638: One hundred and fifty-seven.

The oddity that sneaked in 638: One hundred and fifty-seven.

The oddity that sneaked in Not long ago, Tristan, the leader of the Belfast area who had been transford into a follower by the Evil God, executed the event.

Of course, Lu Li rembered him.

It…

or rather, he also ca to the Royal City, and infiltrated Xiusi University just like Lu Li.

Without a doubt, Tristan’s final farewell signified his self-sacrifice at the cost of his life.

Those chunks of flesh would be a key part of his plan.

What to do next, Tristan hadn’t told Lu Li, but Lu Li knew what to do.

Lu Li slipped the kitchen knife into its sheath and hung it at his back waist; the sharp weapon might still co in handy.

He picked up the dirty apron that had once been worn by Tristan, not caring as he tied it around his waist and secured it at the back.

Picking up a rag, Lu Li wiped his hands, then lifted the wooden basin containing Tristan’s flesh chunks and walked to the display window.

Thud!

The heavy dull thud was not clear amidst the buzzing noise of the cafeteria, where “students” were complaining that a bowl of food was not enough.

Lu Li picked up a solid-wood spoon and repeatedly knocked it against the table surface with force.

The thuds spread until all eyes in the cafeteria turned towards him and the conversations ceased.

Lu Li stopped his action, and his calm voice echoed through the cafeteria, “Students who haven’t eaten enough, co and get an extra portion of at.”

The cafeteria beca noisy once again, filled with the sound of chairs scraping against the floor as “students” left their seats to gather in front of the display window.

Lu Li distributed Tristan’s flesh to them, and they seed delighted, so even thanking Lu Li in a friendly manner—they mistook Lu Li for one of their own, or a servant of “Paradise.”

Only a few figures remained seated, including the professor with upturned eyes—

Gawain York looked completely shocked, unable to comprehend why Lu Li would be wearing an apron distributing food; soon, shock turned to horror.

Could it be…

Lu Li noted those who hadn’t imdiately risen, even though they would soon have to leave their seats and join the queue.

“Students” returned to their seats, contentedly holding their food, and the next one approached the display window.

Lu Li rembered him, one of those who had hesitated to leave their seats earlier.

“You are too weak, not worthy of the at,” said Lu Li, his expression indifferent as he sent him away.

The young man with a fuzzy mustache on his lips froze, then his eyes suddenly blossod with an incredibly bright surprise, like the expression of a drowning person grabbing at a lifeline.

The emotion flashed by in an instant, and the young man covered it up again.

“Wait at the northwest corner of the garden, where the rhododendrons used to be,” Lu Li murmured and looked over the young man’s shoulder.

“Is there any bread?” asked Gawain York, watching Lu Li intently.

“You have so over there,” replied Lu Li, letting York leave the display window with a sigh of relief.

Only a few people were left behind him, and like that young man earlier, Lu Li told them to wait at the northwest corner of the garden.

There were still several dozen pieces of at left in the wooden basin that Lu Li let them put on the table.

He removed his apron and returned to Gawain York’s dining table.

“What’s going on?” Gowain York asked in a low voice.

“That’s my colleague.”

Lu Li didn’t reveal too much.

He looked around the cafeteria, the young professor still sat in her seat without getting up, not bothering her with anything strange.

Compared to this odd woman, they were more interested in the chunks of at on the display window—without surveillance, so greedy creatures began sneaking closer to eat the remaining at.

Nearly all the creatures in Xiusi University had eaten so of Tristan’s at.

What role would Tristan’s flesh play in the plan he had set?

Lu Li and Gawain York left early; with so taking the lead, students and professors suspected of being human gradually left the cafeteria filled with monsters wearing human skins, a place that instilled fear in them.

After a brief exchange about the rhododendron bush with Gawain York, he agreed with Lu Li’s choice but was skeptical whether Lu Li could accurately identify them.

“I can, just as I can accurately recognize you,” Lu Li responded.

Gawain York was still sowhat uneasy, but Lu Li’s calmness infected him, slowly settling his emotions.

In the northwest corner of the garden at Xiusi University, the azalea that once thrived now had only its withered and decaying root system.

By the ti Lu Li and Gawain York arrived, the five figures he had alerted were already there, eyeing each other with suspicion.

They guessed that everyone standing there was likely human, yet no one took the initiative to speak.

“Do they have a problem?” Gawain York looked to Lu Li beside him, who was curiously gazing up at the sky where nothing but darkness swirled.

“A little bit.”

The answer from Lu Li made Gawain York tense up.

A strange creature draped in a black cloak was mixed in amongst them, masquerading as a middle-aged man with a gentleman’s mustache, whom Gawain York actually knew—he was so new professor.

However…

perhaps it was possible to try sothing…

Lu Li made his way toward them, followed by an anxious Gawain York.

“I am Lu Li, an Exorcist,” Lu Li surveyed the tense crowd.

“I’ve determined you’re all humans, so I’ll take you to join the others.”

The words that followed from Lu Li made the seemingly eager middle-aged professor quiet down.

Despite having already reaped much, it greedily yearned for more.

“I am human?

Are you joking?” soone deliberately scoffed, testing Lu Li.

They did not fully trust Lu Li.

“You don’t have to believe , I will only take those who are willing to trust ,” Lu Li said, pacing around the periter behind them.

Gawain York found this strange because it didn’t seem like sothing Lu Li would do.

“I…

I believe you!” the young man who had first talked to Lu Li in the cafeteria exclaid through gritted teeth.

“Anyone else?” Lu Li’s gaze passed over the others, pausing on the middle-aged professor’s face.

As if encouraged, the middle-aged professor also shouted, “ too.”

Lu Li nodded lightly, then walked past the middle-aged professor from behind.

The professor had his back to Lu Li, seemingly defenseless.

Thud—

A knife blade abruptly protruded from his throat.

In the fearful eyes of the others, the middle-aged professor turned woodenly to look at Lu Li, asking in confusion, “What are you doing?”

It mistook Lu Li for one of its own kind.

Lu Li furrowed his brows, gently sliding the dagger as if slicing through butter, severing its head.

The middle-aged professor wanted to resist, but before it could, Lu Li used a kitchen knife to slice off its limbs, leaving it to fall on the withered soil.

Lu Li observed the middle-aged professor, whose face showed anger but no pain.

So, a kitchen knife couldn’t kill the creature, it was only for cutting then.

To prevent its voice from summoning distant creatures, Lu Li opened his gun holster and stuffed Redemption into its mouth.

No shot was fired, nor was it necessary; the head of the middle-aged professor began to vaporize, and the severed limbs were gradually dispersing.

Click.

The Spirit-Calling Gun fell into the soil, and the intangible humanity, along with “Redemption,” rged into Lu Li’s body.

Lu Li picked up Redemption, tucked it back into the holster, his tranquil black eyes sweeping over the tense crowd.

“Don’t worry, there are only humans here now.”
