"Do you not have any common sense?"

As soon as they arrived at a secluded area with no one around, Dein imdiately threw Grayson down. Grayson, who had been dragged along by the arm without resistance, hesitated but quickly regained his balance. Dein waited for him to stand up straight before speaking. Just as he was about to say sothing, his brow furrowed.

Grayson was looking down at him with a bright smile on his face. His cheeks were tinted a light pink.

What is this bastard thinking?

Dein muttered inwardly, and at his words, Grayson paused. His response ca a couple of seconds later.

"What?"

It was just one word, but Dein quickly let his words pour out.

"When a person is hanging on a wall, for whatever reason, they need to be rescued. No one in this world would ever say it like you just did. You might be able to think it, but you can't say it out loud."

He thought he'd explained it as simply as possible, but what happened next took him by surprise. He had expected a response like "Why?" or "What do you care?"—sothing along those lines. But instead, Grayson spoke up.

"Ah..."

The pink blush faded from his face, and the corners of his mouth drooped. Seeing the clear expression of disappointnt on Grayson's face, Dein naturally furrowed his brows.

"What’s with that reaction?"

With a blunt tone, Grayson muttered with a deflated voice, slouching his shoulders.

"Is that all...?"

"Is that all?"

Dein stared at him in disbelief. As expected, this guy is impossible to communicate with. I was wrong to even try to talk to him in the first place. Dein reluctantly accepted his mistake. At least the situation was under control, and he was satisfied with that. He decided to leave before anything troubleso happened again.

"Wait."

Suddenly, Grayson called out to him from behind. Turning around with an unpleasant expression, Dein saw him frown and stare at him.

"Is that all?"

"Yeah."

With just that short word, Grayson looked at him in disbelief, blinking in shock. But soon, his brows furrowed.

"Is that all you dragged all the way here for? Just that?"

He repeated the word "all" several tis, raising and lowering his hands. Seeing his reaction, this ti it was Dein who was left speechless.

"What the hell were you expecting, you damn bastard? What else would we be doing here?"

Grayson let out a short sigh. Seeing that reaction, sothing that had only been a vague unease in Dein's mind suddenly took shape. He shifted his weight onto one leg, leaning slightly as he glared at Grayson with a furrowed brow.

"You're not seriously thinking that I ca here to... do sothing like that, are you?"

Grayson’s lips curled up again, and the familiar pink flush returned. Damn it, that crazy bastard! Dein clenched his fist, shaking it in the air before letting it drop and speaking.

"That’s not going to happen. Like I said before, that was an accident, and it won't happen again. So erase it from your mind, understand?"

He then added sarcastically.

"Forgetfulness is a characteristic of you extre alphas, right? You should be used to it by now, considering how weird this is for you."

Dein tapped his second finger on Grayson's head, then turned to leave, imdiately regretting it. Was it really necessary to say that much? As he briefly glanced back, feeling an unnecessary sense of guilt, he froze. Grayson had a thoughtful expression, rubbing his chin with one hand as he stared at nothing in particular.

"What are you doing?"

Unintentionally, Dein asked, a feeling of unease creeping over him. As soon as he showed interest, Grayson looked at him with bright eyes, as if asking what had just happened, and answered.

"I was calculating how much pheromone needs to be built up to forget sothing."

Even though the answer was already ridiculous, it didn’t end there. Ignoring Dein’s incredulous blinking, Grayson continued, pretending to be serious.

"Last ti, you drained most of my pheromones, so it’ll take a while for enough to accumulate to forget. What should we do? It's a bit of a problem."

"Ha."

Dein let out a brief sigh before imdiately feeling ashad. Why the hell would I feel guilty about this, I’m the idiot here.

Cursing under his breath, he turned around, only to be struck with a new curiosity. Does this guy really have no concept of emotions at all? Furrowing his brows, he turned to look back at Grayson, who t his gaze imdiately, still wearing the sa silly smile.

"Have you ever felt sadness or happiness, or sothing like that?"

Grayson blinked, staring at him, as if asking, "What’s that?"

Dein felt a sense of hopelessness, realizing he was essentially trying to teach Helen Keller what water is.

After attempting to explain what he ant, Dein began to feel despondent. How the hell does this guy interact with people? Then it hit him—these extre alphas are all like this, so there probably isn’t anything too difficult about it.

"You know what fear is, right?"

Dein pointed out, and once again, Grayson tilted his head in confusion. Feeling his chest tighten, Dein asked once more.

"When I... took you, how did it feel?"

This ti, he was sure of what he wanted to say. He recalled the image of Grayson screaming in distress.

But once again, Grayson gave a completely unexpected response. Letting out a relaxed sigh, his face once again flushed pink.

"It felt good."

Dein was so taken aback that he montarily lost his words. For the first ti, he found himself at a loss for words and quickly shook his head, regaining his composure.

"No, before that. When you were running away."

He rushed to continue, eager to steer the conversation in the direction he wanted.

"You said you hated being raped, rember? Think hard, what did you feel then?"

Rember, rember. Now, he even felt a sense of duty and repeated it silently in his mind.

"Ah."

Did he finally realize? Dein’s expression brightened, but of course, it was an illusion. Grayson, still wearing a silly grin, replied.

"I don’t rember, it was so good afterwards."

"Goddamn, you son of a bitch!"

Dein kicked a tree standing beside him with a loud thud. Was it really a mistake to try to teach this bastard sothing? How did his parents raise this jerk? Whether to be amazed at the greatness of his parents or curse them for raising such an idiot, Dein was now uncertain. Just then, Grayson spoke up.

"Wasn't what I felt back then... joy or happiness, sothing like that?"

Seeing his expression of serious confusion, Dein suddenly felt his anger flare up. Rembering that the uneasy look on his face was nothing but an act, it felt like hitting a massive wall.

"No, you dumbass. That was just sexual pleasure, or the explosion of dopamine from pheromone release!"

Dein, who had spoken harshly, rubbed his throbbing forehead with one hand. How could he possibly make this guy understand? Recalling that, he impulsively spoke up again.

"You..."

He was about to ask how Grayson had felt when he was trapped in the basent, but he stopped himself. That felt like too cruel of a question. Even though he couldn’t know exactly what Grayson Miller had felt about it.

"Ha."

Dein looked up at the sky, letting out a deep sigh. Suddenly, everything felt aningless. What’s the point of all this?

"Forget it, let’s stop."

Dein muttered, his voice drained of energy, as he turned to leave. He vowed not to waste his ti on this futile nonsense again. It was wrong to waste energy on soone else’s affairs.

"Dein..."

Just as Grayson called his na, he was about to say sothing, but there wasn’t ti. Almost simultaneously, Dein’s phone rang, and he checked it without hearing Grayson’s voice. He tilted his head at the unknown number but soon pressed the call button.

"Hello?"

He responded briefly, thinking it might be a spam call, but there was silence on the other end. What the hell? Frowning, Dein was about to hang up, but just before he did, the other person spoke.

Uh, um... Hello.

"Who is this?"

Dein asked bluntly, and the voice on the other end seed to gulp before responding in a trembling tone.

Um, um... last ti... you said you’d go with to the hospital... right...?

The anxious, weak voice made Dein freeze. His steps slowed, then ⊛ Nоvеlιght ⊛ (Read the full story) halted.
