Chapter 63: Beast Wave (3)
Crash!!
The fla plu hit the warriors right flank and 3 of them were instantly turned to ash! Loominus was hit as well but only had burns, and since he wasn't dead, just kept fighting. He quickly rushed past the confused Goldnes and sliced down with his sword towards the new creature!
His blade made a perfect arc in the air as it ca down and sliced the beast clean in half! The beast roared out in pain and then quickly died soon after! Loominus took advantage of the confusion and instantly ran after the last 2 of this beast that had co over, quickly killing one of the big threats!
The warriors rushed forwards and quickly started to thrust and stab the Goldnes in the chest and neck, trying to kill as many of them in the confusion as possible! After killing the rest of the fire breathing beasts, Loominus ran back to his squad, jumping over Rust who was almost halfway through killing the Recutris!
When he got back to his line, he resud his defensive stance and scread out,"Almost half done! Keep fighting!"
Suddenly a scout scread out,"Prepare reinforcents! Another beast wave is headed over and will be at the battlefield in approximately 6 minutes!" The scout just happened to have looked up while the others were watching the fight below with nervousness.
Rust heard that and scread back,"WHAT?! HOW MANY?!" and then angrily smashed another Recutrus into a aty paste.
The Scout took a mont then yelled back,"10 Fire breathers! 20 more Goldnes! A new monster that I don't recognize in a group of 15!"
Rust and Loominus both yelled out,"F***!" at the sa ti!
They were doing decent, yet now more were coming! The longer the fight lasted, the less likely it was that they would survive!
The recutris were down to 8 or so left, and realizing the danger, the group of beasts stopped engaging and instead fled from the battlefield, making it so Rust could join the other warriors. He quickly rushed back over to the other warriors and grabbed a spear from the ground where those that had burned to ash had been.
Loominus yelled out,"KILL!" and with a single swing of his sword sliced the neck of another Goldnes. Just like the scout reported, a few minutes of intense fighting later, reinforcents for the beasts ca and started to attack the dwarves as well.
One of the new beasts, which looked strikingly like an ankylosaurus from Jay's previous world, swung its gigantic tail which had a large ball-like appendage at the end. Rust managed to dodge, along with the majority of the warriors, but Loominus and a few others were smacked heavily and thrown almost 20 feet backwards after the strike!
Rust scread out,"LOOMINUS! NO!" as the waves of monster beasts continued to try and swarm into their trench.
Another Recutris was killed by a group of three warriors when the fire breather suddenly appeared behind the dead Recutris with a charged fla plu and breathed out a fiery breath of death onto the n!
Instantly the n were incinerated and Rust didn't know what to do anymore, as they were starting to lose the fight and we're slowly losing ground. Rust shouted out,"Retreat slowly! Trap them in the narrow passage entrance!"
Everyone continued to fight as they slowly retreated backwards, however it wouldn't be so easy as another one of the ball-tail monsters swung its massive tail and sent almost 10 dwarves flying back into the trench!
Rust looked back for a mont to check on them and see if they survived when he noticed that Loominues was attempting to stand up, even though he was covered in blood and wounds. On top of that, Rust could see his mouth moving, almost like he was talking to sobody.
Rust couldn't pay attention for long and quickly turned his attention back to the battle. Rust was now in the front of the pack and he saw the ball tail beast start to swing its tail again. Rust quickly switched to his hamr and swung around in a tight circle to accumulate speed. Then when the tail was almost to the warriors, Rust swung his hamr towards the ball tail!
BOOM!
Like an unstoppable object ets an immovable object, Rust's power seed to cancel out the monstrous power of the beast's tail and the beast roared in anger and pain as it retreated to care for its now injured tail! Rust wasn't doing any better though as both of his arms had gone completely limp from the backlash!
He quickly retreated to tend to his wounds as well. As he was doing this he felt a very strong energy co from behind him, and then, all the beasts stopped attacking all at once.
Even the non-awakened warriors could feel the new energy and they all looked behind them in shock, afraid that a powerful monster had sohow stealthily gotten its way in. Then everyone's faces twisted in confusion and awe as they viewed what was happening.
Loominus was standing with his sword being grasped by both of his hands and a tangible energy was starting to grow outwards from his body and he was looking right at the monsters with hate apparent in those sapphire spheres.
Then he roared out,"RAAAHHH!!" and the energy almost tripled in size and even Rust was starting to feel threatened by Loominus! He, as an awakened person, was instinctually wary of a non-awakened person!
Loominus spoke in a thundering voice, loud enough for every creature to hear,"You leave, or you die!" His energy seed to pulse out of him as he said this and the beasts started to slightly retreat in nervousness. Rust's eyes widened at this as hope seed to be just around the corner!
Right at this mont..
