Renn was in the lead as she and Ruby entered the warehouse to eliminate the six gargoyles inside. Their small beast forms hid their presence. It made it easy to hide in the shadows or behind large items stored inside the warehouse.

They rushed through the shadows with their green eyes dimd to hide their presence. They didn't want to green glow in their eyes to catch the attention of the gargoyles.

While moving toward the humans surrounded by gargoyles, they hid behind crates and large wooden barrels that were lined up and stacked, ready to be used. In each open space between the crates and barrels, they had to stop and check for danger.

Stopping at one stack after another as they moved closer to their destination. They peered into the open spaces, watching for danger while trying to remain as quiet as possible. Their goal was to get as close as they could to the humans and gargoyles before being seen by any of them.

Gargoyles had excellent vision, so they had to be extra careful. They weren't worried about the frightened humans. The humans were more worried about their own predicant to watch for small creatures rushing toward them. Ruby had to be extra careful. It was instinctive to shriek loudly as she ran. She couldn't do that in this situation. Like Renn, she had had to be as quiet as she could, not making a sound.

Renn and Ruby rushed down the aisles of crates, making their way to the area they needed to be. When they were finally there, they hid behind a crate that was only a foot away from the closest gargoyle.

As they hid, Renn and Ruby peeked around a large stack of items and assessed the situation before sending visual scenes to Drake of what was happening inside with the humans and the gargoyles that held them captive.

It allowed Drake to see that the humans were all sitting in a crystal circle with the six gargoyles standing around it. One of them wore a tunic that was longer than a regular shirt. It appeared to be a short robe. In his hand was a small staff that was longer than a wand. It was a gargoyle shaman.

"Kill the one in the robe first." Drake sent the instructions via their mind link to Renn. He even sent the image of which one he was speaking about.

After receiving Drake's instructions, she split off from Ruby and headed in the opposite direction, toward the gargoyle in robes. Ruby, understanding, headed toward one of the other gargoyles and waited for Renn to act.

Sneaking up to the shaman, Renn went behind him and transford into her regular form, catching the shaman off guard, then imdiately ripped out his neck. The shaman turned into a burst of light particles. It took less than a second.

As soon as the shaman was gone, Ruby transford herself and leaped into the action, going after one of the five remaining gargoyles. She stabbed her long-bladed tail into the neck of the gargoyle closest to her, killing him on the spot.

The remaining four split up into groups of two. Each pair headed toward a different beast. They had their weapons held tightly in their grips, ready to attack. Each had a wide, toothy grin. Their long fangs glead in the light of the torches that lit the warehouse.

As Ruby attacked one of the gargoyles in the pair closest to her, Renn leaped over the two about to attack her, heading for the second gargoyle that was about to attack Ruby. She was too fast, that Renn's attackers had no ti to react.

The gargoyle Renn was after didn't expect the attack, thinking that the other pair had attacked the other beast. Renn bit down on the creature's head, tearing it from its neck. It imdiately burst into light particles. At the sa ti, Ruby had clamped her massive pincers around her attacker's neck and squeezed. The gargoyle's head fell to the floor with a thud, killing it on the spot, and then it burst into light particles as well.

There were only two more to go. Both beasts turned around, facing the two remaining gargoyles. Their bright green eyes glowed with a nacing light as they stared down the pair of gargoyles.

These two gargoyles were far larger than the others had been. One of them carried twin battle axes, while the other had a long rusty sword. They grinned in unison at the two beasts, thinking it would be an easy fight. It was… just not for them.

Circling the pair of gargoyles, Ruby and Renn went in opposite directions, causing the pair of gargoyles to separate their attention; each gargoyle focused on a different beast.

As if in a dance, as one, Ruby and Renn changed form into their small beast forms and leaped onto the shoulders of their respective attackers. It was sothing neither of the gargoyles would have expected.

The mont they did, they bit down, then transford back into their beast forms, tearing through the gargoyle's neck at the sa ti. Clouds of light particles ford as the two large gargoyles fell to the floor dead. It took only a couple of seconds.

With their glowing eyes, they ignored the frightened humans and searched the warehouse for more gargoyles. Not finding any, they transford back into their small beast forms and rushed past the humans and back through the crack through which they had entered.

The entire battle had taken only a couple of minutes.

As they rushed back outside to where Drake was, he smiled down at them. "You two make a great team," Drake praised.
