Drake’s father watched as the artifacts of his father and his cohort’s fathers had vanished. They now stood in linen clothing, with no weapons or other items they had received in the dinsion. The dinsion had taken all of it away.

Drake’s father smiled. "As the current dinsion master, it is my duty to deal with you, and not my son’s. I will not send you back to the ordinary world. You do not deserve it."

Drake Sr.’s father sneered, glaring at his son, but didn’t speak. His cohort remained silent, unsure of what to do about the situation they had created.

Before he could comnt, Drake sat up, then helped his cohort to stand. Renn and Ruby transford into their beast forms and flanked their master as he and his cohort stood, then slowly walked toward their own fathers.

Drake’s eyes scanned the horde of beasts that prevented the three older n from moving. They didn’t attack. All they did was hinder their movent.

Smiling, Drake hugged his father, then turned to the three n who now stood in linen clothes. "The dinsion chose you a long ti ago to protect this place and everyone in it. Instead of doing your duty, you chose to lord over them instead. That isn’t our purpose. I’ve always understood that. It’s simple, really. The dinsion wants its inhabitants to be safe, regardless of whether they are human, beast, or sothing else. Our duty is to bring peace. Sotis those who harm need to be dealt with. You have beco what we are here to deal with. I’m only the heir. It’s my father’s duty. I will support whatever he decides. There’s a reason we don’t kill unless attacked. Those who attack aren’t keeping the peace, and they need to be dealt with."

Drake Sr. looked at his son with pride. He was exactly what the dinsion master was supposed to be. With only the third quest, he had already figured it out. It usually took twice that amount to figure out what the dinsion was teaching the heirs during the ascension quests.

The three detained n attempted to move toward their sons, but the beasts prevented them from moving, not allowing them to move even an inch.

The horde of beasts growled, hissed, and shrieked, pressing into the three older n. The beasts had successfully trapped the three n.

Drake Sr. turned to his father. "I will confine you in the depths of the dinsional prison. You won’t be able to escape. I won’t let you leave this dinsion, but you won’t interact with it either." After speaking, he slamd his staff into the ground, consuming the three older n in a bright green light. When it faded, they were gone.

"Where did you send them?" Drake asked his father. He heard him say he was sending them to the dinsional prison, but he didn’t know what or where it actually was.

Drake Sr. shrugged. "I sent them to the dinsional prison. Don’t worry, they can’t get out without magic. By the looks of them, the dinsion took all of their magic away. Think of the dinsional prison as a dinsional storage space that you have to call things into it or out of it."

Drake debated whether he should explain to his father what had happened. In the end, he chose not to say anything. Instead, he said, "Thanks, Dad. Thanks for coming to help us when we couldn’t do anything. He was too strong."

Drake Sr. smiled at his son, then bent forward to hug him. "We could only do things the dinsion allows. You are in the middle of one of the seven ascension quests, so we had to ask for permission to get involved. According to the dinsion, my father and his cohort were an issue that needed to be dealt with by the current dinsion master, and not the heirs."

As soon as Drake Sr. finished speaking, his cohort moved forward, standing next to him. He slamd his staff into the wet dirt. The bright green light flashed, then vanished. With it, so did Drake Sr. and his cohort.

Drake looked up at the sky and watched the clouds lighten, then fade away as if they were never there. The twin suns ward the area, swiftly drying the packed dirt road. The beasts stood in the road, their erald gaze at Drake.

"Thank you," Drake told the horde of beasts.

As one, the entire horde bowed before disappearing into the trees.

Chad and Mike stepped forward with Renn and Ruby flanking them.

"I guess we can continue to the river," Mike said, scratching his head as he spoke. His gaze stared down the road, which was shadowed by the dense trees.

Chad nodded.

Drake could tell that neither boy knew they had regained their power. "Yeah, let’s go. You should know you received more than your power back," Drake told them as he smiled.

Hearing what Drake had said, Mike pulled his sword out, filling it with energy, then his lightning. The lightning pulsed up and down the blade. He could feel that the power had grown. It had grown trendously. Mike grinned in satisfaction.

Seeing Mike could use his power, Chad tried his own. When he pulled an energy arrow, it was far brighter than it had been previously. He could tell that if he let it fly, it would be devastating to whatever it hit.

"If you haven’t guessed. The dinsion took away their power and gave it to us. We have our own power, as well as theirs." Drake looked down the road toward their destination before he continued. "Let’s get moving. I want to finish this quest before anything else happens."

At that, Drake and his cohort headed down the road toward their destination.

According to the ascension quest map, the river they needed was directly in front of them. The road led to a bridge that allowed people to cross. They were heading to the very bridge they needed to finish their quest.
