Roo’s anger quickly simred down as he moved towards the girl, his eyes filled with surprise and joy.

"Hey," Rosemary smiled at him. "What did you ask to do again?"

"Co in?" Roo swiftly pulled her into his arms, greedily inhaling her scent. "You finally ca to see ."

"Ms. Rose also brought quite a few things for you," said Carl at the doorway, carrying a large bag.

"What is it?" Roo asked excitedly.

"Food, necessities, all sorts."

"Well, bring it in then." With just a glance from Roo, Carl imdiately brought the bag in.

"I’ll open this surprise later."

After saying this, Roo happily looked at the girl in his arms. "Why didn’t you tell in advance? I could’ve co down to et you."

"I wanted to surprise you."

"Indeed, it was both a surprise and a joy."

The displeasure from before had completely dissipated, replaced by a warm feeling of gratitude.

"You haven’t visited in a while," Roo said, cherishing the girl in front of him. "Will I get more surprises like this in the future?"

"Of course."

On the side, Belinda watched their interaction in disbelief, unable to trust her own eyes.

One minute he was furious with her, the next he was so tender with another girl.

His joy at the girl’s sudden visit was sothing she had never seen.

Who was this girl?

Could she be Mr. McMillian’s secret girlfriend?

But she looked so young, probably still in high school.

How could Mr. McMillian like such a girl?

"What happened?" Rosemary asked, looking concerned.

"The coffee she made for had sothing in it."

Following Roo’s gaze, Rosemary noticed the woman on the side looking sowhat disheveled. Her white blouse was stained with coffee, and three of her buttons were undone, as if deliberately so.

There were broken pieces of the coffee cup on the floor, along with black coffee.

Rosemary squatted down, dipped her finger into the coffee on the floor, and slled it. "Magic Elixir?"

A drop was rumored to make one feel euphoric. It was newly released on the market.

Belinda’s expression was slightly taken aback. She couldn’t believe the girl had such a keen sense of sll. But she would never admit to it. She shook her head. "I have no idea what you’re talking about."

"Weren’t you just discussing personnel changes?" Rosemary stood up and walked over to Belinda, her calm eyes radiating confidence. "Did you need to unbutton your shirt for that?"

"I don’t know why my buttons were undone."

In the face of Rosemary’s strong presence, Belinda was sowhat lacking in confidence.

"Anyone who is not properly dressed will not be allowed in this office," Rosemary said firmly. "You unbuttoned your shirt after you ca in."

Belinda hurriedly buttoned up her shirt, not daring to look into Rosemary’s eyes.

"Do you like him?" Rosemary asked preemptively.

Belinda cast a lingering glance at Roo. He was so captivating, even when he was angry.

She lifted her gaze, seemingly hesitant.

She instinctively wanted to say yes. He was not particularly handso, but he had a lot of money.

"What if he’s not ugly, but he’s a lot older—a pretty wealthy old man? Would you like him?"

Belinda’s eyes had a gleam of intrigue, as if to say, perhaps she would. After all, the old man was closer to the grave than the cradle, and his fortune would inevitably be hers.

"What if he’s not ugly, not old, not poor, but wheelchair-bound for life, yet he has a lot of money—would you choose him?"

Belinda pondered over it. Chances were, she would choose him.

"So, you’re not attracted to him. You’re attracted to the man in his position."

Rosemary saw through her intentions in an instant. "Whether it’s an old man, an ugly man, or a disabled man—as long as they are in this position with money and power—you like them."

Belinda was taken aback, her thoughts laid bare. She couldn’t believe it. How was that possible?

"If it’s a young, handso, and wealthy man like Roo, you’d definitely be more attracted."

Carl, who was present, took a sneak peek at his boss after hearing this—and sure enough, the corners of Roo’s mouth were curving upward.

"You better find soone else to fancy. He already has a girlfriend, and their relationship is quite stable."

Belinda’s face turned abruptly red.

"Now that you’re in this position, you can strive for many things on your own. Rely on yourself, and you’ll live more confidently, more proudly."

Belinda looked at the young girl in front of her, unable to believe how wise beyond her years she seed to be.

"Don’t underestimate Ms. Rose because of her youth. She knows a lot," Carl reminded.

Belinda suddenly understood. What Mr. McMillian liked wasn’t just youth. This girl must have exceptional qualities.

And the advantages she could present were pitifully few. Even her beauty seed to pale in comparison after eting this girl.

So, why would Mr. McMillian fancy her?

Why would he choose her over a younger, prettier, more insightful, and more capable girlfriend?

Belinda suddenly realized her mistake.

From the mont she chose to take the risk, she was wrong!

"Is the personnel change discussed?" Rosemary asked, lifting her gaze.

Belinda nodded, awkwardly replying, "It’s settled."

"Please leave."

After Belinda left, Rosemary was about to speak to Roo when Carl burst into applause. That was impressive!

"Get out." Roo found his assistant a tad annoying.

He personally brewed coffee for Rosemary and took out all the snacks from the pantry, placing them on the coffee table. "Choose whichever you like. I’ll open it for you."

Rosemary wasn’t expecting so many snacks in his office. As soon as she picked up a bag of chips, Roo imdiately opened it for her and even fed her a piece.

"It’s been a while since you’ve been here. They’re not as crispy."

Rosemary caught his drift. "So should I co more often?"

"Absolutely." Roo was instantly delighted.

At that mont, soone knocked on the door.

Roo said softly, "Eat slowly, there’s more in the pantry. If it’s not enough, I can fetch more."

After saying this, Roo then lifted his gaze and said, "Co in."
