Chapter 198: Confird as a Scumbag?

The next day.

Taking a rare day off, Gao Chuan drove to the hospital where his grandmother was staying and only realized Shen i was also there when he entered the ward. He silently walked in and placed the things he brought on the table.

Shen i saw him coming alone and imdiately asked: "Isn’t Anan with you?"

The tall man looked at the elderly woman still sleeping in bed, his lips twitched as he lied: "She’s at work today."

Shen i didn’t suspect anything upon hearing this and took the opportunity while grandma was still resting to pull Gao Chuan outside into the corridor, getting straight to the point: "You’ve been on business trips a lot recently, and I couldn’t get hold of you, now that you’re here, I need to say a few words."

Shen i crossed her arms, scrutinizing the man standing in front of her, she nagged relentlessly: "Your dad and I have no opposition to you and Anan keeping your marriage low profile, but don’t forget Anan’s status. Even if you’re interested in that Song Xin, you can’t do anything that would wrong Jiang An, understand?"

The incident from the wrap-up party had long reached the ears of her and her husband, and even though it was the younger people’s affair, they couldn’t ignore the plight of their daughter-in-law from the Gao Family who had been wronged outside.

Listening to Shen i dredging up old issues, and thinking that it might have been her and Jiang An discussing sothing in his absence, Gao Chuan’s response was irrelevant: "Did you go see Jiang An?"

Shen i saw him turning the questions back on her, confused: "What do you an by that? Can’t I et my own daughter-in-law now?"

Gao Chuan composed his thoughts and changed his question: "What did you say to Jiang An?"

Sensing the urgency in the man’s tone, Shen i couldn’t help but feel suspicious: "Did you and Anan have a fight?"

Caught by her accurate guess, he still pretended to be calm and replied, "No."

He and Jiang An’s plan for divorce was sothing he still couldn’t let his family know about, the man pondered.

Shen i looked at him half-doubtfully, "That’s good to hear. Right now grandma is at a crucial point. You all need to behave."

Gao Chuan stood silently, but ripples slowly began to stir in his heart.

Soon after, when the grandmother awoke, he imdiately shared his good news from Switzerland with her, making the elderly woman extrely delighted.

Finding a rare mont to sit down and chat, the old woman noticed Jiang An wasn’t with him and started asking, only to be fobbed off by Gao Chuan with the sa excuse.

"She hasn’t co to see this old lady for quite a while now. What has she been up to?" The grandmother looked sad, usually, Jiang An would co to see her whenever she had ti. It’s the first ti she hadn’t co for such a long period, causing the old lady so concern.

The man sitting beside her darkened his expression upon hearing this, but quickly reassured her: "She’s been quite busy at the hospital recently, I’ll bring her along next ti when she’s free."

The elderly woman, understanding that it was work-related, nodded, "It’s okay if the hospital is busy. Work is important."

Gao Chuan stayed in the hospital accompanying the elderly woman until noon before preparing to leave. Just as he walked out of the ward, he bumped into Ji Wanwan who ca to visit the elderly. Despite having announced her withdrawal from the industry, the woman still wore a hat and mask walking in the hospital.

Wanwan felt a surge of anger when she saw Gao Chuan approaching from the opposite direction; in her eyes, all of Jiang An’s suffering was because of this undeniable scumbag.

Gao Chuan originally hadn’t noticed the woman, but Wanwan suddenly rushed over with her bag swinging violently at him, cursing loudly, "Gao Chuan, you still dare to co back."

Reacting to this sudden attack, Gao Chuan identified the hysterical woman in front of him as Wanwan; instinctively he tried to dodge, yet she still chased him, swinging her bag at him.

"What are you making a scene for! This is a hospital," Gao Chuan sharply reminded her.

But once Wanwan detests soone, she has to give them a thorough dressing-down before she can let it go, staring at the seemingly righteous man in front of her and sneering coldly twice.

"I’m not just making a scene; I want to hit you!" she said, raising her hand to strike Gao Chuan’s face but he blocked it mid-air. He lowered his eyelids, glaring at the troubleso woman with a cold look, and spat out, "What’s gotten into you!"

Wanwan angrily shook off his hand, fire in her eyes, "I’m out of my mind? Gao Chuan, usually you prance around like you’re decent, but behind the scenes, you’re not a good person at all!"

Listening to her unfounded accusations, Gao Chuan furrowed his thick brows, his gaze indifferent, questioning what she ant.

"Don’t play dumb here, Jiang An must have been blind to marry you." Wanwan took a deep breath, her stomach churning in flas just thinking about what he did to Jiang An.

When Gao Chuan heard her ntion Jiang An, his alertness spiked, and he asked directly, "What’s wrong with Jiang An?"

Seeing his tense expression when ntioning Jiang An, Wanwan curled her lips into a cold smile, "You’re still pretending to be a loving role model, weren’t you considering Jiang An’s feelings when you were rolling in the sheets with Song Xin abroad!"

The sarcastic tone reached Gao Chuan’s ears, his face montarily stunned, listening to the woman in front of him malign him that way, a look of anxiety crossed his deep eyes, he blurted out, "What are you saying? Do you know sothing?"

Wanwan, used to two-timing n, looked at the still bewildered Gao Chuan, suddenly tilted her mouth corner, thinking the man in front of her was sowhat pitiful.

When Jiang An was discharged, she repeatedly made Wanwan promise not to tell Gao Chuan or their family mbers about her accidental miscarriage. Wanwan understood that Jiang An felt she had lost face to see Shen i and the others after losing their child.

But what about Gao Chuan?

Where was he while Jiang An lay on the operation table, hovering in the doors of death? He could have been abroad, spending a pleasant night with his mistress.

If Jiang An decided not to tell him, Gao Chuan might never know in his lifeti about the child that died before even being born. Wanwan mocked internally.

"I suggest you hurry up and find your Song Xin. I wish you whore and dog a long and miserable life together!" Wanwan spat out the anger in her heart deliberately in front of the man and just as she was about to walk away, she was stopped again by Gao Chuan, who, with a dark face, demanded, "What exactly happened? Tell clearly, what’s wrong with Jiang An?"

Wanwan glared at him rcilessly, "Don’t you have any idea what you’ve done? Gao Chuan, you’ll never be able to make it up to Anan in this lifeti."

After saying that, the woman walked away with her high heels clicking, leaving Gao Chuan still standing there, his eyebrows tightly furrowed.

If it really was as Wanwan said, and Jiang An misunderstood sothing that happened with Song Xin in Switzerland, leading her to ask him for a divorce.

But his relationship with Song Xin has always been clean; how can he explain to Jiang An to make her believe? Deep in his thoughts, the man felt an onset of a headache.
