Drake stood in the large garage and watched the n unload the truck. They were lining up pallets of items in neat rows, making a small walkway so they could inspect the contents of each pallet.
Renn and Ruby remained in their small beast form as they sat on Drake's shoulder and watched the n work.
Mike and Chad were at their own hos, preparing food and other supplies that they thought they might need. In Chad's case, it was probably coffee and sandwiches. For Mike, it was most likely baked goods. He had been complaining about not having muffins or cookies.
Drake didn't really care what food he had as long as it was sothing easy to make.
"You're already dressed. Are you planning on returning to Draco Town as soon as everything is ready?" Drake Sr. asked his son.
Watching the n unload the last pallet, Drake turned and walked toward the door that led inside the hours. "This is the fourth quest. Each ti, we've had to rush back for a crisis. I want to be ready so I don't have to stop and change my clothes before we leave. I want to leave, and not stop and do things first if there is an issue."
Drake Sr. watched his son enter the house. The door shut quietly behind him.
Drake entered the house. As he did, his friends entered the front door. Mike and Chad wore the dinsion gear, ready to return to Draco Town. The three of them had discussed it during their ride to and from the toy shop. They wanted to be ready to leave at a mont's notice.
The dinsion orb was still sitting on the table on its velvet pillow to protect the slick surface. After greeting his friends, he sat at the table and carefully picked up the small orb.
Silently, he questioned the orb. "Any trouble in the dinsion?"
A soft green mist filled the small orb. There as no pictures to show there was an issue. Drake smiled before returning the orb to its little velvet pillow.
His friends sat at the table with him, their gazes eting his, then going to the small orb. "Any issues?" Mike asked as he stroked his chin. He was growing a little stubble, which he was shaping into a goatee.
"No, it appears fine at the mont. I still want to get back. What about you two?"
"To be honest, I'm thinking of it as more of a ho than here," Mike shrugged.
Chad nodded in agreent. His gaze remained on the orb. He appeared deep in thought. "Sa."
At that mont, Drake Sr. ca out of the garage. They could hear the garage door closing through the crack in the door that led to the garage. The delivery must have finished. He had a book in his hand as he sat down at the table next to the boys. He held out the book to Drake.
Drake took the book and stored it with all the others in his storage cuff. "Thanks, Dad."
His father nodded before picking up the orb. "Your quests are different from the ones we went through. Either way, we can't help you. I will tell you that this next one is going to be… unique."
Mike and Chad exchanged a look. "Unique?" Mike asked.
Chad didn't say anything; he rely looked at Drake Sr. in question, wanting more information. It was information that he wouldn't get, though, because he didn't elaborate.
Drake sighed. "Unique… That tells that we have to do sothing other than finding an item. Unless it's not a tangible item." He shrugged. "When the quest activates, it will tell us what we need to do."
"What are you going to do about Bren?" Drake Sr. asked, changing the subject.
"Nothing. I gave him his letters and told him I would return after we finished the quest. We will collect the letters he wants to deliver for him, then. I figured I would wait for him to ask to return to Draco if he wants to. He may want to stay here. Without asking him directly, there isn't a way for to know what he wants to do. I don't want to complicate things for him," Drake sighed. "I'm not sure what to do if he asks to return to the dinsion. It's sothing that I know I will ask the dinsion for permission for if he does, but if it says no, that's where I have to make a decision."
Mike grumbled inwardly, but those sitting at the table could hear. "We talked about this. We have no choice but to do what the dinsion says. There would have to be a good reason for it to refuse Bren from returning to Draco. If it says no, then it could put everyone else in danger."
Chad nodded. "I agree with Mike."
The room fell silent. No one else spoke for a long ti.
"Is everything ready for us to return to the dinsion?" Drake asked.
"Yes." Drake Sr. nodded, staring at his son, trying to figure out what was bothering him.
Drake's gaze went to the wall clock. It was already 8 at night. "Let's get so rest and try to leave in the morning. I think we should all stay in one spot in case there is another issue that we have to leave imdiately to solve."
There were agreents all around. The issues they had to deal with so far were life-threatening to the residents. They all wanted to be able to leave quickly if sothing happened.
They finished their night with dinner, then went to bed early, still wearing their dinsion gear in case they had to leave at a mont's notice.
In the morning, they had all gotten out of bed and taken a quick shower. Breakfast was waiting for them when they went to the kitchen table.
Drake noticed the orb was still sitting where they had left it. It was sitting on its little velvet pillow in the middle of the table.
As he finished his breakfast, the orb began to glow a soft red. Drake felt nothing in his gut. Mike, however, grabbed his. All eyes went to him.
"Storm Town," Drake deduced. "It has to be Storm Town."
