Chapter 1038: Chapter 7: Mutant Potion
The afternoon course is still basic knowledge. The highly anticipated Combat Skills Class was forced to change from practical to theoretical due to the polluted knowledge from the Mysticism Course.
This is the forte of Divination Study, where they eloquently spoke about the advantages of Divination Study, and even so students from the Divination Departnt tried to spark Lu Li’s interest in their departnt —
Lu Li did not seek out Professor Hagrid again, as his exposed whereabouts cast a shadow over the Ivory Tower.
During dinner ti, Lu Li went to the dining hall to eat with the other students.
As usual, Dogat fetched a pile of pumpkin pies, eating them coarsely bowl after bowl.
In fact, many students eat without elegance, and a small portion like Dogat eats quickly and urgently. They mostly share a common feature: coming from small towns outside the city or from Midnight City.
After getting familiar with Giant Tree Academy, these students realized that no one here would steal food from them or harm their dignity, and they were gradually returning to normalcy.
Dogat was an exception. On the third day, he was no different from when he first entered the school — clutching his food tightly as if it might sprout legs and run away at any ti, eating with his face full, and cleaning every crumb completely.

“I have no reason to smile,” Lu Li calmly said, stirring mashed potatoes drenched in chicken soup.
“Tasty food for chewing… clear water for chewing… bright light, a warm house…” Dogat mumbled, smiling widely, “I like it here, so I’m happy. When you’re happy, you smile! Just like when you’re sad, you cry, and when you’re angry, you… you… get angry!”
Emotions stem from interactions with the outside world. Dogat was fulfilled by the academy, so he was happy.
But Lu Li did not have his tragic experiences, and academy life did not satisfy him— even if it did, Lu Li would not show his emotions.
Lu Li recalled when he barely knew Katerina, and she said, “Try to change yourself.”
They always seed to hope that Lu Li could beco less cold and rational.

“Smart people hide their emotions,” Fudote twirled a spoon in the broth at the bottom of her bowl, having finished her al, it was the only thing keeping her at the table with Lu Li.
Dogat dumbly lifted his head, “I thought you were smart…”
The spoon scraping the bottom of the bowl stopped. Fudote, understanding Dogat’s implications, was about to get angry but suddenly realized doing so would confirm Dogat’s words, so she feigned adult indifference.
“And Mr. Luli is just like those dead people’s faces I’ve seen,” Dogat said again, “Dead people surely aren’t smart.”
“You could try to put it in a more offensive way,” Fudote couldn’t help but sarcastically retort.
“Why?”
“Then maybe Giant Tree Academy’s New Year Gala this year will give you an award for speaking offensively.”
Lu Li didn’t have ti to ask Fudote what the New Year Gala was as she had already left her seat, passing behind him.
“Just wait to thank ,” Fudote raised her neck like a proud swan as she left.
After finishing his dinner, Lu Li returned to his dormitory to rest.
There was still so ti before lights out, and Lu Li realized he had forgotten sothing. He should have borrowed a few books upon returning from the library.
Now was clearly too late to go, as the Gatekeeper would surely stop him.
The wooden window behind the curtains was tightly shut, showing nothing at this ti.
Contemplating the conspiracy shrouding him, Lu Li slowly fell asleep before lights out.

Professor Hagrid sighed over this. Only a few of the hundreds of students in the classroom might succeed, with Lu Li occupying one of those spots.

Professor Hagrid stopped the sandglass, which had a finger-thick amount of sand remaining: “Hmm… There’s still enough ti for you to attend the Combat Skills Class.”
Imrsed in fantasies of releasing a Cursed Title and joining the Knights Order, the students shifted their attention and cheered.
The student nad Senge cheered the loudest.
After the morning class ended, Lu Li went directly to the mixed area for Professor Chris’s invitation.
The gaunt doorman unsurprisingly stopped Lu Li.
“Professor Chris and I arranged to et today.”
But it seed useless; the doorman only followed the rules: “I don’t think Professor Chris told you that no underclassn are allowed to leave this floor, did she?”
Lu Li summoned rchant Anthony, letting it go to Professor Chris’s office.
rchant Anthony soon returned, telling Lu Li that she wasn’t there.
rchant Anthony disappeared with Lu Li’s letter to Professor Chris, and Lu Li left the mixed area, heading to the dining hall for lunch.
Only after the final Combat Skills Class ended in the afternoon, rchant Anthony still hadn’t found Professor Chris, nor was there a reply— but the left letter was gone.
Professor Chris seed to know that Lu Li was trapped in the canopy layer but did nothing.
Rather than a test, Lu Li believed this was so sort of dark humor or an invitation— hoping Lu Li would visit other layers of the academy.
But due to the conspiracy, Lu Li couldn’t let anyone else take him away from this layer.
Before the reason for his exposed whereabouts was revealed, he had to keep his distance from everyone.
After dinner, Lu Li thought of a solution.
Returning to the dormitory, Lu Li took out the bottle of Mutant Potion that would alter his form.
Professor Chris hadn’t taken it back or warned Lu Li, indicating it was approved and safe. Preparing the linseed oil to recover his body, Lu Li unhesitatingly drank the sweet potion.
Obscure power took over Lu Li’s body, lting it like wax. In an instant, only a pile of clothes remained stacked on the floor.
From beneath the quiet pile of clothes, a soft rustling erged, gradually rising. A shadow-like, elegant, dark cat crawled out from below.
