A continuous ring woke Alaric up from his sweet slumber, groaning in dissatisfaction. Without checking who it was, he picked up.

"Whatever it is better be important," his voice was hoarse and dragged yet cold at the sa ti.

The other person on the phone went quiet for a mont before asking, "Bro, are you still in bed at this ti?" It was Finn’s voice which annoyed him even more.

"It does not concern you. What do you want? " Alaric sat up slowly, trying as much not to wake up the sleeping beauty beside him up.

Finn frowned suspiciously but decided not to ask more. It was very rare for his brother to sleep this long, and he wouldn’t want to be the intruder.

"I found out sothing about the person we’ve been looking for," Finn said hid tone serious. "He’s a vampire, and that’s not all. He’s involved with the witches."

Alaric did not reply instantly as if thinking about sothing, then said, "I don’t care what you do, but I want Nyx within two days."

Finn coughed roughly as if he had choked on sothing. "That... Nyx? How will I find her? Even if I do, she will... kill . You rember what she said. Bro, have you forgotten I’m not immortal like you? I’m prone to de..."

"Not my problem," Alaric was about to hang up when he saw the girl beside him wiggling and rembered sothing. "You never ntioned she goes wild when drunk?"

"Huh? Wild? Who?" Finn was a bit confused, but when he put one and one together, he understood what or who he was talking about. "You an my sweet Venna? She never goes wild when drunk... No... even if she drinks a gallon of alcohol she can never get drunk."

"Mmmh," Alaric humd, narrowing his eyes towards Ravenna, and he was sure she was awake. Then, an idea struck his mind.

He turned on the loud speaker of the phone and then added, "Can you repeat what you said?"

Finn did not suspect anything and rephrased his words, but before he could complete his chirping, the "sleeping beauty" woke up and grabbed the phone from.

"You snitch, wait till I get my hands on you. I’ll let you burn in hell," and she hanged up.

On the other side, Finn was left dumbfounded and in a trance of what was happening between those two. But one thing he understood, they slept together, and that was the reason his brother woke up late. What great news to share with his other brother? And just like that, Finn disappeared to the camp to avoid the now dangerous beauty and also share so itching gossip.

"You lied," a voice ca from behind Ravenna, who had covered herself with the duvet holding it tightly. "You want to suffocate yourself inside there, sweetheart?"

Ravenna took in fast and heavy breaths while fanning herself. Combining the heat, the tension, and fear, Ravenna just wanted to find a hole and bury herself in there.

When she couldn’t take it anymore, she resulted in the only option left. Throwing the duvet away, Ravenna gasped for air while patting her chest softly.

"Phew! I almost died," a chuckle followed, trying her best to lighten the atmosphere.

"Or rather almost committed suicide," Alaric was leaning his back on the headboard.

Ravenna froze in place before she crawled towards Alaric with a pleading smile. Blinking her eyes twice, she hugged his waist and laid her head on his bare chest.

"That won’t work on ," Alaric added before she could even utter a word. He could already guess her intentions. Sweet talking him and walk out scot free without being punished.

Ravenna tightened her hold on him and snuggled closer, leaving no space in between them. "Is it not your fault? You... won’t let go out alone, so I decided to sneak out."

"And involved Zeke in it? I didn’t know you’ve beco so close," his voice was blank and bare, rendering Ravenna speeches. "I’m doing it for your own good. You may not know, but so people are after your life."

Ravenna frowned, but from her mory, she could rember offending soone to that extent. The only possible she could think of Alaric was still trying to keep her confined by providing petty reasons.

"And who could those people?" She questioned, raising her head to look at him, but her hands remained intact.

"It doesn’t matter if you know or not. I won’t let anyone harm you." He brushed her hair gently, his eyes never showing any malice or dishonesty.

Ravenna nodded her head, and her mind sohow beca at ease.

"Now, will you tell why you took advantage of last night?" And there it went, the sa topic she was trying to avoid.

"I didn’t. You are the one who took advantage of a drunken girl," Ravenna retorted, even if she knew there was no way she could convince him otherwise.

"Really?" Alaric travelled his fingers below her chin, making her look at him. "Then I’d also love to take advange of a sober woman. How about that?"

Ravenna was yet to answer when her lips were captured into a hot and demanding, yet gentle kiss. The rolled on sheets fighting for dominance but as always, Ravenna could not match up to Alaric’s stamina. He made sure she couldn’t wake up any ti soon.

Inside a dark, almost empty room, stood a man in the middle. With a snap of his finger, bright light illuminated in the room. The man dressed in all black, and also a black white covered half his face. His hands were pushed to his back, with a subtle smile plastered on his lips.

"My dear, I finally found after a long ti. I won’t let you leave again this ti. Do you know how long I have waited for you? I cried, smiled and laughed to our old mories for four centuries, because of missing. But I knew one day, you’ll return to as you had promised. Though it took long, I’m happy you are finally back," the man took a step forward towards the wall and pressed on black button. The wall beca a screen-like and pictures of Ravenna filled it. Almost like he had been following her everywhere. In almost every photo, there was a person beside her but his face had been cut off. Obviously, it was Alaric but with one press of another button, the man replaced with himself, with still his mask on.

"I’m coming for you, dear. I’m coming."
