Chen Zhao’s phone rang. He looked at the number.
It was Kate, but why would she call him?
“Chen.” Kate’s choked voice traveled from the other end of the call.
Hearing her crying voice, Chen Zhao thought, no way. Did Kate fight with David?
Or did they break up directly?
And Kate wants to comfort her?
No, no, I can’t touch my bro’s girl.
Chen Zhao was imagining things by himself.
“Kate, what’s wrong? Did you argue with David?”
“David’s in the hospital.” Kate started crying again.
“What’s wrong? Is he sick?”
“He got shot, a serious injury. He’s in the ergency room.”
Chen Zhao shot to his feet. “What exactly happened?”
“I don’t know. I don’t know anything. I heard that he got shot in the police station.”
“What? How is that possible? In the police station...” Chen Zhao quickly asked, “Which hospital is he in?”
He hurried over to the hospital. Kate and a dozen police officers, including Sharan, were at the door.
“Chen.” These officers had interacted with Chen Zhao before, so they nodded or greeted him.
Chen Zhao glanced at Sharan. She nodded as well.
Kate pulled Chen Zhao to the side. There was inextinguishable anger shining in Kate’s tears.
“Chen, I want to kill the people who hurt David. You’ll help , right?”
No matter what problems they had, their feelings were still genuine.
The problems were due to their personalities, but they still loved each other.
Now that David was hurt, how could Kate calm down?
“I want to kill him with my own bare hands!”
“Kate, calm down. I trust that David’s colleagues will arrest him.”
Kate looked at Chen Zhao. “Chen, I have a USB. It has a video of soone in a Spiderman costu climbing CL Building on January 3rd.”

“I’m not threatening you. I just think that, since you have the ability, you shouldn’t do nothing.” Kate stared straight at Chen Zhao.
“Okay, I promise you. I won’t do nothing, but I have no ideas now either,” Chen Zhao said helplessly.
“I asked David’s colleagues. They said a group of criminals disguised themselves as Interpol agents and snuck into the police station. They wanted to rescue a prisoner. David discovered this and that’s why he was shot.”
“Do we know the prisoner’s identity?”
“A hit and run. He’s charged for dangerous driving and injury to others.”
“Hit and run!” Chen Zhao narrowed his eyes. “Could it be him?”
“You know him?”
“I killed and hurt so people at the hospital today,” Chen Zhao said.
“What’s going on?”
“DK?”
“Yes.”
Just then, Thomas brought people over.
“Hey, Mr. Chen, how co you’re here?”
“Wait.” Chen Zhao looked at Thomas’ group.
“What’s wrong? Sothing wrong with ?”
“Are you really Interpol?”
“Of course. Is there any reason to doubt us?”
“My friend was hurt by you Interpol.”
“Are you friends with the injured officer?” Thomas asked. “I know about it already. We ca just to ask about the situation.”
“Ask about the situation?” Chen Zhao sneered. “We should be the ones asking.”
At that mont, Sharan and the other police officers walked over too.
“Let ask you,” Sharan demanded. “Earlier, David checked soone’s ID and it said their na was Taoris Beck. He also contacted the L.A. office of the Interpol and they said that they’d indeed sent soone to release the prisoner. But in the end, Taoris Beck is a criminal.”
“I’m Taoris Beck.” A woman beside Thomas stood out. “My identity was stolen. While David called for verification, we indeed left and were on the way to the police station.”
“In other words, there’s a mole in Interpol,” Sharan said, looking at the group.
“We haven’t excluded that possibility. This is why we hope your station can work with us and catch the criminal together.”
“We won’t work with you.” Sharan had beco the representative of her station. “You haven’t even gotten rid of your mole. Why should we work with you? Co talk to us after you’ve searched yourself clearly and catch the mole.”
“We have a lot of intel on DK. Don’t you want it?”
Sharan and the officers hesitated. In the police system, killing or hurting an officer would lead to their systematic return.
All the officers would take revenge crazily. This was why the gangs weren’t willing to attack or kill officers.
Everyone in the station was furious now.
It would be a lie to say that they didn’t want to capture the criminal.
However, they didn’t even know who it was. They were like headless flies.
“Chen, what should we do? Work with them?”
“No, we’ll find him ourselves,” Chen Zhao murmured.
At that mont, the surgery room opened.
Everyone crowded over and Kate imdiately latched onto the doctor. “Doctor, how is David?”
“His life isn’t at risk, but he’s still too weak. I suggest you all don’t disturb him now.”
Hearing the doctor’s words, Chen Zhao was also relieved.
Everything was alright if he survived.
David was still unconscious, so Chen Zhao and Kate couldn’t go in and look.
Chen Zhao asked the doctor so professional questions. After confirming that he wouldn’t have any lasting effects, he told it all to Kate.
“Chen, you have to help David find those *ssholes.”
“Yes, I’ll do everything I can to find him for you.”

“Laurent, are you going out by yourself?”

Kane, Karim, and Howard were all speechless.
