Justus Spencer was overwheld.
After being abandoned by his father, the only support he had, his uncle, also gave up on him.
Returning ho, he stopped trying to use connections and instead started drinking, living a life of drunken oblivion to forget his failures and mistakes.
He didn’t even go looking for Thomas, and of course, he didn’t know that right after his dismissal, Thomas resigned swiftly and returned to his own country from Z City.
Molly Zimrman was over five months pregnant, but because of his dismissal from the Spencer Group, Justus didn’t visit her and instead returned to his own ho with his wife.
Two weeks passed by in the blink of an eye, and it was ti for her pregnancy check-up again.
Not wanting to go to the hospital alone, she repeatedly dialed Justus Spencer’s phone number.
At first, no one answered, and later it was a woman’s voice.
It didn’t sound like Justus’s wife, Eva Harris, and the voice didn’t sound young either, likely just his housekeeper.
Still, Molly didn’t dare speak up.
She had no choice but to hang up and try calling again after a few minutes.
After half an hour of dialing, she finally reached Justus Spencer.
"Justus, you haven’t been coming to see lately, the baby in my belly misses its dad," Molly Zimrman said sweetly.
Warmth filled Justus Spencer’s heart.
These past few weeks felt like an eternity, with his wife Eva Harris constantly sighing, which exhausted him.
Hearing Molly Zimrman’s voice now, he suddenly realized how long it had been since he last saw her.
Being with her was undoubtedly more comfortable than being with Eva Harris.
Because Eva Harris had quite a temper, often requiring him to placate her.
But in front of Justus, Molly Zimrman had no temper at all and always soothed him instead.
This dynamic usually wasn’t advantageous, especially when there was little love between them.
But once either a man or woman experiences a major setback, this kind of relationship becos invincibly advantageous.
For the first ti, Justus Spencer realized that even without the child in her belly, Molly Zimrman had already quietly moved into his heart.
His feelings for her unknowingly developed from lust to genuine emotion.
Justus Spencer tossed aside the wine bottle in his hand, struggled to stand up, and said gently, "Alright, I’m on my way, wait for ."
Molly Zimrman was deeply moved; it had been a long ti since Justus Spencer spoke to her this way.
She waited for over an hour, and finally, Justus Spencer drove his Ferrari sports car to pick her up.
Molly Zimrman ran downstairs herself, to the side of Justus Spencer’s car, bending over and waving sweetly at him, her smile radiant.
Justus had just showered, shaved, and changed into a new suit, finally dressing up again.
However, due to heavy drinking over the past days, he had dark circles under his eyes and his face looked bloated.
Molly Zimrman noticed and said with concern, "Justus, you look worn out."
"Is that so?" Justus Spencer touched his face, "You need to nourish well."
He got out of the car, walked over to Molly Zimrman’s side, and opened the car door for her.
As soon as Molly Zimrman sat down, she suddenly saw two burly n, the tattooed type, appearing from who knows where outside the car.
She was startled, then saw the two n twisting Justus Spencer’s arms and pinning him by the car door, gruffly saying, "Weren’t you supposed to send us abroad?! You bastard! How dare you trick us!"
Justus Spencer never expected to see these two again, and he said in shock, "Didn’t you guys get what you wanted?!"
He clearly rembered asking Hazel Winchester to find Ava Harlow for help!
And he had given Hazel Winchester a large sum of money...
The two n spat at his face, "You still dare to talk?! You tricked us to the border and left us! We fed the mosquitoes for several nights to get out!"
Justus Spencer understood and quickly said, "Misunderstanding! It’s all a misunderstanding! Don’t rush! I need to visit the hospital, let co back and personally take you to find soone, is that okay?"
The two n exchanged a glance and snorted, "If we didn’t see soone coming, we wouldn’t let you off the hook! -- Fine, we’ll be waiting for you!"
They threw out those threatening words, let go of him, turned around, got into a car, and sped off.
Justus Spencer rubbed his arm that had been twisted painfully, grimacing and groaning for a while.
He got back in the car, moved his arm around, and said through gritted teeth, "...Don’t let see them again!"
"What’s wrong? Are you alright? Should we call the police?" Molly Zimrman asked worriedly, rembering that she might have seen these two n before.
