Blake Leaf decided to go all in, "Call the police! Go ahead! Let’s see how they handle it then!"
"Are you willing to risk everything to bring the Emperor down?" Su Changfeng was trembling with anger; she clutched her phone, desperately wanting to call the police, but then she hesitated, could calling the police really solve the problem?
"You compare yourself to the Emperor? — How arrogant!" Blake Leaf shook his arms, his joyful mood had completely disappeared, "If I knew you were like this, I wouldn’t have bothered coming to find you!"
After saying this, he turned around and left, walking faster and faster, soon turning into a run as he fled from the building.
He left through the freight elevator, while the security personnel chasing him took the staff elevator, so they quickly lost track of him.
The security personnel returned to the eighth floor and apologized to Su Changfeng, "Miss Su, he ran too fast, we couldn’t catch up."
Su Changfeng waved her hand dismissively, her mood sinking to the bottom.
She sent everyone away and sat alone in her office, anxious and restless, not knowing what to do.
She canceled all of her etings for the day, not wanting to go anywhere or see anyone.
Until there was a knock on the door, and then soone pushed it open and ca in.
"I said don’t co in!" Su Changfeng raised her head angrily, only to see it was her husband Nathan.
Nathan was a year older than her, and it was clear that he had been quite handso when he was younger, though now there were signs of looseness on his face. However, dressed in a decent tan suit, he appeared very gentlemanly and elegant.
Wearing a pair of black-frad glasses, he sowhat resembled Colin Firth from "Kingsman."
Except he didn’t have blond hair, but rather a head of carefully styled black hair.
He sat across from her desk and smiled, "...Did he co looking for you? What did I say back then? Hesitating to act brings its own troubles."
"It’s easy for you to talk when you’re not affected!" Su Changfeng squeezed out a sentence through clenched teeth, "If you’re so capable, why didn’t you act first? Why did you insist I do it?!"
"Because he’s your biological brother, not mine." Nathan smiled more kindly.
"You’re still my parents’ lawyer..." Su Changfeng rolled her eyes, "If it weren’t for you..."
"If it weren’t for , you’d be raising your brother like a servant, only to end up with nothing when he kicks you out." Nathan chuckled and stood up, leaning slightly forward, with both arms resting on the large desk as if whispering, "But look at you now, a self-made woman entrepreneur, with half of the best comrcial real estate in C City belonging to Miss Su Changfeng. Even if you’re not on the national wealth list, you surely have a spot among the top hundred on the C City rich list."
Su Changfeng was speechless for a long ti.
Because everything Nathan said was true.
The little guilt she had left vanished completely.
Sitting back in her ergonomic chair with massage functions, twirling a pen in hand, she said thoughtfully, "I didn’t expect him to actually show up?"
"How did he suddenly find his way here? It’s been over twenty years, and even my uncle, aunt, and grandmother back ho don’t know about this... How did he know?"
"Could he be an impostor?!" Su Changfeng suddenly raised her head, saying excitedly, "I rember the family who picked him up moved away imdiately to another place! Even if he grew up, there’s no way he could find !"
Nathan squinted, "Are you sure you didn’t leave any clues?"
"Absolutely none. Even the swaddling he was in at that ti was exchanged by at the hospital with a rural family!"
Su Changfeng spoke with conviction, seemingly self-hypnotizing that this person was an impostor.
"Heh... In modern society, verifying family relations doesn’t require a bunch of old blankets, does it?" Nathan shook his head regrettably, "If he has normal cognitive abilities, he’d have already considered these consequences. As soon as DNA is tested, everything will be revealed."
Su Changfeng’s heart contracted, blood rushed to her head, and her complexion turned red, like a piece of liver that’s been on the butcher’s block for too long.
"...So, he ca prepared?" Su Changfeng looked up at the luxurious ceiling, laughing coldly, "No wonder he first pretended to be a student from Yanda’s journalism departnt, asking about my story from more than twenty years ago!"
"That’s right, that’s the real issue you should consider." Nathan’s smiling face suddenly turned serious, "And don’t forget, the company’s current scale was achieved through our joint efforts as a couple!"
"Starting now, if we make one wrong move, half of our assets could end up being divided among others!"
