Chapter 167 Jiang An, You’re Too Naive

Jiang An relayed to Ji Wanwan all the details about Song Xin’s visit to the office, while the woman leaned back on her chair, massaging her temples weakly.

"And then what? You really thought they were just classmates?" Ji Wanwan looked up at the girl who was still eating her salad with a fork, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes.

On hearing that, Jiang An’s movents paused. Indeed, she had thought so before, but today at her grandmother’s place, she found out Song Xin was Gao Chuan’s childhood sweetheart, who had grown up with him.

"Oh my God, Anan, can you wake up? Do you have any idea how Song Xin has been pestering Gao Chuan since they were kids?" Ji Wanwan couldn’t bear to watch the girl’s conflicted expression any longer. Clearly, this simple girl had no clue that a crisis was already upon her.

Jiang An looked at Ji Wanwan’s anxious deanor, her almond-shaped eyes slightly stunned.

Dr. Song has been pestering Dr. Gao since childhood?

Ji Wanwan saw the girl deep in thought, leaning in, trying to snap her out of it: "Silly girl, I’ve told you before, a handso and wealthy catch like your husband couldn’t possibly have been heart-stir free for the first thirty years of his life. Either he was hurt by soone, or he still has a white moonlight [unforgettable love] in his heart that he cannot forget."

Listening to Ji Wanwan’s seemingly well-reasoned analysis, Jiang An also rembered that a long ti ago, Ji Wanwan had ntioned to her that many daughters of prestigious families had eyed Dr. Gao with interest.

"Let tell you, this Song Xin is no small fry. I heard from Gao Yu that she started pestering Gao Chuan when she was little, even deliberately getting into dical College for Gao Chuan. These two lived together in the school for five years, do you think nothing happened between them?" Wanwan eagerly wanted to share the gossip she had dug up with Jiang An.

Hearing this, Jiang An’s heart suddenly tightened. Song Xin studied dicine because of Dr. Gao?

So, did they actually date during their ti at school, and did Dr. Gao lie to her before?

"Although your Dr. Gao never paid attention to that Song Xin, when I first joined the Gao Family, I heard that the two of them had an engagent, and even Song Xin shalessly climbed into Gao Chuan’s bed. But I don’t know why later Song Xin went abroad, and the previous engagent just fizzled out," Song Xin said, observing Jiang An’s expression closely. The girl was still staring wide-eyed as if she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.

Jiang An silently gripped her fork tighter, the amount of information that Ji Wanwan had just thrown at her was indeed overwhelming.

But after giving it so thought, even if the two had been together before, so what? Even if they had rolled in the sheets together, so what? That was all before she had t Dr. Gao.

Now, the one written beside Dr. Gao on the marriage certificate is her, not Song Xin.

"I believe in Dr. Gao." It was only after a long while that Jiang An finally spoke, but her eyes betrayed an undeniable sense of loss.

After all, knowing that Dr. Gao once had soone else, it was hard for her not to feel a bit upset.

Ji Wanwan heard the girl’s faint voice, feeling like she was about to go mad the next second. How could this girl be so naive?

"Sweetheart, this isn’t about whether you trust Gao Chuan or not. They indeed turned the page, but now Song Xin is back. If she decides to ddle and is dead set on breaking you two up, what chance do you think you stand?"

"Besides, you and Gao Chuan are in a sham marriage, right?" Wanwan crossed her arms, her tone devoid of any doubt.

Hearing the woman so bluntly puncture the sham marriage she had with Dr. Gao, Jiang An couldn’t help but look shocked, inadvertently giving herself away: "How do you know?"

Song Xin looked at her shocked face and snorted, "Your act is so fake, Gao Yu and I had already seen through it a long ti ago."

"Any clear-eyed person could tell. Of course, Song Xin couldn’t possibly fail to see it." Wanwan said with a sneer.

Although she didn’t know much about Gao Chuan either, rumors had inford her of his aloof nature. All these years, he had been pressed by his family to find a girlfriend and yet, he had not; then at the critical mont of his grandmother’s illness, he suddenly got a marriage certificate and had a flash marriage, and they couldn’t help but be suspicious.

Initially, she harbored doubts in her heart, but now, seeing Jiang An’s reaction, all beca clear.

Jiang An hadn’t expected that what she thought was a seamless cooperation with Dr. Gao had already been seen through by everyone.

"What do I do now?" Jiang An’s lips quivered as she stamred.

Initially, she and Dr. Gao had married first with the intention of love to follow. How could a few short months weigh against nearly twenty years of close companionship he had with Song Xin?

Ji Wanwan looked down disdainfully at the sowhat panicked Jiang An. Noticing that the girl was finally getting a clue, she directly asked, "Jiang An, tell the truth, have you fallen for Gao Chuan?"

Almost without hesitation, Jiang An nodded.

At the sa ti, she also felt sowhat confident that Dr. Gao had so fondness for her, though she wondered how deep it went.

Song Xin clapped her hands, "Then listen to , keep a firm hold on your man."

"How do I keep him?"

Ji Wanwan looked around, sat next to Jiang An, and whispered into her ear, "Song Xin, at best, is just an old lover. Technically, you are the legitimate wife."

"Now you’ve got to use so tactics to firmly grasp your Dr. Gao, to make him see that you are better than Song Xin," Ji Wanwan whispered.

Listening, Jiang An placed her hands on her knees and declared, "Dr. Gao is not the kind of man who is fickle with love."

If Dr. Gao were the type to be easily seduced and change his affections, he would have been unable to restrain himself long ago and wouldn’t have remained single until now.

Ji Wanwan, seeing Jiang An still speaking up for Gao Chuan, flicked her on the head, "Jiang An, you are too naive. It’s not that Dr. Gao is not fickle, but he can’t resist Song Xin if she’s set her heart on seducing him."

"Just do as I say and I guarantee Gao Chuan will only have eyes for you..."

Seducing n was sothing Song Xin was best at. If she couldn’t teach by example, she could still pass on a trick or two.

After all, Song Xin didn’t seem like an easy rival, and who knows what kind of trouble she would stir up between the two of them in the future.

Soone as naive as Jiang An would surely be played around by her.

"Do you feel that Gao Chuan has developed any feelings for you after being married for so long?" Song Xin probed.

These two, having been married for so ti, undoubtedly had the chance for affection to grow. Today, she could see through Gao Chuan; he appeared cold and abstemious on the surface, yet behind the scenes, he did sothing as rash as dragging a girl into a flash marriage to fool his family.

Ji Wanwan held back a surge of indignation. Gao Yu talked daily about how his brother was just inexperienced in worldly affairs but was a pretty good person. What a joke, didn’t he know how important marriage is to a woman?

Jiang An thought back on every little interaction with Gao Chuan since their marriage and hesitated before nodding slightly.

She thought, even if Dr. Gao did not love her that much, surely their constant companionship had bred so feelings, right?
