Upon hearing Bai Jingqing’s voice, Gu Qingxin turned back and saw Beiming Han by the bedside. His face bore a heavy frown, which deepened when he saw her looking his way.
Gu Qingxin’s heart clenched tightly and her eyes reddened in an instant. She had assud that she would never see him again.
Suddenly, she rembered Tang Rongling, who had protected her till the end. Anxiety filled her voice as she asked, “How is Tang Rongling?”

As soon as Beiming Han heard her question, he turned around and left.
“Ah Han…”
Gu Qingxin’s throat was agonisingly sore, her words ca out almost inaudibly.
“Don’t worry, Tang Rongling is fine too. His injuries are more severe; his legs were crushed by a cabinet and his back was slightly burned. Luckily, the firefighters and the driver knew you were both inside and rushed in to rescue you in ti,” Bai Jingqing helplessly explained.
Gu Qingxin, “…”
Knowing that Tang Rongling was safe, she finally felt relived. She looked towards the door that had been closed, her dark eyes filled with a sense of loss.
“You must be thirsty. Have so water.” Bai Jingqing propped her up so she could drink so water.
Gu Qingxin didn’t suffer any burns, just so minor skin abrasions from exposure. The severe areas would probably peel.
Upon drinking so water, Gu Qingxin felt slightly better. The pain throughout her body was unbearable, so she lay back down.
She knew Beiming Han must be furious. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have left without uttering a word after she regained consciousness.

“Big bro, has little sister Qingxin woken up?” Huangfu Ye approached, looking worriedly at his brother’s terrible expression.
“…” Beiming Han didn’t respond. He just left in big strides.
Huangfu Ye, “…”
It was natural that big bro was angry again. Sigh, anyone would’ve been upset upon hearing that their woman had run into a burning building, risking her life to save her ex-fiancé.
Huangfu Ye stepped into the room, drawing Gu Qingxin’s attention imdiately. When she realised it wasn’t Beiming Han, a look of disappointnt flickered in her eyes.
“Little sister Qingxin, now that you’re awake, how do you feel?” Huangfu Ye asked.
“Much better,” Gu Qingxin replied softly.
Huangfu Ye, “…”
He locked eyes with Bai Jingqing, who simply shook his head.
“Do you have a mirror?” Gu Qingxin felt a sharp pain on her face. She was afraid she was scarred.
“Don’t worry. Your face was just affected by the high temperature of the fire. You’ll peel a bit in a few days, but after that, you’ll be fine,” Bai Jingqing explained.
Gu Qingxin was gloomy. Peeling? That sounded disgusting.
Still, Gu Qingxin felt sothing was wrong. She reached out to touch her hair and, looking at it, realised the majority was scorched.
She was on the brink of tears, her once proud long hair, was now left charred and pitiful.
“Don’t feel bad, hair grows back,” Huangfu Ye tried to console her.
“…”
“Although you don’t have any serious burns, you should rest. You inhaled a lot of smoke which isn’t good for your health,” Bai Jingqing advised.
“Is Beiming Han mad at ? Can you explain to him that I didn’t an to save Tang Rongling, I really thought it was him inside?” Gu Qingxin asked with a troubled frown.
The two n saw her pathetic appearance, looking as if she had done sothing wrong. They couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.
Their hearts instantly softened.
