"Calm down, there’s no evidence for any of this. An extre oga? That’s a creature you might see once in a lifeti."

Grayson was lucky enough to know two extre ogas. One was Koi, the oga who gave birth to him, and the other was Angel, who had given birth to his friend Keith Pittman. But he only knew of them as "exists"—people whose lives had no direct connection to his.

But now, suddenly? Does this make sense?

His doubts kept rising, but his emotions betrayed his logic. His heart was pounding so fiercely it couldn’t be a lie. All his life, he had suppressed his instincts with logic. The only exception had been when he felt that “feeling” that he had found his destined partner.

He had fallen into the sa delusion every ti, regretting it, and now, just like before, he was shaken. Perhaps the person he had been searching for all this ti was that one.

‘Fire.’

In his unreasonable belief, the fortune teller’s words resurfaced. What he had scoffed at now felt like the only light that could illuminate his path. It wasn’t just a guess anymore—it was a certainty. That man was the real one. The way to confirm it was simple: et him again.

How?

Grayson hesitated for a mont, but then moved his feet and started pacing again.

Should I set the house on fire? What if I set fire to this hospital? How would I find him among the firefighters? What if he’s off-duty?

Unfortunately, his blurry mories gave him no clues. He tried to recall the person he had briefly looked at in the last mont. But since the man had been wearing a helt and approached from behind, he didn’t know what he looked like. He thought he might have heard his voice, but he couldn’t rember what was said, nor the tone of the voice now. Whether the person was male or female? He wasn’t sure. But it was probably a woman, since he’d said she had a big chest.

But there were no other clues. The voice had been almost a whisper, so even if he heard it again, he wouldn’t recognize it.

So should he burn things down until he finds out who it is? Too inefficient. Is there a more effective way?

...Right.

He quickly ca up with an idea. Grayson was heading east to et his father, Ashley Miller, just a few hours later.

The most likely future president. A forr representative of North Arica’s top law firm and ex-lawyer, now a senator. A forr ice hockey team captain in high school and a VIP. Standing over two ters tall, with platinum blonde hair, he was a striking extre alpha with a breathtaking appearance.

That was Ashley Miller.

The father of six children, he stared at his second son, Grayson, who stood across from his desk with his usual expressionless face. After listening to Grayson’s words, Ashley’s face didn’t change. After a pause, he slowly spoke.

“What did you just say?”

His voice was as low as ever, but asking him to repeat himself wasn’t like him. Grayson smiled brightly and looked at his father.

“I want to beco a firefighter. But since it’s not recruitnt season, I want to join as a special recruit. So I was hoping you could help with that.”

He added a bit more explanation to the earlier words and repeated them. Ashley, still expressionless, continued to look at him before moving his lips.

“What did you just say?”

“I want to beco a firefighter, father. Since it’s not recruitnt season, I would appreciate it if you could use your influence to help join as a special recruit.”

It would be understandable if Grayson felt annoyed by repeating the sa words for the third ti, but he still kept his smile. Ashley stared at his son’s made-up smile, which he had seen so many tis before. After another mont of silence, Ashley Miller finally seed to accept reality and leaned deeply into his chair.

“Why?”

“Helping people is a noble act.”

It sounded like a response straight out of a textbook, but of course, it wasn’t the answer Ashley was hoping for. That wasn’t sothing his son would say. Grayson, perhaps already anticipating Ashley’s cold response, added without hesitation.

“My destined lover is a firefighter, so I want to go and check it out.”

“Ah...”

Finally, Ashley narrowed his eyes and let out a long sigh. It seed like a “no wonder” reaction, but Grayson didn’t care and continued.

“Of course, there’s a chance I’m wrong again this ti. But you never know unless you try, right? You said I can do anything I want, as long as it’s not a cri. Helping others isn’t a cri.”

Grayson, who had apparently prepared this well, spoke smoothly, but Ashley gave no reaction. When the word ‘destiny’ was ntioned, his son beca unusually passionate, which seed to irritate him, but Ashley just stared at him with a smirk before asking.

“You know how many fire stations there are nationwide, right?”

Grayson hesitated for a mont but quickly smiled and answered.

“Of course, I checked.”

“From the fortune teller.”

“From the tarot cards.”

Grayson smoothly deflected Ashley’s sarcastic comnt. The reason he didn’t explain that there was a fire at the pheromone party site, and among the firefighters who responded, there was an extre oga who was his destined partner, was because he was sure that Ashley would just mock it. Ashley would be more likely to believe the ridiculous story of "the fortune teller said so." If he explained the pheromone connection, Ashley would surely think he had lost his mind. Grayson was waiting for Ashley’s response with that in mind.

Ashley stared at his son’s shiny face, which resembled his own father, Dominique, piercing through him. He instinctively suppressed the rising disgust and tried to see so semblance of his partner in his son, but it was futile. Ashley had faced this failure so many tis before, and he accepted reality once again without resistance.

“It’s good to have enthusiasm for anything.”

Grayson’s eyes glead at those indifferent words, and his ears flicked slightly. That was when Ashley’s heart softened sowhat. Still keeping his eyes fixed on Grayson’s ears, which shared the sa habit as his only oga, Ashley spoke again.

“Alright, I’ll help. But there’s a condition.”

“Yes, anything.”

Grayson imdiately responded without even waiting to hear what the condition was. Ashley thought about warning him, but he wasn’t in the mood to do so. Failure was an important lesson in life too.

“You have to stay for at least a year. Don’t quit.”

Again, Grayson froze and hesitated. The silence stretched longer than before. It was obvious why. If he failed again, he would surely want to quit right away. He needed to find his next partner as soon as possible.

No way.

Ashley, watching his son who was still pondering, added one more thing.

“Jackson complained to . He said you ruined his precious twins.”

“It was self-defense. They were trying to rape .”

Grayson flinched at the na he had forgotten, but quickly defended himself with a smile. Ashley’s eyes narrowed, and with a more cynical tone than usual, he replied.

“You provoked them by spraying your pheromones first.”

Grayson tried to argue again, but Ashley spoke first.

“I’m saying you should make up for it by serving the public. You want to find your precious destiny? That’s your problem, but you have to take responsibility for what you’ve done. You ca here begging for my help to use shortcuts, without any intention of taking responsibility for your actions?”

Even hearing such words, Grayson knew he deserved it. It was the truth, and there was no room for excuses. He hesitated to answer, his sense of foreboding that this too might end in failure holding him back. He had repeated the sa mistakes, believing in re hunches. Who could guarantee that this ti would be different?

But if this ti was the real deal...
