A sudden silence filled the chaotic fire station. Dane scanned the room, looking at his colleagues who were sprawled on the floor, groaning. They were soaked in sweat, and so of them, despite trying, collapsed again when they attempted to get up.
What the hell is going on here? It was hard to believe. These colleagues, who never fell behind in terms of stamina, were now so helplessly knocked out. He couldn’t believe it, even though he had seen it with his own eyes.
What was even harder to believe was that this man was standing right in front of him. Dane squinted his eyes and stared at the person. It was the sa man he had t a few days ago at the extre alphas’ pheromone party. The one who, without caring for the fire, released a thick pheromone that caused two ogas to lose their minds and laughed like a madman.
Could this bastard really be Grayson Miller?
Dane had thought it was just a fleeting encounter and had knocked him out lightly, never expecting to et him again.
But there was no ti to think longer. Grayson’s purple eyes darkened, and then he swung the crowbar he was holding. The heavy sound of tal cutting through the air hit Dane’s ears.
"Whoops."
Dane instinctively crouched. He narrowly avoided the strike and imdiately grabbed the item he had prepared beside him. Then, the white powder shot out with a loud, sweeping sound.
“Ughh—cough!”
The compressed powder sprayed out rcilessly. The strong pressure pushed the white powder out with such force that it was as if it devoured the very air, filling the room with a thick fog. The mist, like dense smoke, filled the space, making it impossible to see even an inch ahead.
A strange, bubbling growl escaped from Grayson’s mouth. The fine powder stuck to his skin, quickly invading his nose, mouth, and throat. However, Dane, «N.o.v.e.l.i.g.h.t» with an indifferent expression, continued to spray the powder at him, holding the fire extinguisher and pulling the safety pin.
The man, who had been causing a ruckus, finally lost his will to fight and started coughing violently. Dane stopped spraying, but Grayson’s coughing didn’t stop easily. Once he could barely breathe, he glared at Dane with bloodshot eyes and clenched his teeth.

“You know what you’ve just done?”
His voice was strained, as if he was trying hard to suppress his anger, but it was clear to everyone that he was absolutely furious. The n, who had been sprawled out on the floor, stared in shock, unsure of what to do, but Dane, the person directly involved, showed no reaction.
“I was just breaking up a fight.”
With that indifferent remark, Grayson’s anger exploded.
“Are you out of your mind? You can’t spray a fire extinguisher on a person! And you’re a firefighter!”
Despite the nacing tone, Dane still looked at him impassively.
“You’re an extre alpha, aren’t you? I thought stuff like this wouldn’t affect you.”
“Damn, this isn’t a drug! What are you talking about? You little bastard, did you do this on purpose?”
Grayson continued to yell. The calm, confident man had suddenly turned into soone completely mad. His behavior was so threatening that it seed like he was about to strangle soone, but Dane still spoke in his usual nonchalant manner.
“Is that so? Well, I guess it must be.”
At that mont, Grayson completely lost his grip on his rationality.
“You goddamn bastard! I’ll fucking kill you!”
With a loud roar, Grayson lunged at Dane. His montum suggested he was going to snap his neck, but Dane continued to watch him with the sa exasperated expression. With a short sigh, he gripped the fire extinguisher firmly, preparing to strike Grayson’s head.
"What's going on here!"
With the chief’s loud shout, both of them froze in their tracks. Grayson, who was about to swing the crowbar at Dane’s face, and Dane, who was about to smash Grayson’s head with the fire extinguisher, as well as the disheveled state of the fallen colleagues and the broken, chaotic surroundings, all ca into the chief’s view. He let out an exasperated sigh. The sight was absurd, and for a mont, he seed dazed, but soon he regained his senses and glared at the instigator of this disaster.
“What the hell is going on here? Why are you two fighting? I gave permission for you to stay here for a year, but I didn’t allow this kind of chaos!”
The chief’s words were all too reasonable. When Grayson was hired with special permission, there were several conditions attached. He had specifically asked for quiet and not to disturb the other staff, expecting at least a month of peace. But before half a day had passed, this disaster had happened.
That wasn’t the end of it, though. The chief’s reprimand shifted to Dane.
“Dane, you put that down right now! How could you even think of hitting soone with equipnt, huh? When I was at the police station, I didn’t say anything and even sent a lawyer! I understood you coming in at this hour, but what is this? Can you really disappoint like this? Huh?”
The staff looked away in silence, not daring to speak. Dane reluctantly set the fire extinguisher down, and Grayson threw the crowbar to the side. With everyone silently watching the chief, he fell into deep contemplation.
Should I just quit all the donations and things?
Looking at the miserable state of his colleagues, he wondered if changing equipnt and cars would even help. He knew who started this whole ss, but he didn’t have to ask. It was clear that Grayson Miller, with the help of his father’s power, had co to this station, and the possibility of him causing such a massive problem on the first day was nearly impossible. So it must have been his precious employees who caused this trouble, but he didn’t expect such strong opposition.
Especially after he had made sure to warn them.
But now, blaming Grayson Miller and kicking him out was impossible. After all, he was Ashley Miller’s son. If he was unfairly fired after being hired with such special asures, who knew what kind of havoc they might cause? They could demand astronomical amounts in damages. And even beyond that, there were countless creative ways they could tornt him. Moreover, if Ashley found out her son was treated like this...
She might put in the electric chair.
With that horrible thought, the chief couldn’t help but let out a groan. Shaking his head, he glared at the grown n who were still standing there.
“I told you to endure for just ONE year. Can’t you manage that? Where did you all leave your brains? If you have brains, use them to think!”
Although he wanted to beat up these big idiots, now was not the ti for that. First, he had to handle this situation. Yes, starting with Grayson Miller.
“...Are you okay? Hey, no injuries, right?”
The fact that he had to grovel and be so cautious like this was yet another blow to his heart, but it was too late. Once he accepted Ashley Miller’s offer, his future was sealed. For the next year, this kind of situation would repeat endlessly.
With another heavy sigh, the chief glanced at Grayson but only saw despair. Ugh, he groaned again, his thoughts turning to the new fire trucks and new fire suits that flickered in his mind.
He was going to change the old axes to new ones, buy five new fire extinguishers, and get extra oxygen respirators...
