Rosemary had just stepped out of the classroom when she spotted a familiar figure in the distance. What was he doing here?
Mya’s gaze t Roo’s. Just a second ago, she had been hugging Rosemary. The next second, she let go, stuttering, "I brought your girlfriend over. Bye." Rosemary watched her make a hasty exit, almost tripping over in the process. She couldn’t help but burst into laughter.
Rosemary asked, "What brought you here?"
"You should tell why haven’t you been responding to these past few days?" Roo asked, ignoring the stares from several girls around him. He touched Rosemary’s face, "You forget all about when you’re doing your experints."
Rosemary thought about it. Recently, she had been busy with her research. Either she hadn’t replied to ssages in ti, or she hadn’t picked up calls, or she had even reduced her nightly video chats.
"Co on, I have sothing to show you." Roo took her hand and led her away from the campus. Soon, they arrived at Roo’s recent place.
Rosemary followed him up to the third floor, where she was surprised that he had transford the entire floor into a giant transparent lab. The lab was equipped with dical devices purchased by Grandpa Beck at a hefty price and had various advanced equipnt. So of the equipnt was even more advanced than what Grandpa Beck had bought.
"What is this?"
"Now you’ll co over more often," Roo said, pulling her into the lab for a tour. "These equipnt are for dication research, analysis, production, etc., and everything here is top–notch."
Rosemary’s eyes swept over the dical equipnt. Her heart was pounding. If Grandpa Beck were here, they could start experinting right away.
Roo noticed that Rosemary’s eyes were sparkling. She seed more excited than when she saw him. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. Were these cold, unfeeling machines that great? Better than him?
Roo asked, "So, isn’t it ti for you to praise ?"
Roo was hoping for so complints, but instead, Rosemary tiptoed and kissed him, then she imdiately started a system, inputting today’s data for the system to analyze the pros and cons. This system could significantly save her ti waiting for results. She had always wanted to buy it but couldn’t bring herself to it due to its high price.
Roo was taken aback. When he returned to his senses, he saw her inputting strings of data. Every number and every symbol was familiar to her. Even more familiar than his phone number.
Her eyes were especially focused, staring at the screen as if waiting for a result that matched her expectations.
Roo found his gaze drawn to her until several minutes later, when the system analyzed a bunch of data. Rosemary was overjoyed and couldn’t help but pull out her phone.
"Grandpa Beck, we’ve got the results of our data. TR1 and VO Fashion3 had a series of reactions. This ant our plan is feasible."
The previous three plans had failed, but the latest one had succeeded. Rosemary’s voice was filled with excitent.
"Really? I thought we had to wait a week for the results. How did you find out so soon?"
"We won’t have to wait a week anymore."
The dical equipnt Roo had bought could significantly reduce her experint ti.
Grandpa Beck didn’t quite understand what she ant by "won’t have to wait a week," but when he heard Rosemary’s excitent, he felt excited too, "So, we can proceed with the next plan."
"Yes, if everything goes well, it will be completed soon, and then we can apply to the market."
Rosemary was filled with excitent. Once it went on the market, they could save more people.
After hanging up, Rosemary’s attention returned to the computer screen. Thinking of her private research on Alzheir’s, she input another string of data, creating a new file in the system.
Roo, next to her, was just standing there, speechless. While it was quite alluring watching Rosemary engrossed in her work, he didn’t want to be stuck in the lab all day, feeling like so sort of statue.
So, he cleared his throat, "Rose."
"Hold on." Rosemary was completely absorbed in her screen. Only after a while, she asked, "What’s up?"
Roo glanced at the ti. It had already been half an hour since Rosemary had last acknowledged him.
"It’s been half an hour."
Rosemary, "No way?"
Had it really been half an hour? She was just inputting so data. How did ti fly so fast?
Seeing his ignored presence, Rosemary decided to save her work and asked, "Alright, what’s on the agenda for today?"
Considering all the equipnt he bought for the lab, she planned to accompany him.
"I want to take you sowhere."
Rosemary’s eyes instantly lit up, "More equipnt?"
Roo didn’t expect equipnt to have such a high place in her heart, and he felt a bit down, "Just , do you want or not?"
"That worked too." Rosemary’s enthusiasm faded a bit.
Roo was speechless. Apparently, he really couldn’t compete with lab equipnt.
Leaving the house, Rosemary looked back sowhat reluctantly, "Pick up tomorrow."
Roo wanted to be happy about it but then realized she was only coming for the equipnt, which made him feel a bit bumd out.
"Once I finish my experints, I’ll have more ti for you." Rosemary seed to read his mind and smiled at him.
"When you’re done, more experints will be waiting for you." Roo knew that for her, there was no end to experints.
Having a fiancée so passionate about research, he had no choice but to play along.
Just then, a car violently hit theirs. Roo instinctively shielded Rosemary in his arms. Carl, who was driving, yelled out, "Mr. McMillian, Rosemary, watch out, we are being ambushed."
Another car hit them from behind. Roo tightly held Rosemary, his eyes filled with rage. He didn’t care about himself, but if the assailants dared to scare Rosemary...
They were surrounded by cars on both sides. Another car was closely pursuing from behind. Carl glanced at the rear–view mirror, then checked the situation on both sides, "Mr. McMillian, Rosemary, buckle up."
They had to force their way out now, or else the consequences of being surrounded were unpredictable. This was the outskirts, and this road was a wasteland with only their cars chasing each other.
Carl swerved the steering wheel, hitting the car on the left, then quickly swerved back, hitting the car on the right. But the car behind them violently hit them back like it was retaliating.
Just then, a large truck appeared in front, blocking their path. Carl slamd the brakes.
Four cars surrounded Roo’s car, one in front, one behind, and one on each side. Carl hit the ergency button in the car, which connected directly to the head of the security team, sending their real–ti location.
"I’ll deal with this. You stay in the car and wait for . Don’t get out unless I say so." Roo looked at Rosemary in his arms and softly asked, "You got that?"
"Mhm." Rosemary nodded slightly, but in reality, she hadn’t heard a thing. She didn’t catch anything Roo had just said.
After Carl and Roo got out of the car, the people in the other four cars started to get out individually.
