"The Boss Monster of the Skeleton area is a..." Elijah pursed his lips. "Zombie? Type of thing?"

The creature, with a height of little below 200 centiters, turned to stare at him.

"Creepy."

Indeed, its back was still towards him. Only its head had turned 180 degrees.

"P-P-P..."

"Oh, you can talk."

"Please... Save... Save... eee!" The Zombie begged with a guttural and raspy voice punctuated by wheezing breaths.

"Interesting." Elijah whispered to himself as he leaned against the door separating him from the Boss Room. "Sure, I'll save you. I'm a nice enough guy."

"H....Hhhh... Heelp... eee!"

"Co then." Elijah knocked. "Co outside and I'll save you."

"Pleaaase! Sothing... Sothing fell... On eee!"

"Ouf." Elijah's eyes scanned the creature's body. Its clothes were torn, as if it had overgrown them suddenly. "You were turned into a Zombie? Did you fail the Tutorial Quest? Or did sothing in that room turn you?"

"Co... Co... Co... Help ee!"

"Hm." Elijah crossed his arms and thought, frowning. "On the offchance that you really were a person who was turned into a Zombie... Yeah, I don't think I'm going in."

The Zombie suddenly raised a foot and stamped, causing the ground below to crack.

"HEEEELP EEEE!"

"Hell nah."

The next second, two of the Boss Room's windows broke.

The Zombie's head started to turn and Elijah pushed the door open.

The Corrupted Harpies were fast enough to take hold of the Zombie's arms and immobilize it.

Before the Boss Monster could make a move, Elijah's knife went through its chest.

"Ew." He complained. The stench of decaying flesh was unbearable. "Move." Elijah ordered as gagging noises were emitted by the Zombie.

The Corrupted Harpies jumped back. So did Elijah.

The distance was just right for them to avoid being splashed by the disgusting green fluids ejected by the Zombie's mouth.

"Gross, dude." Elijah grimaced. 'The knife should have gone through its heart. I'll either have to lower its Health Points enough for it to die, or use sothing else to kill it. For Zombies, it's either decapitation, smashing them into a pulp, or burning them. Holy water might co into play in a later Quest...'

The ground below the Zombie cracked.

'Get out.' Elijah ordered telepathically as the Zombie launched itself towards the closest Corrupted Harpy.

Once both Corrupted Harpies left through the sa windows they had entered from, the Zombie turned towards Elijah, this ti with its body as well.

"Might as well try this, since it's my only chance." Elijah sighed, and the Zombie shuddered. 'I wanted a physical fight, but Zombies are known to contaminate humans. Can't take that chance.'

The Zombie suddenly jumped back.

"Scared of this?"

"Ple... Plea... Please! I just... Just want... Save !"

"How do you know what this is?"

"Please... PLEEAAAAAASE!"

"Hm..." Elijah thought as he waved the Basic Wooden Staff around. A weapon he had taken from the Goblin Chief Boss Monster. "Beco my Slave then."

"A... A... Anything! Anything... But that!"

"Yeah?" Elijah focused on the weapon, and he felt a foreign energy move through his arm and into the Basic Wooden Staff. "You sure?" He asked as flas started to materialize at the staff's end, slowly turning into a Fire Ball.

"Pleeaaaaaaase!" The Zombie shouted with a strained exhale.

"Aight." The Fire Ball dissipated and Elijah put the Basic Wooden Staff back into his Inventory. "Be a good boy now and..." He started walking towards the Zombie.

Once half the distance was crossed, the Boss Monster suddenly leaped forward with its arms wide open, aiming to take hold of Elijah with both of those arms.

Unfortunately, the Boss Monster's arms only caught air.

"That's..." He spun in the air and unleashed a devilish kick that landed on the Zombie's side and imdiately launched it into the wall! "A bad boy."

BAM!

"GRAAAH!" The Zombie scread upon impact. "Plea... Pleaaa..."

"Oh, well." Elijah shrugged as he took out the Basic Wooden Staff again. "Three out of four isn't so bad either."

"PLeaaaa-"

Marianne stared for a mont.

"Took him long enough." She sighed, staring at the floating words.

[Defeated Boss Monsters: 1/4.]

"I'm pretty much done on this side." Marianne scratched her head. "Should I go find him or...?"

"Are you seeing this?"

"We might make it out!"

"Maybe the police got here? Or the military?"

Katherine stared silently for a bit.

[Defeated Boss Monsters: 1/4.]

"I need to go."

"Wha-"

"Coach, where are you going? We need to stay here!"

"Katherine! You can't go out! There's..."

Without listening to their complaints or warnings, she ran out of the Safe Zone and the building.

'I can't let him do all the work. In all likelihood, no one is coming to help or save us. We need to do this ourselves! He's an outsider, yet he's saving our students... I can't let him do it alone!'

...

Ten minutes later,

"Do we really have to do this?"

"Yeah." Elijah nodded. "You did a great job clearing the east wing by the way."

"Give my achievents then."

"Aight."

[0% of your Enslaved's Achievents are yours.]

"Be grateful."

"Hell, no!" Marianne shouted. "You're already asking to do sothing super ridiculous!"

"Just do it. Stop complaining. Fine!"
