deanor (though it wasn’t very clear, since her face was now furry), Yu Sheng decided to trust the girl’s judgnt.
"Then give it a try—what should we be cautious about? Is there anything we need to do?"
"After using this trick, I’ll be very hungry and temporarily unable to move, and later I might need help ’escaping’," Hu Li nodded, "but before that, you all should run far away... as far as possible."
Yu Sheng instinctively exchanged glances with Erin and Luna.

Yu Sheng raised his head and saw that bright spot in the sky continued to ascend—Hu Li was racing freely through the sky, in the blink of an eye breaking through the clouds, then further up, continuing to accelerate until it was invisible to the naked eye.

A chaotic resonance abruptly echoed in Yu Sheng’s mind, he saw the crystal forest suddenly "tremble" as if each individual was frantically writhing in an attempt to break free, then, he "saw" deep underground in the forest there was sothing violently swelling and wriggling, seemingly trying to imdiately break free from the layered constraints wrapped around the "Crystal Heart," and in the next second, his gaze was drawn to the sky—in the crystal forest’s "view," he suddenly saw Hu Li’s figure.
The enormous Silver White Demon Fox had already reached near-earth orbit.
Hu Li’s body expanded several tis over, a demon fox completely condensed from Foxfire stretched her Nine-tails in an angered expression like a fire lotus blossoming in space, intricate and mystical runes appeared at the end of each tail, with countless flas like living creatures swirling around her, ascending in the space beside her.
Then, the Nine-tailed Celestial Fox slowly adjusted its posture.
Nine tails were gathered, Foxfire condensed into an energy shell, the eerie radiance illuminated space, pointing to the planetary surface.
