Lawrence Winters secretly pondered how these two should have had a state-sponsored flight for their travels, so why were they suddenly taking the high-speed train themselves?
She mused for a while, and when she looked up, she noticed more and more people were gradually entering the carriage and taking their seats.
They all looked surprisingly familiar.
Lawrence squinted her eyes.
Weren’t they all people from the national ranking of wealthy individuals?
Not only had she followed the national ranking of wealthy individuals award ceremony, but she had also worked hard with her uncle, Nick Zeller, studying the people on that list.
There was no other way, their business catered to the super-rich; specialization is key, and both she and her uncle were very dedicated.
With this in mind, she seed to understand her uncle’s ticulous effort in compiling the "Family Histories of the Wealthy."
Otherwise, why would there be so many feng shui experts, but it was only her uncle who, after graduating from university in his twenties, beca an apprentice to learn the craft and had decent business?
Because genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.
Lawrence was itching to take out her phone and snap pictures, then do an illustrated explanation in the "Family Histories of the Wealthy."
But knowing Mason and Graham were present, she absolutely couldn’t take photos.
She could only use the corner of her eye to occasionally glance around the carriage.
Not far diagonally in front of her sat Caron Spencer and his daughter, whom they had encountered on the night Kenneth Osborne returned to River City.
In front of this father-daughter pair sat a wealthy individual with the last na Fu, who was stunningly handso; though aged, it was evident his looks in his youth were quite outstanding.
This magnate, Lawrence rembered, hadn’t made the list a couple of years ago, and this year he suddenly bumped Caron Spencer, who used to rank in the top three, off the list.
And right behind Mason and Graham sat the number one ranked on the national rich list, a mber of the Sheldon Family.
Seed like he was the CEO of Sheldon Group?
A middle-aged man who appeared to be broad-minded and cheerful, his looks could only be considered decent, but he exuded great charisma without an overbearing air, clearly showing a strong family background.
Staring at this carriage full of dignitaries and affluent individuals, Lawrence was truly amazed.
She was wrong; her uncle was indeed her uncle.
What kind of carriage was this?
This was a one-dragon service carriage for the wealthy!
No wonder her uncle said this trip was "prosperous" for them; it truly was prosperous beyond expectations, leaving her with only the ability to gossip, without any thought of climbing the social ladder.
The whole journey Lawrence was lost in these wild thoughts, and the ti flew by.
Six hours later, the high-speed train arrived in Capital City.
This ti, she, Nick Zeller, and Gabrielle Winters didn’t hurry to get up and exit the carriage but waited patiently until those ahead had all departed before standing up to disembark.
No choice, the people in front were big shots, while they were just small potatoes, they didn’t dare to move.
...
Coming out of the train station, Lawrence still felt a bit dizzy. She pressed her temples, with a sowhat silly smile, "Uncle, this trip was so worth it, I could brag about it for a year. — Super exhilarating, just too exhilarating!"
"Child, you think that was exhilarating?" Nick Zeller ruffled her hair, smiling amiably, "Lawrence, why do you think your uncle works so hard? It’s all for you!"
Lawrence burst into laughter, raising her hand, "Uncle, let’s high five! With the fortune and wealth of a trainload of the rich, our luck will surely be extraordinary this year!"
"Absolutely. When have I ever been wrong with my predictions?!" Nick Zeller said smugly, seemingly forgetting it was he who previously ntioned his accuracy was only "fifty percent"...
He handed his luggage to Lawrence, "Watch it for ; I’m going to get the car."
Nick Zeller had rented a car in advance, and they could pick it up at a nearby car rental after getting off the train.
Five minutes later, a low-profile and ordinary Toyota Camry drove over.
Lawrence tugged the corners of her mouth, "Uncle, I thought you’d at least rent an SUV..."
Nick Zeller had always derided the Toyota Camry as a "granny car," one that only elderly won would use for grocery shopping.
Nick Zeller chuckled, opened the trunk to put their three suitcases inside, then opened the car door, allowing Gabrielle Winters and Lawrence to get in.
As usual, Gabrielle sat in the back, and Lawrence sat in the passenger seat.
Nick Zeller started the car and said leisurely, "Since it’s rented, and we’re new here, we should keep a low profile on the first day. Being too flashy would imdiately attract the attention of the local land god, which wouldn’t be good."
Lawrence: "..."
Gabrielle just gazed absentmindedly out of the window at the street scene, without saying a word.
The three of them were actually quite exhausted after the six-hour high-speed train journey.
They reached the two-bedroom apartnt Nick Zeller had bought long ago, freshened up a bit after dropping off their suitcases, and then went out for dinner.
