"So, the dosage has been reduced from 1 gram to 0.8 grams now." Rosemary guessed her expectation and gently said, "The frequency remains the sa, and the taste is still a bit bitter. There won’t be much change."
"Alright, you’re so considerate, Rose." Under Phillip’s care, Shirley finished the dicine in the bowl. Then Brodie took the bowl away, and after a while, he brought another one.
"Phillip, this one’s for you."
It was the dicine Rosemary had previously prescribed for Phillip. It’s good for the heart, once a week. The mont Phillip slled it, he frowned, but Rosemary was still here, so he plucked up the courage and said, "Rose’s ds just sll different. The taste is rich, and it’s so delicious! It’s really a treat, hahaha!"
Rosemary watched him finish it in one go, sympathy welling up at the bitterness in his eyes.
Beside them, Roo smirked, "Delicious? I’ll have Rose make more for you to strengthen your body."
Phillip: Thank you very much!
"It’s getting late; take Rose ho to rest." Phillip was afraid Rose might actually give him more ds, and then that would be the end of him.
Rosemary knew Phillip wanted them to leave and have their own ti, so she smiled and said, "Well, grandma and grandpa, we’ll be heading off now. We’ll visit again when we have ti."
Roo’s eyes shifted, and his aura softened. She said "we." Since when did she include him in her plans, saying "we" more and more often?
"Rose ans we’ll visit again next ti." Roo emphasized the word "we" and reminded Phillip, "Don’t pour the dicine away."
"Don’t badmouth in front of Rose! I’ve never poured away any of Rose’s dicine."
"Really?" Roo retorted, "That plant looks like it was scorched to death."
Phillip followed his gaze to the one–ter plant between the living room and the courtyard and stuttered, "That ti I didn’t hold the bowl well, it spilled accidentally."
Admitted it??
"It’s all Brodie’s fault! The dicine he gave was too hot, so I accidentally let go. Brodie, it’s your fault! Be careful next ti."
Brodie: I’ve put up with too much over the years.
"Really, Rose, your dicine is so precious, so how could I pour it away? Every ti I finish it, I want more!"
Roo and Brodie were at a loss for words.
Rosemary tried not to laugh. "It’s fine, as long as you didn’t scald yourself."
"See, Rose cares about !"
Roo just set traps! Phew!! Let’s go quickly!
"We’re heading off." Roo took Rosemary’s hand, his gaze softening as it landed on her.
After saying goodbye to grandma and grandpa, Rosemary got in the car, and after a while, Roo got in too.
He took her hand, walking and talking, and said, "Mr. Eugene is always so proud. For him to invite you to play chess and look forward to your arrival, you must be really good at it, right?"
"It’s okay."
"So you won against Mr. Eugene, and he lost his cherished possession to you, which you gave to grandma!"
"How did you know?" Rosemary looked up, seeming surprised.
Roo realized he had underestimated her. He didn’t expect her to be so good at chess.
"Is there anything you can’t do?" As soon as Roo finished speaking, he leaned in close, teasing, "I know."
Rosemary: "What?"
Roo looked at her lips, the breath of his words lightly falling on her lips: "You can’t kiss."
Roo’s lips gently touched hers. "Like this, have you learned it?"
Rosemary lifted her eyelids and playfully asked, "You’re not even good at it yourself, and you have the nerve to teach ?"
"That’s because I haven’t had the chance to practice. Let’s see if you’ll give the chance."
Rosemary: "What do you an?"
Was he blaming her for not giving him more opportunities to practice kissing? She didn’t give him a chance, but he still got close, didn’t he?
At this mont, Roo noticed there was another person outside the car. He rolled down his window and asked, "Anything else, grandpa?"
Phillip had been standing there for a while, witnessing everything.
"Nah, I’m good. Just out for a walk."
Taking a walk alone and leaving grandma at ho, really?
"You guys carry on."
Phillip turned to leave. His wife had seen their car parked there for a long ti without moving, thinking it was broken, and was about to co over to see if they needed a replacent. Turned out they were overthinking things! These two youngsters were just making out in the car.
Carl was tactful enough to find an excuse to get out of the car and leave them be.
As they hit the road, Rosemary felt so discomfort in her lower abdon. Was it her period coming? Thinking about this, she told Carl in front, "Step on it."
"Huh?" Carl was a bit confused. "Ms. Rose, is there an ergency?"
"Mhm."
Sitting in the seat, Rosemary could feel sothing seeping out from below. Damn. Too late.
Roo’s gaze fell on her. "What’s wrong?"
Was she tired and wanted to go ho to rest, or did she suddenly rember sothing urgent she needed to handle? What could possibly need handling at this late hour?
Carl was still in the front, so it wasn’t convenient for Rosemary to say. When they arrived at Roo’s mansion, Rosemary said, "Carl, you can catch a cab ho."
At this late hour, could he even get a cab here? Although Carl responded respectfully, he couldn’t figure out Rosemary’s mood and felt a bit desolate inside. Ms. Rose was no longer that considerate little girl from before.
When he left to hail a cab, Rosemary told Roo, "You get out first."
"Huh?" Roo looked at her puzzled, noticing sothing was off. "Are you not feeling well?" Why would she want to stay in the car alone?
"I got my period." Rosemary was a bit embarrassed. "I’ve ssed up your car."
So that’s what it was.
Roo’s eyes softened. "It’s alright, it’s just a car. I’ll carry you in."
"No." Rosemary didn’t want to stain his clothes.
Roo was amused by her, rarely seeing her like this: "Don’t worry, no one will see."
Derek and Gary were still in the mansion, and they should be resting by now.
Rosemary looked at his white shirt, still hesitating, when the next second, Roo used his suit jacket to wrap around her waist and carried her out of the car.
Carl finally understood. So Ms. Rose wanted Mr. McMillan to carry her, but why did she want him to leave? Was she shy? But why would she tie a jacket around her waist in the hot sumr?
As Carl was still pondering, Roo shot him a glance, and he quickly averted his eyes, realizing he had been staring at Ms. Rose a bit too long. Surely Roo didn’t think he was checking out Ms. Rose’s waist, right?!
