"What are you doing?" Liu Hui Ying whispered to Zhai Tianyu, who was shaking like a leaf. The man looked sickened to his bones and was trembling as if he was about to faint any second. "Why are you so scared?" Liu Hui Ying was surprised by the actions of the emperor. After all, this man was quite steady. But this was the first ti he was reacting like he was about to faint.
"Human intestines…" Zhai Tianyu was slightly tipsy after he drank that much alcohol in one go and the only thing that he could murmur at the mont was 'human intestines'. Seeing him stare in the air like he was about to pass out, Liu Hui Ying turned to look at the culprits who were kneeling on the floor with Grandma Lan Fen glaring at the two of them.
With a ruler in her hands, she smacked the two of them on the back and scolded. "You two…do you even have so tact? How can you not even understand sothing so simple as keeping things under wraps in front of the weak heart?"
Under all the fear, Zhai Tianyu felt a surge of anger in his heart. What did Grandpa Lan Fen an by saying that he had a weak heart? He fought on the battlefield when he was twelve. The one thing that he couldn't accept was that Su Tai was eating the human intestines without any hesitation or fear in his eyes, like he was used to eating human flesh.
"He is used to eating human flesh." As if realising what the man was thinking, Liu Hui Ying cleared his confusion.
Zhai Tianyu stiffened and raised his head in shock. "How do you know that?"
Liu Hui Ying was making her bed when she heard his question. She raised her head and looked at the man, who had been shocked silly and rolled her eyes at him. "Why else? Because of my profession. I have walked among inhumans and ghosts more than I have got along with humans. Of course I can tell such things with just one look. Those who eat human flesh have this intoxicated look in their eyes. After all, those who get involved in cannibalism have long forgotten the paths of how to live like a human. So, they always look like they are walking corpses."
"Su Tai might look portly but there are bags under his eyes and there is this sickly-looking complexion of his skin, which resembles neither a corpse nor a human. So he has been rather indulgent on human flesh."
Zhai Tianyu could no longer listen. He got to his feet and rushed out to the courtyard, where he threw up. Clutching his chest, he hurled until his stomach emptied. But during this ti, when he was throwing up, soone thumped him on the back. Zhai Tianyu's uneasy heart turned calm as he thought that the one who was caressing him was Liu Hui Ying.
"My queen—"
As soon as he turned around, he ca face to face with Li Gang, who squeezed out a smile and said to him, "You need to stop daydreaming. Have you forgotten that my mistress cannot touch a man? You are dreaming about her taking care of you…you are really sothing."
Zhai Tianyu: "..."
He was speechless!

He suppressed the disappointnt in his heart and then walked back inside the room. When he saw Liu Hui Ying lying on the small bed in the corner where the servants slept, he pursed his lips angrily. Little heartless woman. For whom did I co here for?
Zhai Tianyu felt disappointed and angry. He clearly ca running here to this horrid place where people ate human flesh for her and yet she was sleeping heartlessly when he was throwing his heart out. Really? Was her heart made of stone??
"Yes."
"Yes."
"Yes."
Three voices spoke up at once and made Zhai Tianyu jump in the air. He raised his head and looked at the three ghosts who smiled at him.
"Is her heart made of stone? Is that what you are thinking?" Li Gang raised his hand and pointed at Zhai Tianyu.
Zhai Tianyu nodded slowly and Li Gang clapped his hands. "Well, of course it is. The only thing that can make her heart go all cheery is money. I will suggest that you better not have any thoughts towards her. She is not going to love you back, like ever."
He then disappeared from the room and went to heaven knows where. Behind him, Jia Li smiled at Zhai Tianyu and with her hands clasped together, she spoke in a dreamy voice, "but we all know that as long as your heart is in the right place, you can even move mountains. So you should keep trying, your majesty. Maybe you can make an exception?" After she finished speaking, Jia Li disappeared as well.
Zhai Tianyu then turned to look at Grandma Lan Fen, who was looking at him with a troubled look on her face. Seeing the expression on her face, he pursed his lips and said to her, "Is there sothing that you want to say to , Grandma?"
"I will pray for you, honey. I don't know why you insist on walking this dangerous path but I will pray for you. I hope you make it out alive no matter the consequences."
Zhai Tianyu: "..." why does everyone make it sound like confessing to Liu Hui Ying is a matter of life and death?
He turned to look at the sleeping woman on the cot and walked over. Crouching down just enough to look at her face, he whispered slowly, "Do you even know how everyone talks about you? About how heartless you are? But don't worry… I will not give up. Even if you push away, my queen. Maybe…maybe one day—I shall be able to touch you without hurting you."
Zhai Tianyu had no idea why Liu Hui Ying hated n so much but he was determined to make her love him.
