Zoe Johnson smirked.
Their spokesperson, Lawrence Winters, was also Lucas Harlow’s new manager.
The boss’s preferences were quite obvious.
However, she kept smiling and stood up, saying, "Alright, I’ll get back to work now. I’ll wait for the boss and our spokesperson to discuss before making any decisions."
Edward Foster waved her off casually.
Once Zoe Johnson left, Edward called Lawrence Winters to his office via the internal line, saying there was sothing important to discuss.
Lawrence Winters quickly put aside her work schedule and went to Edward Foster’s office.
Edward was waiting by the door, and as soon as she walked in, he closed the office door.
Lawrence Winters: "..."
"Mr. Edward, is there sothing particularly important? You’re making a bit nervous."
Edward went back to his desk, gesturing for her to sit in front of it. He then showed her the two artist contract expiration lists that Zoe Johnson brought over, with a troubled expression, saying, "Take a look at these, it looks like there’s a rebellion brewing."
"What’s going on?" Lawrence quickly skimd through the list of nas, roughly twenty or thirty, all of them had contracts expiring within three months.
The most notable person among them was Arthur Johnson.
Even though Lawrence wasn’t a fan, she knew Arthur Johnson was NewHuman Corporation’s top star, a true A-lister, and rightfully the king of TV dramas.
Edward crossed his arms, leaned back in his leather chair, and frowned, "Just now, Zoe ca to saying that there’s a company reaching out to our artists whose contracts are about to expire."
Lawrence was slightly taken aback, "Soone’s trying to poach them?"
"Yes, you could say that," Edward nodded.
"But we’re an entertainnt company, isn’t poaching a normal thing? Why is Mr. Edward acting like it’s a crisis?" Lawrence asked curiously.
Edward stared at Lawrence, thinking that this girl was really sharp...
Could he admit that he was putting on this "crisis" act just to get closer to her?
Of course, he couldn’t say that.
But if he didn’t say it, he’d have to admit he was incompetent, a useless scion...
Edward agonized for three seconds between confessing his interest in her and admitting his incompetence, and ultimately, he chose incompetence.
Because if he declared interest now, he feared Lawrence would quit imdiately...
And he never ventured into situations without certainty.
Edward pursed his lips, saying, "Don’t hit where it hurts, Lawrence, there’s no need to diss like that?—Yes, I’m just an incompetent heir, can’t handle it."
He leaned forward, looking into Lawrence’s eyes, and earnestly said, "Lawrence, can you help ?"
Lawrence stared back at him for a mont, then the corners of her mouth turned up as she said, "Mr. Edward is too modest. When you were making waves in the entertainnt circle, I was still taking a break to recover from illness. How could you not handle this?"
She clapped her hands together, "But I understand Mr. Edward’s point, you’re testing my capabilities, right?—No worries! This ti, I’ll show you that your judgnt was right!"
Edward was slightly stunned.
He hadn’t expected Lawrence to be so eloquent. In just a few words, she resolved his awkwardness, demonstrated her proactive work attitude, and subtly flattered him!
This was different from any other girl he’d t before!
Considering she was just in her early twenties, fresh out of college, her maneuvers seed as though she had been working for over a decade.
Edward recalled his first working year and realized he never had such tact as Lawrence had.
He suddenly felt quite expectant of how Lawrence would handle this matter.
Edward couldn’t help but reveal a delighted smile, saying, "You have a high opinion of , what if I’m just an incompetent, wrathful heir?"
"Then you can count yourself lucky," Lawrence smiled calmly, "Having soone like to help ans you can continue living it up with actresses and not worry about company matters."
Edward was about to applaud when he felt sothing was off.
His smile froze, and after a mont, he explained cautiously, "Lawrence, I haven’t hooked up with actresses, those were all genuine relationships, all ex-girlfriends."
"Oh, oh, I misspoke, you can continue having love affairs with actresses!" Lawrence gave him a thumbs up, "As the president of an entertainnt company, all you need to do is enjoy yourself. That’s the only way to show that our company is fine and the world is at peace."
