"Hop." Elijah uttered as he let go of the Corrupted Harpy's ankle and landed on the ground.
Having spent quite a bit of ti to get here, he had learned a couple of things on the way.
'Slave A and B, keep circling above.' Elijah ordered telepathically.
Indeed, he had discovered one of the "Slave Mark" Skill's hidden features.
"Alright," Elijah whispered to himself as he stretched his arms up. "Let's see what this college campus looks like."
Having ordered the Corrupted Harpy to drop him dozens of ters away from the campus and behind a thicket of trees, Elijah needed to walk into the open to join the campus.
'Gotta make sure they don't see flying with Monsters after all.'
As he arrived at the college campus' entry,

"Don't co in!" A voice suddenly interrupted his thought. "If you co in, you won't be able to leave."
Heading the warning no mind,
'Slave B, try going through the Barrier and exiting.'
The Corrupted Harpy flying eighty ters up in the air executed itself.
It entered and exited the Barrier.
'That'll be useful... If you keep the ability to leave once I co in.' He sighed internally. 'Slave A and B. Stay eighty ters or less from at all tis.'
Through testing on the way, Elijah had noticed that ordering the Corrupted Harpies telepathically only worked as long as the distance separating him from them didn't cross one hundred ters.
'To increase that will require so more Sub-Skills to attach themselves to the Slave Mark Skill.'

Elijah nodded and walked through the Barrier.
He had entered the college campus from the back entry, so he was welcod by the athletic complex. The clean track fields and the impressive football field made him whistle.
'Guess I didn't co to the worst campus in the world. Bet they have an indoor pool too.'
A click of the tongue caught his attention.
"How can you be this stupid?" She sighed, clenching her fist for the hundredth ti. "Do you know what I would give to be out of here?"
For the hundredth ti, she punched the translucent Barrier.
"What are you doing?" Elijah asked after staring for a couple of seconds, his voice filled with utter confusion.
"Are you slow or sothing? I'm obviously trying to leave!"
"But... You can't?"
"Says who?" She shouted before punching the Barrier again. "I'm leaving no matter what, and it's not so stupid screen floating in front of that will stop !"
"Well, suit yourself." Elijah shrugged. "Can you tell anything about the Main Quest that's about to start? Or on the Tutorial Quest that happened here?"
"I don't know..." She punched the Barrier again. "Anything about the Main Quest. As for the Tutorial Quest... I don't know!" Another punch.
"You don't know?"
She curled her elbows and lowered her gaze towards her clothes.
"I was in the middle of gymnastics practice when... Whatever it was happened. I imdiately ran towards the exit, and have been here ever since."
"So you didn't fight or anything?"
"No." She frowned and turned back towards the Barrier. "I'm just trying to leave!"
'If it's similar to our Tutorial Quest, then making it alive out of the gymnasium might have been the Quest Clear Condition. In that case, yeah. Running away works.'

"You really should stop that." Elijah said with a sigh after another punch landed on the Barrier.
"Why do you care? You're not even a student here, are you?"
"Why would that matter now?"
"Please don't talk to ." She said coldly as her fist collided with the Barrier. "I don't talk to strangers."
"You're wasting ti. Where's your weapon?"
"Don't know." Punch! "Guess I let go of it when I ran here."
"Soone hardheaded like you isn't going to make it out of here."
"Like I said, why do you care? Leave alone."
An expression of utter disgust appeared on Elijah's face.
"You're going to die."
"That's none of your business, old man."
"Old man?"
"That's right. Please don't talk to , creep!"
"I'm only 23."
"And I'm 17, which makes a minor. Now go away!"
The blonde girl was adorned in a white leotard with pinkish stripes. It was too cold to be out wearing so little fabric, but given the circumstances...
'...' The disgust that filled Elijah grew as he saw her clench her fist again.
If there was one thing that he hated, it was stupidity. The stupidity in not seeing how the sa action won't lead to a different action. The stupidity in refusing to accept that.
As his lips parted, Elijah felt a tingling burning sensation coming from his tongue, which forced his hand to move towards his mouth, covering it.
"Stop that."
Her fist and whole arm suddenly froze before they could reach the Barrier.
With wide eyes, she tried to comprehend what was happening.
'I can move my arm, but the mont that I think about punching-'

"Oh, well." Elijah turned away with a shrug. "Why do I care?"
"Exactly!" She shouted dismissively.
Elijah took a step away, and the image of a young girl suddenly appeared in his mind.
The young gymnast kept staring at the translucent Barrier and at her fist alternatively.
"Just why can't I-"

She shuddered suddenly.
But before she could turn around, a Goblin ard with a Rusty Knife had already leaped towards her, aiming to pierce her back with the blade!
'Fuck!' She cursed as she turned around, not fast enough to react. 'I'm-'
Her eyes widened as a deadly punch landed on the top of the Goblin's head, causing its whole body to be launched against the ground and to bounce.

The speed with which the 23-year-old man had moved caused her to doubt her eyes.
She shuddered as he closed the distance separating him from her.
