Lilith arched a brow, a smirk playing on her lips. "Oh? You an sothing like... Nova is hard-working? Nova is talented? Nova is very handso?"

Nova nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes! Exactly!"

Lilith’s smirk deepened. She leaned forward slightly, eyes glinting with amusent. "Are you sure?"

Nova, clueless as ever, bead. "Of course! Why wouldn’t I be?"

Lilith chuckled to herself. Oh, poor Nova. He had no idea.

Human Doll was already jealous.

And now, Nova had just dug his own grave.

She sighed dramatically, internally mourning her bestie’s soon-to-be downfall.

Rest in peace, Nova. You never stood a chance.

"And tell him how I’m your closest bestie, how hardworking I am, and—" Nova continued his speech, completely unaware of his impending doom.

Suddenly, Ava’s eyes widened as she stared at sothing behind him. Her face paled slightly, and her mouth opened, but no words ca out.

Lilith, on the other hand, had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing.

Nova frowned, oblivious to the shift in the atmosphere. "Yo, Ava, don’t look at like that! And Lilith, you too! I know I’m handso, but this is too much admiration." He smirked, flipping his imaginary hair.

Lilith almost lost it.

Because behind him, standing like a shadow of doom, was Alexander.

He was dressed sharply in a dark suit, hands casually tucked into his pockets. Even with a bandage wrapped around his head, he still managed to look effortlessly intimidating—and infuriatingly attractive.

His tall fra cast a long shadow over Nova, his dark eyes unreadable, but his expression said everything. His face was calm, too calm, and that was never a good sign.

The tailored suit fit him perfectly, emphasizing his broad shoulders and long legs. His jaw was sharp, his Adam’s apple subtly moving as he exhaled.

And those eyes.

Dark. Cold. Amused—but dangerously so.

Nova, still unaware, stretched his arms and grinned. "Anyway, back to my—"

Lilith finally let out a chuckle, shaking her head. Oh, Nova. Rest in peace.

"You were saying sothing?" Alexander’s voice was smooth, dangerously calm, laced with a cold amusent that sent shivers down Nova’s spine.

Before Nova could react, a firm hand landed on his shoulder.

He froze.

Slowly—very, very slowly—he turned his head, feeling the weight of doom pressing down on him.

"S-Sir... sir... sir..." he stamred, his voice barely above a whisper.

Then, as if trying to save himself, he forced out an awkward laugh. "Hahaha! You’re here! What a... what a surprise!"

Lilith, watching this unfold, crossed her arms, thoroughly enjoying the show.

Ava, anwhile, was already mourning Nova’s fate in silence.

Alexander didn’t move his hand, nor did his expression change. That cold smile stayed firmly in place.

Nova was dood.

Nova felt the unbearable weight of Alexander’s hand on his shoulder, his muscles locked in place like a prisoner awaiting judgnt.

"Surprise, indeed," Alexander murmured, his voice dangerously smooth. His grip didn’t tighten, but it didn’t need to—Nova already felt like he was seconds away from collapsing.

Lilith leaned back in her chair, fully enjoying the scene, while Ava silently sent prayers for Nova’s safety.

Nova, desperate to escape, let out another awkward laugh. "Boss! You’re looking... healthy! That bandage? Just a scratch, right? You probably don’t even feel it—haha—"

Alexander tilted his head slightly, his eyes sharp and unreadable. "You seem very enthusiastic today, Nova. So hardworking. So... full of complints."

Nova instantly regretted everything.

"N-No, no, sir! I just—I an—hardworking, yes, but not too hardworking, I respect work-life balance, you know?" He wiped his forehead, despite there being no sweat. "And complints? Haha! Who, ? I never talk too much! I—I barely say anything at all!"

Alexander humd, clearly unconvinced. Then, in an almost thoughtful tone, he asked, "You want a promotion, don’t you?"

Nova blinked.

Ava gasped.

Lilith smirked, already knowing this wasn’t an opportunity—it was a trap.

Nova, however, was too desperate to think straight. His eyes lit up, and he nodded way too fast. "Yes, sir! Absolutely, sir! A promotion would be amazing, sir!"

Alexander finally removed his hand, slipping it back into his pocket, his expression unreadable. "Then, starting tomorrow, you’ll assist the finance departnt with the quarterly reports."

Nova’s smile froze.

Ava covered her mouth in horror.

Lilith bit back a laugh.

Quarterly reports. The most hated, most exhausting, most ti-consuming task in the entire company.

Nova swallowed. "S-Sir... that’s not really my departnt—"

Alexander’s cold smile returned. "You want to work hard, don’t you?"

Nova internally scread.

Lilith couldn’t hold back anymore and burst out laughing.

Ava patted Nova’s back, whispering, "Rest in peace."

And just like that, Nova dug his own grave and buried himself in it.

***

Alexander didn’t bother sparing Nova another glance as he turned away, his voice calm but commanding.

"Miss Lilith. My office."

And with that, he walked off, leaving behind an air of quiet authority.

Lilith chuckled, amused, and patted Nova’s back. "Good luck with those reports, bestie."

Nova sat there, staring blankly at the table, his soul already halfway out of his body. "I’m dood," he whispered.

Ava nodded solemnly. "You really are."

Lilith smirked and walked off, following after Alexander, completely unbothered—because while Nova had to deal with endless paperwork, she had an entirely different things waiting for her in the CEO’s office.

***

Lilith maintained her professional deanor, stepping forward and placing the files neatly on his desk. "Sir, these are the reports." Her voice was steady, cool, as if she hadn’t already predicted what was coming.

Alexander took them without a word, flipping through the pages with ease. But then his eyes glinted with sothing sharp, sothing unreadable.

And just as she expected—

"Miss Lilith, you are two minutes late."

His tone was cold, precise, and absolutely unforgiving. He leaned back in his ridiculously expensive chair, his hands resting lazily on the armrests, his legs spread in a way that exuded effortless dominance.

He looked ridiculously hot.

Lilith’s fingers twitched at her side. Oh, so he wants to play with .

Keeping her face perfectly composed, she tilted her head slightly. "But, sir, I’m only two minutes late..."

Alexander’s lips curled...just slightly. "And I don’t tolerate unprofessional behavior here."

His voice was deep, smooth, but there was sothing else in it, sothing dangerous, like he was testing her, waiting to see how she’d react.
