“Have you made a selection?” Bai Qianqian deliberately blocked Gu Qingxin’s view.
“Yes, I have.” Gu Qingxin ntioned Beiming Han’s height and approximate weight, and had the shopkeeper get so yarn and knitting needles for her. The two of them then left the place.
“Qianqian, what has co over you? You are always looking troubled.” Gu Qingxin couldn’t help but take her hand.
“Nothing, maybe I am just tired from revising my classwork.” Bai Qianqian gave a weak smile.
The yarn shop was located in a market place, which was already desolate with few custors and many closed shops.
As the two moved on, they were blocked by a few n who looked like gangsters.
“Hey girls, just the two of you? Co join us for so fun,” said one of the n with dyed yellow hair, laughing at them.
Almost reflexively, Bai Qianqian stepped forward to protect Gu Qingxin. “We don’t know you. Please, let us pass.”
“Oh, this little girl is quite feisty.” The yellow-haired man tried to touch Bai Qianqian’s chin, but she slapped his hand away.
Gu Qingxin furrowed her brows, took Qianqian’s hand, and said, “Qianqian, let’s go.”
As Gu Qingxin tried to walk away, she turned around and saw more n behind them, all grinning insidiously, clearly in cahoots with the ones in front of them.
“What are you trying to do? Don’t you know this is against the law?” Gu Qingxin asked, clutching Bai Qianqian’s hand tightly.
“Against the law? What are we doing to you?”
That sa man grabbed Bai Qianqian’s arm and forcibly pulled her backwards.
Fortunately, Gu Qingxin held onto her tightly, preventing her from falling.
Just as the man was about to touch Gu Qingxin, a flash of cold light passed by. The next mont, the man’s hand was gone, leaving only a bleeding stump.
Watching Bai Qianqian’s face change with rage, Gu Qingxin lifted her leg and kicked hard at the man, sending him flying back onto the ground.
All the goons were startled by the sudden turn of events and dispersed, fleeing in separate directions.
The gangster with the severed hand was left behind crying out, “My hand, my hand.”
Ye Qi rushed over. Gu Qingxin turned to Bai Qianqian, anxiously asking, “Are you okay?”
“Qingxin, hurry up and take
to the nearest clinic.” Bai Qianqian had felt a pull in her lower back earlier, and now her abdon felt discomforting.
“What on earth happened?” Gu Qingxin supported her anxiously.
“I’m pregnant, I think sothing might be wrong with the baby,” Bai Qianqian said hurriedly, tears welling up in her eyes.
Seeing Ye Qi wanting to deal with that gangster, Gu Qingxin imdiately shouted at him, “Ye Qi, quickly, take Qianqian to the nearest clinic.”
Ye Qi quickly glanced at the gangster, then swiftly rushed over, lifted Bai Qianqian up, and ran out.
