Gabrielle Winters seed a bit startled, as if she was lost in so distant mory and couldn’t utter a word.
Nick Zeller glanced at her quickly, sowhat worried she’d get upset. He quickly softened his tone and continued, "Don’t you rember what happened when she was little? Why did we move from the big city back to this small place? Have you forgotten all that?"

She looked up with complete trust, her big, bright eyes pure as a newborn ragdoll cat, soft, aty, innocently naive, as if she would just ow any mont.
Nick Zeller knew Lawrence much better than Gabrielle did, realizing she wasn’t as pure and harmless as she appeared, but he didn’t mind this about Lawrence at all.
