Chapter 1429: Chapter 269: Bizarre Siege
The Land of Light is not very safe recently.

The bat monsters hovering over the Land of Light have beco more frequent. Count Dracula divided them into two teams, one for dayti and one for night.
Night wouldn’t dull the auditory hunting capabilities of the bat monsters, especially with Annie—a massive tree growing on the low hill, the Tree of the New World, with a thousand-ter-high canopy shedding light, covering the entire Sugard Mountain in moonlit luminescence.
Vegetation reappeared in the barren soil, and the rustling of high-altitude treetops allowed residents to sleep peacefully at night.
Similarly dramatic was the change in the Banyan Tree Guardians, as they thrived due to Lu Li and Annie, transforming into giant trees over ten ters tall, feeding back power to the Mother of the Marsh.
The Exorcists and Apprentice Exorcists fell into self-denial as they could almost offer no help, and Vice Dean Chris and Claire led their Alchemy Laboratory to restore their confidence, only for Hades’ sarcastic comnt, “Are the Strange Residents holding Alchemical Elixirs more useful than you?” to plunge them deeper into self-denial.
The Exorcists were still searching for their place, as was the Land of Light aiding them in this search.
Equally unhelpful were Elena and her cultists; Elena was still in incubation, with the small number of Vortex Cultists slowing the conversion rate, and the Land of Light had no extra manpower to accelerate the process by becoming Vortex Cultists.
The Devil’s Daughter was still on her way back to the City of Idealism, and upon hearing of the Land of Light’s crisis, she sent a group of demonic guardians through the Hell Gate to help her allies.
The Earth Dwellers’ Trading Company’s property moved by Lu Li was handed over to the nearby Ghost Town for processing.
Apart from Strange Currency, many dangerous items were in the Earth Dwellers’ Trading Company’s inventory—it should be noted that strange goods are also in the trade array of the Earth Dwellers, and Lu Li sent them away along with the warehouse.
However, they were all bound with restraining shackles, and “Mother” could suppress them.

The Light of Day prepared to face the impending storm.
And in the calm before the storm, Lu Li’s ssages continued to reach the Land of Light through rchant Anthony and the Crown of Thorns.
“He wants us to investigate the ‘Nightmare’.”
In the garden of the villa, the Mother of the Marsh narrated Lu Li’s experiences of the three chapters:
‘Nightmare’ · Chapter Three · Sara’s Book of Death.

And the recent occurrence, ‘Nightmare’ · Chapter Four · Lennon Islands Pandemic.
Tesla pondered, “Where is Aileen? I rember Lu Li and Aileen experiencing Sara’s Book of Death together.”
Soon, Aileen, who was still in the hospital, receiving healing, recovering her body and mind, was called to the garden.
As soone Lu Li knew back in the Weird Tis and the forr owner of this manor, Aileen naturally beca a mber of the “Afternoon Tea Council”.
But Aileen knew no more than Lu Li, recalling so content, such as the existence seducing Sara being intricately linked to Hell in ‘Sara’s Book of Death’.
This suspicion was denied by the Devil’s Daughter: creating Uninvited Guests, destroying the Lennon Islands had nothing to do with Hell, nor did Hell have the power to do such things.
So was it so unspeakable entity pretending to be a Hell creature?
They preferred it as “part of a setup”—the existence seducing Sara was related to Hell, but ‘Nightmare’ wasn’t related to Hell.
“There is no related record in the sanctuary; if we want to know what ‘Nightmare’ is…” Tesla hesitated, “the origin of the Exorcist Association might have records…”
“Where is it?”
“Main Affinity Continent, Kanreia Empire.”
“I seem to have heard of this country…”
“It existed during the Duchy of Saint Mark, though it was called Candrella at the ti.”
The Mother of the Marsh was indeed not unfamiliar with this na, once the most powerful country, and also the oldest, nearly the cradle of civilization.
The Exorcist Association being there wasn’t surprising, and if it’s the headquarters of the Exorcist Association, there should be ancient docuntation.
“You never ntioned it,” the knowledge piqued Chris’s interest.
“Because it’s very dangerous… the Exorcist Association was one of the first places to be attacked; it wouldn’t be any better than the situation on the Lennon Islands, only worse.”
The Land of Light was not suitable to return for now, and with the protection and enhancent of the Evil Spirit Chess Apostle and the Doomsday Apocalypse, Lu Li should be able to explore there.
Tesla handed the drawn route map to rchant Anthony.
Lu Li’s exploration of the Unknown Lands behind the Spine of the World Mountains was temporarily shelved.
It is imperative to find out what the ‘Nightmare’, having gone through three chapters, truly is.
But before that, he must return to the Land of Light.
