Saul was ultimately taken away by the tall and short third-rank wizards.

They also brought Byron along.

After agreeing to this mandatory requirent, the two third-rank wizards beca much more accommodating.

They imdiately produced a carriage more luxurious than the one Saul was currently riding, and even the horses pulling it were the highest standard the Tribunal used for receiving guests.

However, Saul sat in the carriage looking at the two third-rank wizards guarding outside the cabin, knowing this carriage was rely a prison they had provided.

Since Saul and Byron had erged from another exit of the Borderland, when heading to the ultra-long-distance teleportation array to Nephret, they didn't pass through Dwarf Valley again. Though the distance was greater, the travel ti was about the sa.

Three days later, Saul's flying horse carriage arrived at Nephret Continent.

He and Byron stepped out of the carriage to find no one outside.

It seed that having torn off the mask, there were no false aristocratic reception activities this ti.

As soon as Saul and Byron got off the carriage, they were sent to a small castle on a cliff by the sea.

The castle walls were covered with green vines. If not by the Red Sea, it might have attracted quite a few seabirds to nest.

Unfortunately, there were no animals or people here. Even the lush foliage outside seed artificially painted on, lacking vibrant life and containing only rigid desolation.

After delivering Saul and Byron to the castle, the tall and short wizards guarded the entrance without following them inside.

Saul and Byron walked through the completely unlit corridor, lighting a ball of fire to illuminate their surroundings.

In this castle uninhabited for years, when light suddenly appeared, it didn't startle away any mosquitoes, snakes, or ants.

"This place really has no life at all." Saul withdrew his gaze and looked down at his feet, suddenly stopping again.

Byron imdiately noticed Saul's movent and followed his gaze downward, only then discovering that after lighting the torch, neither he nor Saul had any shadows!

"With light, how can there be no shadows?" Byron said quietly.

"Maybe the light is fake, maybe the shadows are fake, maybe the darkness is fake." Saul said casually.

The two passed through the not-very-long corridor and faced a black wooden double door.

The door already showed multiple signs of decay, with exposed breaks also black.

Saul peered inside through a gap and saw dark shadows swaying.

But under Saul's ntal power scan, he detected no living beings or spirits.

He stepped forward and kicked open the black door.

The already rotted wooden latch made a fragile breaking sound, swinging inward along the hinges and slamming against the inner wall with a "bang," then with the rebound force, the hinges completely broke and it fell crookedly to the ground.

The room imdiately filled with a large amount of dust.

"..." Byron looked at the door on the ground and lowered his head in silence.

Saul placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's fine, Senior. They've already imprisoned us here - should we still care about protecting the prison environnt?"

But Byron suddenly spoke: "You killed soone."

"?"

Saul quickly turned back. Under the door panel was empty space - no corpse, no blood.

But Saul didn't imdiately refute Byron. "You can see there's a person."

Byron still stared at the door panel. "My soul body tells there's nothing there, but my eyes tell there's a woman with a crushed skull."

But both Saul's eyes and spiritual body told him there was nothing there.

"Senior, in your eyes, are there other people here?"

Byron shook his head. "Very strange. I didn't see anyone at first either, but after this door collapsed, a corpse imdiately appeared under the door panel, and judging by the wounds, it was killed by the door panel just now."

Saul waved his hand pointing ahead. "In your eyes now, are there people here?"

Byron slowly shook his head. "No."

Saul imdiately raised his hand and shot out a Soul Blade.

The black broken blade flew from Saul's fingertip and embedded into the opposite wall, leaving a hole but making no sound.

But Byron's eyes slowly widened, as if seeing sothing incredible.

"Your spell... just shot through a man's skull!"

"Where?" Saul imdiately asked.

Byron imdiately used marking technique to mark a bright spot about five ters in front of them.

"Right there. I marked that man's forehead."

But when Saul looked over, it was still empty - only gray-black square stone slabs covered with dust.

"Which of us two is caught in an illusion?" Thinking of the swaying dark shadows he'd seen through the door crack before entering, Saul crossed his arms.

"It should be ." Byron rubbed his eyes. "I can still only see with my eyes."

At this mont, a voice suddenly rang out in this spacious hall that contained nothing but walls and floor, bringing with it echoes.

"I'm also curious why you can't see, Saul."

It was Frim's voice.

He was actually waiting for them here!

Saul's gaze wandered around the hall. This hall had no windows, and the only light source was the fireball in front of Byron and Saul.

Firelight flickered, alternating between bright and dim, but the room still had no shadows.

"Lord Frim, won't you show yourself? I'd very much like to discuss with you what you need to see."

"I'm already standing here." The voice ca from directly ahead.

"Ah!" Byron also looked ahead, appearing as if he really saw a person.

Saul squinted his eyes, trying to observe ahead using semi-imrsive ditation, but still saw no human figure.

"Since you can't see the previous scenes, naturally you can't see either." Frim's voice ca again.

Saul slowly lowered his hand, controlling a fate line to extend from his fingertip and slowly sweep across the front.

Still no results.

"I understand." Saul suddenly said. "You don't exist in this room. You exist in Senior Byron's eyes."

Byron's first reaction was to touch his own eyeballs, but he clearly felt no foreign objects.

Seeing Byron's movent, Saul shook his head. "My description just now was inaccurate. What exists in your eyes is only Chief Frim's image. So only your eyes see it, while other parts of your body and your soul body have no sensation." Read full story at novel⟡fire

Light normally couldn't be touched.

Though it could be sensed in other ways.

But Saul wasn't in a hurry to see the other party - he could hear Frim's voice anyway.

And perhaps not being able to see Frim's appearance was a good thing.

"I also don't know why I can't see you. Would you like to take my eyes for research?" Saul smiled slightly. Though he couldn't see Frim, his gaze remained fixed on where Frim should be.

"I didn't invite you here this ti to research your wizard body modification formula."

Saul frowned. "Then what do you need here for? Surely not just to imprison ?"

"Saul..." Frim's voice sounded sowhat heavy. "I hope you can help , help the Tribunal, help this world that's already approaching doomsday and tottering on the brink."
