A mont later, Hannah hesitated before stepping out from behind the pillar, her expression awkward, unsure.

She forced a small, nervous smile, trying to pretend like she hadn’t just heard sothing she absolutely wasn’t supposed to.

His tense shoulders visibly relaxed the mont he saw her.

"Hannah...?"

His voice wasn’t as cold as it had been monts ago. It almost sounded relieved.

But the relief didn’t last.

The second he realized what that ant that she had seen everything, heard everything his expression hardened again.

Liam took a deep breath, forcing himself back into composure. His walls went up instantly.

He didn’t like people knowing his weak spots.

Especially not soone like Hannah, soone who had always seen him as composed, professional, strong.

He turned to fully face her, his eyes sharp as he spoke in a low, firm voice.

"Don’t tell anyone about this."

There was a warning in his tone, quiet but clear.

Hannah’s fingers tightened slightly around the bag she was holding.

"O-Okay, sir..." she stamred, nodding quickly.

She wasn’t stupid.

She could tell how exposed he felt right now.

After all, no one likes knowing that their darkest monts have been witnessed by soone else.

Liam studied her face for a mont, his eyes searching hers, making sure she really understood.

Then, with a slow nod, he turned away.

Hannah watched his broad back as he walked away.

Just as she was about to turn away, he suddenly stopped.

And then he turned around.

Hannah’s heart skipped a beat, but she quickly forced a professional smile.

"Sir, anything else?" she asked, her voice light, her tone casual.

Liam’s dark eyes studied her for a mont, unreadable as always.

Then, his lips parted, his voice quieter this ti.

"Call Liam outside the office."

Hannah’s smile froze slightly.

Her boss..no, Liam had never asked anyone to do that before In office.

Before she could even process it, he had already moved on.

"Let drop you ho."

Liam walked toward his car, effortlessly opening the passenger door for her.

Hannah blinked.

"No, no, sir, really!" she said quickly, waving her hands in protest. "I can walk ho! It’s not that far."

Liam’s gaze darkened slightly.

"Hannah, I said I’ll drop you."

His voice was firm, leaving no room for argunt.

Hannah sighed, knowing she wasn’t going to win this one.

"Fine... but only this once!" she grumbled, finally sliding into the seat.

Liam didn’t say anything but the small, satisfied look on his face didn’t go unnoticed.

He rounded the car, slipping into the driver’s seat with effortless ease.

The car purred to life, and as he pulled onto the road, the soft glow of the setting sun bathed everything in a golden hue.

The city skyline looked softer, warr, almost magical in the golden hour light.

Hannah, sitting in the passenger seat, stole a quick glance at Liam.

The sunlight hit his sharp jawline, the golden glow making him look handso.

As the car rolled smoothly down the road, Hannah leaned back, stretching her arms slightly.

"So, boss—ah, I an, Liam," she corrected herself quickly, shooting him a cheeky grin. "You’re actually driving yourself? I thought rich guys like you always had drivers."

Liam huffed a small laugh, his fingers tapping lightly against the steering wheel.

"I do." His lips curled slightly. "But I don’t like being chauffeured everywhere. Makes feel useless."

Hannah raised an eyebrow. "That’s deep."

Liam glanced at her. "Not really. I just don’t like soone else controlling my pace."

Hannah humd, nodding. "Makes sense. So, do you do normal rich-people things? Fancy parties? Expensive wine? Wearing suits even when you’re ho alone?"

Liam chuckled, shaking his head.

"Suits at ho? What kind of psychopath do you think I am?"

Hannah snorted, covering her mouth to muffle her laugh. "I don’t know, you just give off that energy. Like, I imagine you waking up in a full three-piece suit, drinking black coffee while reading stock market charts."

Liam laughed again, this ti a genuine, deep chuckle that made his shoulders relax.

"Hannah, do I look that boring to you?"

"A little." She grinned. "But hey, I’ll give you credit. At least you know how to drive. That already makes you cooler than half the CEOs in this city."

Liam let out a soft scoff, but there was amusent in his eyes.

For the first ti in a long while, he felt light.

But then—

Hannah, still smiling, tilted her head and spoke without thinking.

"So... are you and Miss Sienna really over?"

The air inside the car changed instantly.

The warmth from their conversation vanished, replaced by sothing sharp, sothing cold.

Liam’s grip on the steering wheel tightened slightly.

His jaw clenched.

His knuckles turned a shade paler as he tapped against the wheel once, twice, as if holding sothing back.

Hannah noticed the change imdiately.

The way his eyes darkened, his shoulders tensed.

His entire presence, once relaxed, turned rigid.

She bit her lip, regretting her question instantly.

"Sorry, I—"

"There was never anything to be over," Liam cut in, his voice flat, emotionless.

Hannah swallowed.

The light-hearted energy from before was gone.

The silence stretched, heavy and awkward, as the golden hues of sunset faded into the soft blue of the approaching night.

Hannah bit her lip, shifting slightly in her seat. She had ruined the mont.

Why did she have to bring up Sienna? Stupid, stupid, stupid.

She glanced at Liam from the corner of her eye.

His expression was unreadable, his jaw tight, gaze focused straight ahead.

After what felt like an eternity, he finally spoke.

"Address."

Hannah blinked. "Huh?"

Liam’s fingers tapped against the steering wheel impatiently.

"Your address, Hannah. Where am I dropping you off?"

Hannah hesitated before forcing a small, nervous laugh.

"Ah... which address?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

Liam finally looked at her, raising an eyebrow. "How many do you have?"

"Well, I do have my official residence, my secret spy hideout, and my ergency escape bunker—"

Liam sighed heavily, shaking his head.

"Hannah."

"Okay, okay! I get it!" she said quickly, lifting her hands in surrender.

She took a deep breath before turning to him with the most dramatic, puppy-eyed expression she could muster.

"Liam, sir, kind and handso boss, please forgive for my mistake."

Liam gave her a side glance, unimpressed.

She clasped her hands together.

"I was a fool. A simple, naive assistant who let her curiosity get the best of her. I shall never, ever, ever ntion that na again."

Still, no reaction.

So she leaned forward slightly.

"Please don’t fire , mighty CEO. My rent depends on you."

Liam let out a soft exhale—almost a laugh.

"You’re ridiculous."

Hannah grinned. "But did it work?"

Liam’s lips twitched, his previous tension slowly lting away.

"Give your real address before I change my mind."

Hannah quickly rattled it off, pleased with herself.

Crisis (mostly) averted.
