Chapter 136: Wear Your Badge Right

The flight the two of them were on departed early at nine o’clock the next morning, heading back to Jing City. From south to north, just getting off the plane, they were greeted by a chilly wind. The weather in Jing City was sowhat gloomy, the sky was grey as if it weren’t dayti.

Following Shen i’s direction, they went straight from the airport to the Gao Family. The man’s wound had eased a lot over nearly a week’s ti, and Shen i didn’t notice any clues, only preoccupied with asking about the couple’s honeymoon over the recent days. Satisfied only after hearing Jiang An saying it was a great experience, she nodded approvingly.

These days happened to be the New Year’s season, but the atmosphere at ho had been rather gloomy due to Grandma’s illness and a succession of cloudy days. The old lady’s health was declining day by day, leaving the family anxious.

Jiang An and Dr. Gao stayed with the bedridden Grandma all afternoon at the Gao Family’s ho until they went back to their place after dark, having had dinner.

Though it was a few days of running around under the guise of a honeymoon, it felt more like a spur-of-the-mont trip. Brief yet relaxed, it was, all things considered, a great experience.

Moreover, it was their first ti traveling together, making it significantly morable. Jiang An thought to herself as the man lying beside her began to snore softly.

In the darkness, the girl turned her head to look at the man’s sowhat blurry outline, slightly lifting the corners of her mouth before closing her eyes.

The honeymoon was over, and the Spring Festival holiday was still ongoing, soon they would have to return to their jobs.

During the holiday, a lot of work had accumulated at the hospital. As Jiang An entered the office, she found only Ren Lin there, organizing things at his desk. His usual grim expression finally shifted upon seeing Jiang An walk in. Having seen the news of Jiang An’s travel during the holiday season on social dia, he first inquired about her trip with concern.

After the small talk, Jiang An was puzzled by Ren Lin’s packing up of his desk. Before she could ask, she heard Ren Lin say: "You probably haven’t heard the news yet. Our ntor is going abroad for a research visit after the holiday and won’t be able to supervise our internship."

Upon hearing this, Jiang An’s heart skipped a beat, and she hurriedly took out her phone to check the ssages she had missed, and then noticed that Dr. Li had called her the day before yesterday when she was out, and she hadn’t answered.

Suddenly having to change ntors was undoubtedly bad news for Jiang An, as she seed to have gotten used to Dr. Li’s thods over the last month, and naturally, the sudden change was not easy to accept.

"We’re going to be split up. There seems to be a new doctor coming to supervise you, and I will be with Dr. Gao," inford Ren Lin, revealing the changes that happened during her few days off. Jiang An was a bit stunned to hear that Gao Chuan would be supervising him.

"Apparently, the new doctor is coming today and should be announced in the morning eting," Ren Lin continued, feeling uneasy about not only changing ntors but also being separated from Jiang An.

Not being able to share an office with Jiang An anymore, Ren Lin wondered if they could still keep in touch, thoughtfully placing down the stack of organized papers he was holding, and when he turned his head and saw Jiang An still confirming the news on her phone, his Adam’s apple bobbed slowly, and he called out, "Jiang An."

Looking up at him slightly, Jiang An t his gaze, showing a puzzled expression.

Holding the docunts in his hand, Ren Lin’s fingers unconsciously tightened, struggling for a mont with his words.

He didn’t know how to say it.

"I’m going to move to Dr. Gao’s office," Ren Lin said calmly, and Jiang An nodded naturally, as if it was sothing to be expected.

After all, with a change in ntor, it was certain they couldn’t continue to sit in the sa office.

As the two faced each other, a nurse called them to attend the morning eting. Jiang An quickly went to her desk to put on her white coat and hurried into the conference room, realizing that almost everyone from the departnt had arrived.

Sitting at the end of the round table was the chief of tumor surgery, and there was a woman in a sapphire blue coat standing next to him, bowing to everyone with a smile amidst a round of applause, while Jiang An, crouching slightly, took the last remaining seat.

The departnt head introduced the casually dressed woman as Song Xin, the new attending physician assigned to the departnt, an expert directly recruited by the dean after studying in the United Kingdom.

While the director was talking about Song Xin’s prestigious dical background, Jiang An listened attentively, her gaze inadvertently falling on the day’s protagonist. The woman, with her beautiful features and tall figure, appeared graceful even with a light makeup, her elegance imdiately apparent.

Truly, a preceptor who studied abroad, Jiang An joined everyone in clapping.

Amidst the applause, Song Xin briefly introduced herself, her gaze landing on Gao Chuan sitting on the other side of the departnt head. Gao Chuan, who was looking at a report during the eting, was suddenly ntioned by Song Xin, "I and your Deputy Director Gao were university classmates, so we are old acquaintances. I’m also sowhat familiar with City Hospital, and I hope that we can all get along well in the coming days."

Listening to Song Xin instantly getting familiar with Gao Chuan, the attendees couldn’t help but be awestruck, thinking that the person in front of them wouldn’t be so simple, personally invited by the dean and acquainted with Gao Chuan, the capability must be strong, surely this was a sign of major changes.

Jiang An listened to the nurses sitting next to her buzzing with discussions, silently watching the amiable Song Xin, feeling uncertain inside, sohow she felt that she had heard this na before.

The eting ended, and the departnt head personally introduced Song Xin into the office, where she just happened to fill Dr. Li’s position, willingly agreeing to take on an intern.

aning, Jiang An would beco her student.

The woman, stepping into the office in a pair of low-heeled shoes, was introduced by the departnt head to Jiang An as the intern she would be ntoring. Hearing that Jiang An also graduated from A University’s oncology departnt, she couldn’t help but show a delighted smile, offering her right hand graciously, "Turns out you’re my junior sister. I’m only a few batches senior to you, let’s help each other out."

Hearing this, Jiang An cooperated and shook hands with the woman. Initially uneasy about changing ntors, she felt relieved to find Song Xin so approachable.

"Hello, senior sister," Jiang An responded with a sweet smile, warmly.

Just as they finished shaking hands, Song Xin suddenly raised her hand to straighten the slightly askew badge on Jiang An’s chest. Surprised by her sudden motion, Song Xin had already withdrawn her hand, smiling and said, "Make sure to wear your badge properly!"

Jiang An looked up to see the gentle smile in Song Xin’s eyes, her face flushing, and softly said, "Thank you."

Her fondness for Song Xin increased spontaneously, and suddenly she didn’t feel so nervous anymore.
