Hours had gone by since Zeke and I left the mansion in discreet because I knew the guards would not allow to pass through. That was Alaric’s order. I was not allowed to leave the mansion without him, and now that Zeke had helped escape, that would be a whole lot of trouble for him if that man found out.
"Now what?" Zeke asked when the taxi we were in took a stop.
"Now it’s ti for fun," I replied, gazing through the car window, a smile forming on my lips when I saw that familiar word, Samsara.
"I thought it was only lunch we were having, and now, you’ve brought to hell knows... what the fudge? Why did you bring here?"
I held in my laughter and got out of the car, saying, "Follow once you pay the driver." I shut the door as I turned deaf to Zeke’s curses while he called out my na.
It was quite amusing watching him annoyed and angry, which only made happier for having asked him to take out. I couldn’t wait till the worst happened and see him turning grim, pale, and scared.
"Wait there! Hey! Ravenna, I said stop right there."
I waved at him, still approaching the club with a cheeky smile. "You can leave if you want." With that, I stepped into the club only to be t by the loud music and steamy scenes of female strippers.
I didn’t stop there and went to the next room where my interest lied. Just before I could open the door, soone caught my hand and pulled back.
"If you want dead, you could just say it. That mate of yours will rip apart if he finds out I brought you here." Zeke was truly pissed but that was not what caught my attention.
"Did you just say mate? How... Do you..." I was shocked wondering if he knew about my real identity.
"Yes, I do. Alaric, Finn and Zander told us everything."
I blinked my eyes while shaking my headline confusion. Weren’t you supposed to be enemies with the vampires? Living with them was one thing but also shared secrets with each other? It was quite shocking to find such loyalty among creatures totally different from each other.
"They trust you and your brothers. That’s surprising considering you are wolves and them vampires," I stated, wanting to know the story behind the Nightveil brothers and Zeke and his brothers.
"Why would it surprising when one of the brothers fell in love with our sister, and so it beca his duty to take care of us after her death." For the first ti, I noticed pain and loneliness in Zeke’s eyes. There was neither anger and despise, but now, he seed like a child in need of love.
"You miss her," I voiced out subconsciously, as if I could feel his pain. It was until sothing crossed my mind. "Wait a minute. You said one of the Nightveil brothers fell in love your with your sister, and since you are a werewolf, your sister for sure was also... a werewolf. And if what I am thinking is correct, then it was... Alaric, right?" I took a long breath after the monologue, my mind now in a ss.
"You aren’t as stupid as you seem. Now shall we leave from here?" I could sense he was trying to brush off the subject, but I wouldn’t let him.
"Not yet, but... I’ll co with you willingly if you answer one burning question I have."
"What is it?" He was getting impatient, with the way he was scratching his forehead while looking around.
"How did she... I an, your sister... How did she die?" I wasn’t sure if he would answer , but I could at least try. My heart already knew Alaric couldn’t have done just because he had found she was a werewolf. He would have also done the sa to if he was that ruthless as said.
"It’s none of your business," he replied plainly, his brows furrowed as he looked away from .
"How about this? You answer , and we leave from here. If you don’t, then you accompany inside," I smiled triumphantly thinking he wouldn’t choose the latter but to my disbelief, he opened the door to the male stripper club in annoyance. I understood his reply and just followed him behind after snapping out of disbelief due to his choice. It seed Zeke was not ready to talk about his sister.
I caught up with him and watched in amusent as he tried as much to avoid looking at the erotic dancers on the floor.
"I hate this but hate you more," I heard him murmuring, and I knew he was talking to .
"I know." I chuckled lightly before pulling him to a table where a few old n were playing cards. "I hope you carried enough money. Today, I am going to make you go bankrupt. " Winking at him, I took a seat and pulked him beside , though he tried as much to resist.
***************
Zeke regretted ever agreeing to take the woman out of the mansion. She was a pain in the ass and never wasted a chance to anger him.
Truthfully, he had only accepted to take her out, not because she said she would Alaric for good, but he had seen how Alaric was restricting her freedom, making her cold and unhappy. For so reason, he missed the girl who would argue with him always rather than her zombie self. She seed to have beco dead alive, breathing but not living. There was once he had co across her crying in the living room, but she left when she saw him. It kind of made his heart ache. He talked to Finn about it, but the man just said all would be fine, but he did nothing about it.
Sighing, Zeke decided to let her off just for one day when he saw she was back to her normal. He felt happy inwardly but dared not say it out loud. He almost wanted to talk to Alaric about her, but then...
"Zeke! I won!" Her screeching loud voice echoed in his ears as she punched his shoulder, not so softly.
"Get your hands of !" And now she was hugging his neck almost choking him. But he sighed half smiling at her. He had promised to let her be for today.
After five minutes.
"Aaah! Zeke, I won again!" And his shoulders suffered again.
After another five minutes.
"Zeeekeeee! I’ve beco a master... No scratch that. Am a grandmaster now."
Zeke could not take it anymore and ssaged soone for help but before that person arrived, he had to endure all the hits, the hugs and even bites on his poor arm.
