Dig Up the Sun Emperor's Legacy: I Build an Invincible Undead Legion Chapter 47: Copy Successful
"What do you want?"
The old man’s raspy voice croaked out as his gaze locked onto the Soul Crystal like it was his last hope.
"Hitus Spirit Undergarnt..."
"No way in hell!"
Before Carlos could finish, the old man slamd down the Soul Crystal with a stubborn look.
"That’s a precious gift Mansha gave to this old man!
Forget light red Soul Crystal—even red quality Soul Crystal is off the table!
Unless you can find..."
The old man then rattled off a huge list of precious material nas.
So could be gotten with enough cash;
So were in dangerous places requiring tons of ti to collect;
Others had been extinct for ages...
Carlos wasn’t about to agree to the old man’s demands. Forget just wanting to borrow it—even if he wanted to actually own it, he wouldn’t agree.
Raig’s collection quest was known by players as one of the ten worst quests, with absolutely terrible bang for your buck.
Plus, this old man’s character sucked.
In the original tiline, so player busted their ass collecting all the materials and gave them to this old man, thinking that would be the end of it.
Who knew the old man would try to back out of the reward, pissing off that player so much they nearly had a stroke.
"Shut it, Raig.
I only want to borrow the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt for 5 minutes, right here where you can watch, returning it right after 5 minutes."
Carlos impatiently cut off the old man’s endless rambling, stating his purpose.
Old Raig looked totally confused:
"Borrow? Five minutes?"
And right under his nose—what kind of weird request was this?
"You don’t want to? Then pretend I was never here."
Seeing Raig’s hesitation, Carlos made a move like he was calling off the deal.
The goal was to stop the old man from overthinking and make him decide fast.
Seeing Carlos didn’t seem to give a damn about this transaction and really planned to bail,
Raig couldn’t be bothered to figure out why Carlos knew he needed Soul Crystal or that he had the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt.
He quickly said:
"Deal, deal, this old man agrees to the trade!"
Soul Crystal was super important material for bringing his wife back.
For old Raig, the more the better—how could he pass up this chance?
Carlos stayed totally cool, pulling out a black box:
"Put the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt in this box. I’ll give it back after five minutes."
"Can this old man check..."
Raig carefully suggested.
"Nope. I guarantee with the Valois family na that your spirit equipnt won’t have any problems!"
As he spoke, Carlos pulled out a seal carved with the family crest, placing it in front of the old man.
"Valois family..."
Old Raig heard the word Valois and repeated it several tis, finally sighing.
"Take it, but rember—only 5 minutes!"
He waved his hand, and a white undergarnt appeared on the counter.
Woven from pure white threads of unknown material through complex craftsmanship.
Then a powerful arcane master had carefully inscribed reinforcent runes on it, finally nurturing special bonuses.
Just from looks alone, you could sense this white undergarnt’s mysterious extraordinary nature.
After Carlos got it and confird it was indeed the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt, he imdiately placed it in the sealed black box.
Then he ntally controlled the Fantasy Equipnt placed ahead of ti at the box’s bottom.
"Start copying!"
Inside the black box invisible to outsiders, black fluid started from the bottom, rapidly covering the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt until it was completely wrapped.
About 1 minute later, the black fluid pulled back from the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt,
gathering again and starting to transform...
Soon, an identical Hitus Spirit Undergarnt appeared in the black box!
Under old Raig’s intense staring at the black box, 5 minutes flew by as Carlos reached into the box.
"Copy successful!"
He was pumped inside but showed nothing on the outside.
Quietly storing the copied Fantasy Equipnt in his storage space.
Then he pulled out the original Hitus Spirit Undergarnt from the black box and put it on the counter.
Raig imdiately grabbed the Hitus Spirit Undergarnt, his withered hands creating hidden detection arrays.
After confirming the undergarnt was still his original piece, not switched out, and without any damage,
he looked really weird, extrely curious about the masked man’s purpose and what strange use that black box had.
"Deal’s done, Raig."
Carlos put away the black box and turned to leave without any intention of sticking around to chat.
"Creak!"
Watching Carlos walk out the wooden door, Raig shelved his confused thoughts.
He imdiately went to close the wooden door and hung a "temporarily closed" sign outside.
Then clutching the Soul Crystal, he impatiently headed down to the tavern’s secret basent...
Outside, after leaving the tavern, Carlos looked back with so mixed feelings.
"Raig, I hope next ti I see you, your research worked out.
Though it’ll only be half successful..."
Raig used supre alchemy human transmutation trying to bring his wife back.
In the original tiline, he ultimately succeeded, but only halfway.
After huge costs, he successfully created his wife’s body—a form identical to his mories.
But that body was empty inside, missing humanity’s most important part—the soul, like a mannequin.
After that, Raig used all kinds of forbidden experints trying to make the doll develop a soul...
The result was obvious—like most who chased forbidden research, he ultimately attracted extrely terrifying dinsional monsters’ attention.
No surprise, he mutated into a monster and was finally killed by human powerhouses.
Knowing everything, Carlos didn’t try to stop Raig’s research.
Because researching his wife’s revival was Raig’s only remaining reason for living—only death could stop him.
In theory, Carlos was ntally prepared for cleanup duty later.
After thinking it over briefly, he turned and left for ho.
...
Back in his room at the Valois estate, Carlos imdiately equipped the successfully copied Fantasy Equipnt.
[Hitus Spirit Undergarnt (Fantasy Equipnt)]
[Quality: Light Gold (Fantasy)]
[Durability: 45]
[Equipnt Requirents: Carlos Only]
[Special Bonuses: Skeleton Revival level 3, Bone Shield 3]
[Bone Shield Level 3: Consu Psionic Energy to create a hard bone shield that can block physical attacks. Toughness improves with level increases.]
"The original truly deserves light gold quality—a full 45 durability points!
This can tank most Mid-tier attacks! Even High-tier attacks would get seriously weakened!"
The most important reason Carlos decided to copy this spirit equipnt was this undergarnt’s super light weight.
Even with Carlos’s current stats, he could easily handle it.
"Unfortunately, light gold is the copying limit for Fantasy Equipnt."
With this undergarnt, Carlos’s safety got way better, though it unfortunately only covered his upper body.
