Back then, she had been at her wit end and she had thought that things were going to end badly.
Of course, she had realized that these were witches, and she had heard the old tales, even reading about them in books.
A group of humans that believed and worshipped the old King, Solomon as their god, believing that he was the grace that they needed to take back their lands.
When she was little, she had thought they were myth. After all, Witches were still humans, and not having lands in any sub planes ant that they had no where to call ho.
Legends had it that they had once stood against one of the nine Primordial demons and were one of the crucial factors for the sealing of the Royal Leviathan Family after serving them in secret, of course.
Of course, this was the family known as the Corpse keepers. The sa undead that had sponsored the power of the Undead commander that had nearly taken her life.
Both her souls, Vine and Gar, still held a grudge against them. And as a people that once served such a family, she did not think of them favorable.
However, when she was at her end, holding Luca tight within her arms, expecting death, but willing to go to the after life even before the child, the attacks stopped coming.
The Witches only hovered above her but did not attack.
And then, the monuntal ship that harbored these people had opened up and a figure glided through the air, to stop before her.
Lady vinegar, in her very weakened state had thought that she would need to fight this woman, she did not have to.
From this woman’s body she had not felt a single trace of magic of any kind. Of course this did not suggest that she was ordinary.
However, she could tell from just looking at her that she was one of significant importance.
After all, while the clothes of the other witches had been woven with magic for efficiency. Hers, gave out a more profound boundless power.
It was like the command of walking on the surface of a plane and one’s feet must touch the ground. That is, it was like gravity, but at the sa ti, it was the command of the north wind to blow south, or the sun to set in the west and rise in the east.
Lady Vinegar’s powers were not so profound, but what she lacked in power and ability, she made up for in her deep profound knowledge.
She had lost a great childishness of hers since the incident of eting lenny, and even more so after becoming a mother to Luca, and therefore, her judgent much quicker.
Even her different souls did not argue as much any more, coming together to make decisions that would optimize survival.
Therefore, it was easy for her to arrive at the conclusion that she did. "Law!" she had muttered back then.
Yes! These woman’s clothes were made by laws. They were many that would considered themselves incredible geniuses if they were able to comprehend just a fraction of one law. After all, the majority of them in the universe were taken up the primordial demons and their kin.
In fact, no one below the Arcane realm had access to laws, and only a hand full of people in the arcane realm truly commanded a law.
More than one and that person was thought to be good. More than three and that person could anticipate the making of not a sub plane, but a full semi plane.
lady Vinegar looked even closer. This woman, though, not outstandingly beautiful, was still admirable to the eyes. But there was more to her than just her clothing that looked like a dark hollow, threatening to pull one in.
Her earrings, necklace, and even hair pins.
Every little decoration on her body was actually A Law.
Right now, if this woman were to wave her hand, she could either beco the beginning of sothing beautiful in creation or the beginning of sothing catastrophic.
Either ways, she was not to be ssed with.
She had a gentle smile on her face as she presented her hand, giving Lady Vinegar the impression that she was both mocking her efforts but appreciating them at the sa ti.
Lady Vinegar nodded as she took her hand, a very gentle and deliberate motion.
"They call mother, but you... you may call Durgia." Durgia stated.
Lady vinegar was left in shock as she took the woman’s hand. After all, they were a few people in the world that could take certain nas for themselves.
It was naming a child Gluttony, or Asmodeus. no one in their right minds would do such a thing. Simple because of the fierce reputation that the owner of the na carried.
Durgia was such a na. No one in their right minds would dare take such a na for themselves.
After all, anyone with enough cells in their heads knew that it belonged to one of the fad sisters of Eve. Of course Durgia, like her other sisters carried her own curse, but lady vinegar could not see it on her flawless skin.
The first won to be seduced by the morningstar and to taste the fruit from the tree of knowledge.
Legends had it that these people did not cultivate any of the known magic in the world, but their control of the foundations of the world was so scary that till date, the Primordial demon still courted them and in many cases, seeked advice.
Of course, that was what the legend said. But then again, the legends did say a lot of things.
Nevertheless, Lady vinegar was not foolish enough to fight anymore.
Durgia motioned for the child to be given to her. lady vinegar hesitated. "Don’t take him away... please!’ she pleaded subconsciously realizing that she was powerless in the face of such an individual.
But she still motioned the giving process, not disobeying.
"Oh... my dear, i would no such cruel thing. In your arms is a treasure we have searched the cosmos for for a very long ti. An heir of solomon, carrying the direct bloodline..."
However, on touching luca, the boy that refused to leave his mother, Durgia’s eyes showed her surprise, "Demon blood!?" She muttered.
Her words made the witches that surrounded her gasp in shock. So of them even began to whisper amongst each other.
these were whispers that she had stopped with a raise of the finger.
It was as if everyone was sensitive to every motion she made. instantly, they imdiately shut up.
She looked at the child intently, her eyes showing a fondness, like a child that had seen a new favorite toy.
"what is your na boy?" she asked.
Little Luca had looked at his mother, his eyes requesting for confirmation to respond before he did.
Lady vinegar nodded.
"Luca..." he responded.
"What a beautiful na. Luca. I am Durgia, you may refer to as you wish, mother, aunty... No! How about Godmother? Yes! that is much better. Can you call that?" she asked.
Once more, the child turned to his mother for confirmation to which she nodded.
"Yes godmother!"
Durgia raised her head to lady Vinegar. "would you join , as a guest of course, aboard our vessel."
Lady Vinegar looked at the Witches that had looked at her with obvious malice in their eyes.
She knew that although this looked like an invitation, the privilege to refuse was not available to her. Hence she nodeded, holding her child to her chest as she was led on board the ship.
It had been a lot of days since then, and it still felt like a dream that she was were she was.
Nevertheless, she did not panic. For so reason, it was clear that they needed her. Sothing about ensuring the boy’s nerves were calm.
After every session, she was allowed to see him.
Each ti, they was a different rune appearing on the boys body.
Each rune, she did not recognise. then again, these witches were not like the washed up types that had road the eighth earth. They were old and thus their magic as old as so semi planes out there.
These had brought her great worry. After all, Luca got more tired regularly. Also, he now ate much more than before.
Fortunately, these people now covered the boy’s al. aning that he no longer needed to feed off Lady Vinegar’s blood.
He was fed so well, many kings would envy him.
Each dish beast with trendous magical energy.
It was so good that there was no creature fed to the boy that was below the Deep Demon level.
It was clear that if his body could carry more, he would be fed great demon level creatures.
The child was even forced sotis to finish his al. naturally, his power also grew... in truth, most tis he did not want to eat.
However after the process today, he served a different al than usual... it was human at.
