Chapter 200 - Truly Drunk

Gao Chuan had no idea how much he had drunk. He had been in the restroom vomiting for a long ti before he finally stopped. Jiang An alone had to exert a trendous effort to drag him to the couch to lie down.

Since she had already decided on divorce, she couldn’t keep entangling herself like this anymore. After hesitating for a while, Jiang An called Song Li.

It took Song Li about an hour to drive there. Following Jiang An’s directions, he helped the drunk man all the way to his car. Jiang An put on so clothes and followed them downstairs.

"Sister-in-law, don’t worry, I’ll make sure he gets ho safely," Song Li said as he helped the man into the backseat and closed the door before turning to Jiang An.

Hearing him still call her "sister-in-law," Jiang An couldn’t bother to correct him at the mont and was just about to caution Song Li to be careful on the way when he suddenly interrupted her.

"Sister-in-law, are you really going to divorce my brother?" Song Li asked her.

Since Jiang An had called him tonight to take Gao Chuan away, he naturally understood what was happening. Yet, he still wanted clarity.

Jiang An didn’t want to explain too much to Song Li and simply responded with a hum.

Song Li felt apprehensive. This couple had got married so abruptly, and now they were rushing into a divorce. He had never seen them act so capriciously.

Standing in front of the car, looking at Jiang An nodding her head, he hurriedly spoke up trying to defend Gao Chuan: "Sister-in-law, if you want a divorce because of Song Xin, let explain on Gao Chuan’s behalf. There really isn’t anything going on between them, I’ve known Gao Chuan since childhood and I can vouch for his character with my own life. He would never do anything to wrong you."

Listening to Song Li so eagerly trying to clear Gao Chuan’s na, after a long while, Jiang An expressionlessly nodded and replied softly, "I know."

"Sister-in-law, I’m worried that you—" Song Li, seeing her cool deanor, wanted to continue persuading her but was directly interrupted by Jiang An, "It’s getting late, you should take him back now."

Realizing her stance, Song Li forcibly held back his words, "Okay then, sister-in-law, you should also get so rest early."

The man got into the driver’s seat and Gao Chuan, who was lying curled up in the backseat, his handso face shrouded in shadows, seed to have fallen into a deep sleep.

Through the rearview mirror, seeing Gao Chuan’s cheeks faintly flush, Song Li thought it seed he really was drunk.

He also didn’t know what exactly had happened between the couple, for Jiang An to undergo such earth-shattering changes—it didn’t resemble the shy, easily bullied girl who once always hovered behind Gao Chuan.

Watching the situation unfold that night, he reckoned that things between the two of them were probably hanging by a thread now.

The next day, early morning.

When Gao Chuan opened his eyes, he realized he was already lying in his bed at ho. The man slowly sat up from bed, his head still spinning from last night’s bout of drinking. He patted his head, trying hard to recall what had happened; all he rembered was that he had gone to a bar alone, drunk a lot, and then went looking for Jiang An.

The man got out of bed and walked into the living room, only to find Song Li still soundly sleeping on the couch. He coldly approached and woke the sleeping man with a pat.

Startled by the movent beside him, Song Li opened his bleary eyes and, realizing it was Gao Chuan already standing by the couch, and still not fully awake, he removed the blanket draped over him from last night and irritably muttered, "What ti is it!"

Gao Chuan: "Did you bring back yesterday?"

Sitting on the couch, Song Li nodded and scratched the back of his head, only to hear the man standing beside him ask, "Where’s Jiang An?"

Last night’s mory isn’t very clear, but he still rembers going to find the girl, just doesn’t know why it ended up with Song Li sending him ho.

"You still have the nerve to talk, you got drunk last night and harassed sister-in-law, she had no choice but to call because she couldn’t handle you," Song Li vaguely responded, rubbing his eyes.

"Did I do anything?" Gao Chuan paused, then sat down on the sofa and asked in a deep voice.

Hearing him ask, Song Li smiled, lifted the corners of his mouth, and laughed, "Last night, you held onto sister-in-law’s toilet, continually ranting ’Jiang An, I won’t divorce, I won’t divorce.’"

While speaking, the man mimicked Gao Chuan’s expression at the ti with funny faces, which, caught by the man behind, led Gao Chuan to throw a punch at him.

"What did Jiang An say?" The man frowned and asked coldly.

Seeing his tense look, Song Li knew the man wanted to see Jiang An because he didn’t want a divorce, but rembering Jiang An’s indifferent attitude last night, it was likely that he didn’t agree.

"She didn’t say much, just asked to take you ho."

Upon hearing that, Gao Chuan’s face darkened, he ignored the man sitting on the sofa, went back to his room, changed into a tranquil set of clothes, and as Song Li saw him pacing as if he was about to leave, he asked where he was going.

The man coldly replied with just two words: "To work."

Song Li watched the man’s departing back and muttered quietly to himself, "He really has a big heart, thinking about work even when his wife is causing a fuss about divorce."

The interaction between the Gao and Song families had always been harmonious, and it was common for circles to mingle. Stuck at ho for many days, Song Xin was dragged out by friends to relax and noticed Ji Wanwan sitting not far from her, thinking about the embarrassnt caused by the couple half a month ago, she felt an inexplicable panic.

Ji Wanwan was a formidable figure, and Song Xin was aware of that, so after the woman entered, Song Xin kept her head down, not daring to look over.

However, as if Ji Wanwan had already targeted her, it didn’t take long for her to see the woman stride out and find soone to cover for her and directly followed her out.

Jiang An could swallow his pride, but she, as a sister-in-law, couldn’t bear it.

Just as Song Xin reached the washbasin and opened the tap, she raised her head only to find Ji Wanwan had sohow appeared behind her.

"What a coincidence, Ms. Song, did you enjoy your ti in Switzerland?" Ji Wanwan moved beside her, her face harboring a smile which made Song Xin shudder in fear at that mont.

Hearing her sarcastic question, Song Xin just wanted to turn around and walk away, but Ji Wanwan, as if intentionally not wanting to let her go, directly shoved her.

Song Xin didn’t react in ti and her entire back slamd against the wall behind her, she yelped in pain, glaring fiercely at the woman in front of her, and yelled at Ji Wanwan, "What are you doing!"
