In the distance, Midnight City sank into the gloom, with the remaining four Alchemical Towers standing tall in the city, three silent, and one casting protective light, as well as a foundation reduced to a pit.
Lu Li stood atop a low hill, surrounded by faith.
This was the role Lu Li was about to play: a deity in the making.

She and Elena ca from the Land of Light. Ophelia as the strategist, and Elena, cloaked in a whirlpool-covering black robe, as the guide, guiding Lu Li to “absorb” believers and negotiate with the strange.
The True Vision Orb was yet to verify, and any strange entity could possibly be a soul of Midnight City. So before it’s delivered, Lu Li aid to avoid their deaths, turning them into subordinates instead.
Lu Li, Claire, Ophelia, and Elena were to form the team for this Midnight City expedition.
The group left the low hill, moving closer to the southern part of the distant Midnight City.
That was their first target.
After Chris and the others left, the castle should have been occupied by other strange entities. They were weaker compared to other forces, and Claire knew the area well, even able to na the surrounding strange entities.
Approaching Midnight City was close to dusk, and the distant blood-colored wheat fields had long withered, with blood-like mycelium sprawling across the old farmlands, covering the manor with a foul appearance.

They went separate ways. Lu Li, Ophelia, and Elena approached the blood-colored mycelium to reclaim the farm, while Claire ventured alone into Midnight City to investigate the castle’s current state.
“What next?”
Watching Claire circle over the farm and head away, Ophelia asked Elena.
“Say hello.” Elena approached the blood-colored mycelium, “In the way of the strange.”
The Dreamwalkers were adept at conjuring phantoms mystically, and under Elena’s guidance, a miracle appeared behind Lu Li’s head: a slowly revolving eye like it was made of starry skies.
Elena and Ophelia felt a surge of unsettling disturbance under the eye, a certain terror gripping their thoughts.

Lu Li noticed their oddity and withdrew the phantom, allowing Elena and Ophelia to relax once more.

Elena stopped at the mycelium’s edge, negotiating with the awaiting Kragus Mycelium Monster.
The blood-colored mycelium rippled like ocean waves, forming a contour before Elena.
The exchange, unknown to Lu Li, continued.

“She’s introducing you to the Kragus Mycelium Monster…”
The blood-colored mycelium undulated, making the contours sway.

Ophelia translated Elena’s conversation with the entity for Lu Li.
“She’s praising you to the Mycelium Monster…”
The blood-colored mycelium swelled and spread aside, creating a clean path to the manor.
“The Kragus Mycelium Monster welcos you.”
Elena gradually prostrated, twisting her arm from under the dark robe, spirally extending towards the sky.
“She’s preaching to the Mycelium Monster…”
The rippling mycelium abruptly stilled, then frantically rubbed against itself, emitting a wailing screech. The contour swelled, forming a monstrous claw swiping at Elena—
The Dreamwalkers instantly spread, drawing Elena back.
“I guess the Kragus Mycelium Monster is preparing to attack.”
Lu Li watched as the mycelium transford from calm to turbulent, like a stormy sea.

The surging mycelium rose higher, forming a giant claw striking towards Lu Li and his companions—
