Chapter 24

**Kieran Morrison**

Her words were irking to no end and this ti I’d finally had enough of her clingy attitude and territorial behavior. The fury I’d been holding back since the bathroom exploded outward like a dam bursting.

"I don’t owe you a damn explanation, We’ve had our fun and it’s over, so get your shit straight and get that through your pathetic head," I snarled, my voice colder and more vicious than I’d ever heard it.

She stepped aside at the harshness of my tone, actually looking afraid for the first ti. But it appeared she wasn’t done yet.

"The other day I asked you to take out, and you had bluntly refused, did you only finally agree because you saw him entering the bookstore? Do you really like trash like him and have only been pretending all along?"

Her questions stung for a mont. Like Oliver? Fucking no! I almost growled out the response but stopped myself just in ti.

I regarded her now with an expression so cold it could freeze hell over.

"You’ve had your fun screwing others, have I fucking ntioned it? Especially because you and I have nothing, so even if I want to have my fun with that trash, it ain’t your goddamn business!" My voice was getting louder, more brutal with each word.

Her eyes grew blurry with angry tears.

"I’ll fucking kill that pathetic queer!" she spat, storming past .

I yanked her back by her hair so hard she scread, dragging out a cry from her lips that echoed through the parking lot.

She looked at as though shocked by my outburst, genuine fear in her eyes now. Well, she had it coming, considering the stunt she had pulled earlier.

"Not so fucking quick. What you did today, never try that shit again," I said, my grip tightening until she whimpered.

She glared at , knowing fully well what I was talking about, but the defiance was wavering now.

I gave her a last aningful look, ensuring she got the context of my words clear. I then released my grip on her hair with a shove that sent her stumbling.

"Do you fucking get it? Don’t fucking toy with him from now on, he’s my new plaything and I don’t share," I spoke in cold nace that made her take another step back.

"And if I ever catch you pulling another stunt like today, recording videos, or even fucking breathing near him without my permission, I will make your life so miserable you’ll beg to put you out of your misery. Are we clear?"

She nodded quickly, tears now flowing freely down her cheeks.

Fuck. I sounded sick even to my ears. But nothing had ever felt so appealing as the thought of him being my little slave.

I got in my car and slamd the door, leaving her standing there shaking.

-

I needed a smoke. Badly.

My hands were still trembling with rage and sothing else I couldn’t na. The taste of his lips was still on mine, and it was driving insane.

The familiar neon sign of Sol’s club ca into view, and I pulled into the back alley where I always parked. This place belonged to Vince’s boss, Sol, and it was one of the few places I could go to clear my head without being bothered.

The bouncer recognized and waved through without question. The club was dimly lit, filled with the usual crowd of people who ca here to forget their problems.

I found Sol behind the bar, his rolled-up sleeves showing off his heavily muscled arms as he wiped down glasses. He was ruggedly handso in that dangerous way that made most people give him a wide berth, the kind of man who looked like he could break soone in half without breaking a sweat.

"You’re here again," he said, shaking his head as I approached. His voice carried that gravelly quality that ca from years of smoking and hard living. "Kid, you’ve been frequenting this place too often lately. What’s eating at you?"

I didn’t answer, just gestured for him to give what I usually ca for. He reached under the bar and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, sliding them across to along with a lighter.

"You know smoking’s bad for you, right?" he said with a wry smile, but he didn’t try to stop .

I took the pack and headed to the back exit that led to a small, enclosed courtyard. It was quiet here, away from the noise and the people.

I lit up and took a long drag, feeling the familiar burn in my lungs. But even the nicotine couldn’t chase away the thoughts that were plaguing .

The kiss. Oliver’s face when I shoved him away. The way he’d looked at with those hurt, confused eyes.

And then, like always when I was at my lowest, the mories ca flooding back.

-

I still rember the first ti I saw her.

Ginny.

She had been the prettiest little thing I had ever seen. Even as a child, I had been extrely introverted, but she was the first person that cracked that wall, no, she had shattered it entirely.

She was the child my parents had adopted when I turned five. They were always traveling, allowing to grow up with nannies, so they probably thought I would be bored all by myself, so they saw it fit to get a sister. It was easy for them—they didn’t have to care about her. To them, she was a commodity that had been bought so I would have a playmate.

But I didn’t feel that way. She was my whole world.

She was about the sa age as , but her gentleness and sweetness were like those of a dove. She practically followed like a lost puppy everywhere I went, was like a second shadow to .

So how could I not get addicted to her? I knew she loved even more than I loved her, and I loved her with everything I had.

But she had been so fragile... so frail. She almost had to go for checkups every week.

Mom and Dad had enough money. They got her everything she wanted... we wanted. Except for the love and attention we craved from them.

They were always traveling. It was always from one business trip to another. They most of the ti left us alone with different nannies and babysitters.

Never once did they ever attend her birthday. I rembered her crying once. Her gaze had been filled with so much hurt as she had asked if my parents would ever get to love her and ever attend her birthdays. I had hugged her and promised her that they would.

Sadly enough, that never happened.

Then Oliver had co along. I still rember the first day the boy with huge glasses ca to our house.
