Kelly was laughing her head off and turned to the other two girls. "Hi, ladies! I’m Kelly, Rosemary’s BFF."

The two girls were taken aback by another pretty girl joining them, and she was the bestie of the top student.

"So, your grades are also top-notch?"

"Hey there, I’m Joyce. Nice to et you."

"I’m Mya; we’re friends from now on!"

The four girls were having a blast. Monts later, Rosemary’s phone rang.

"Rose, why are you still not here? I’m on pins and needles. You like your dorm, right?"

"Pretty good." Rosemary didn’t expect to snag the top-floor room with a killer view. "I’ll be there soon."

"I’ll be waiting in the principal’s office." President Barton hung up the phone with a chuckle.

Rosemary saw texts from Roo and David on her phone. They asked about her new school, her new classmates, and how she was settling in.

Rosemary snapped a photo of her room and sent it over, adding, "Everything’s good."

"Let’s go get so drinks; it’s sweltering! The school’s got a bunch of cool places around; let’s go check them out." Kelly proposed.

The two girls were still unpacking, so they had to pass.

Kelly dragged Rosemary along. "We’ll bring so back for you! What do you want?"

"No need." The two girls were too shy to accept her kindness.

But Kelly was super generous. She didn’t care about the chump change.

The comrcial street near the school just got a makeover; the walls were covered in graffiti, looking pretty hip.

After shopping around with Kelly for a bit, they were about to head back when they spotted a familiar figure.

Kelly was astonished. "Yolanda?"

How did she have the nerve to show up?

Didn’t those scandalous videos of hers online make her die of sha?

And more importantly, how could the school accept such a misbehaving student?

Yolanda obviously noticed them too and imdiately stopped in her tracks.

Her face was scratched by Mrs. Panter, leaving scars, but she had makeup on, so they weren’t visible.

Under the sunlight, she scrunched her brows and stepped up to Rosemary, resentnt in her voice. "My parents are doing life; are you happy now?"

Rosemary looked at her coldly. "Not quite. They’re still alive after all."

Why were they still alive when her grandma was dead?

If it wasn’t for making them suffer and making them pay, she would’ve killed them long ago!

Yolanda was about to say sothing, but Kelly stepped forward. "Didn’t get enough of a beatdown last ti? Want to test my skills again?"

"You’ll see!"

"Why would we wait for you? Who do you think you are?" Kelly snapped back without hesitation.

Yolanda held back her anger and stord off.

Watching her retreating figure, Kelly couldn’t help but tell Rosemary, "She’s still as annoying. Her parents’ way of life has nothing to do with you. They brought it upon themselves!"

If they hadn’t committed cris, why would the law convict them?

Rosemary watched Yolanda’s figure and casually said, "I heard she went back to Yvonne, but she can’t handle the simple life."

"Just being a rich girl for a few days, and she can’t go back to her old life? Yvonne’s too naive, Yolanda’s so heartless, and she still treats her like her daughter."

"Well, she’s got nowhere else to go."

Being harassed by creditors every day, the school beca the only place she could stay.

In the car, Roo was incessantly checking his phone, finally getting the text he’d been waiting for.

Just a simple ssage: All is well. Accompanied by a photo of her dorm room.

But the first thing Roo noticed was her slender figure, reflected on the glass door as she took the photo.

She looked stunning.

As he was about to reply, there was a knock on the car window.

"Roo," Serena was standing outside the car, smiling sweetly, "It’s stuffy in the car. Why don’t you co out for so fresh air?"

Ignoring her, Roo went back to his text. Serena knocked on the window again.

"You must be bored all alone in the car. No one to chat with. All the drivers are helping my sister move her stuff. Mom and Dad aren’t here either. We’ve got nothing to do, so why not grab a coffee at a nearby café and wait? Roo, are you even listening?"

She deliberately pressed her chest against the car window, trying to get Roo’s attention. But he didn’t even glance at her, focusing on his phone as if she didn’t exist.

Feeling embarrassed and frustrated, Serena looked to Martha in the other car for encouragent.

"Roo, I don’t an anything by it. We grew up together; can’t we even have a cup of coffee now? What could I possibly do to you with all these people around?"

"I’m engaged," Roo said coldly without looking up from his phone, "keep your distance."

Upon hearing this, Serena put on a pitiful look.

"Do you really prefer the icy and rude ones?"

Before Serena could finish, Roo shot her a warning look.

"Roo." She was telling the truth! Rosemary was indeed cold and had a knack for rubbing people the wrong way. She wasn’t defaming anyone!

"I just wanted to invite you for a coffee, but if you’d rather stay in the car, I can join you." Serena said in a soft and wronged tone, "Is there a misunderstanding between us? Did my sister say sothing bad about ?"

"You’re too full of yourself." Roo’s gaze turned icy. "You’re not even worth ntioning."

"Roo."

"In this lifeti, even if you mimic her every word and action, even if you have plastic surgery to look like her, I wouldn’t give you a second glance."

This was the first ti Serena had been humiliated like this. She stood there, embarrassed and ashad.

"I despise hypocrites and selfish people, and people who think too highly of themselves, and you are all of them."

Serena bit her lip, holding back tears.

"If you keep pushing, your cushy life as a rich girl will be over."

Feeling humiliated, Serena ran back to her car and burst into tears.

"How could he say that about ? I’m not fake; I’m not selfish; I’m not self-centered." Serena sobbed inconsolably in Martha’s arms, feeling wronged. "What does Rosemary have that I don’t? Just because he’s a billionaire, does that make him so great? His words were too harsh!"

Martha consoled her, saying, "n like Mr. McMillan are naturally arrogant. Winning his heart isn’t easy. Otherwise, every good-looking girl in the world could be Mrs. McMillan. Why should it be you?"

"But what’s so great about Rosemary? She just plays the piano, slacks off at work, and is always cold."

"n are drawn to won who are cold and indifferent. It’s their desire to conquer. It’s not your fault."

After Martha’s explanation, Serena finally stopped crying and wiped her nose.

"And you’re not smart enough. You should have cried in front of him; that way he would feel awkward and guilty for bullying a girl. But now, dry your tears, listen to , and try again."

"Do I have to go again?" Serena really didn’t want to make a fool of herself again. Roo’s reaction was terrifying. If she went again, he’d probably hit her!

"You need to be persistent; show him what makes you special!" Martha continued, "Let him know you truly like him! Not like other girls who are after his wealth and status."

After so thought, Serena finally got out of the car.

This ti, following Martha’s advice, she bravely knocked on Roo’s car window and said softly, "Roo, I’m sorry I was wrong. Please don’t be mad; just hear out."

Roo glanced at her, and seeing a glimr of hope, Serena said with a wronged tone, "Could you get out of the car while we talk? It’s suffocating with you staring at ."

She lowered her head, like a child who’d done sothing wrong, nervously expecting forgiveness.

But to Serena’s surprise.

The next mont, she heard the car door open.

Roo’s dress shoes ca into view.

As his feet hit the ground, it felt like a dream to Serena. She couldn’t believe it. She looked slowly up at his incredibly handso face.

Roo got out of the car!

He actually got out of the car!

He was standing right in front of her!

Martha was right; n can’t stand seeing won in tears, looking helpless.

She had purposefully made that face, showing a bit more skin, just to get this reaction.

Just as Serena was about to let her joy show and say sothing, Roo was already on the move, breezing past her.

The whole thing took only three seconds.

Serena stood there, dumbstruck, as he got into Carl’s car, which quickly drove away.

It took her a mont to realize that Roo hadn’t gotten out of the car to hear her talk. He saw Carl coming to pick him up, so he got out.

From start to finish, all of this had nothing to do with her.

Her previous happiness vanished, replaced by embarrassnt and sha.

In the car, Carl was driving and asking at the sa ti, "Boss, what’s up? Weren’t you supposed to drop Ms. Rose off at school today? Why the sudden change of plan? Did you have a spat with Ms. Rose?"
