The third option is to continue training in the basent, and when he reaches the maximum of Stage 2, he’ll wait until he collects enough Evolution Shards, and in the anti, EXP will keep accumulating. Flain chose this option because it’s the most active for him.

Flain plans to leave the Imperial City once he reaches Stage 3 because living in the nest of his enemies is a big risk, and he’s quite bored of constantly hiding — he’d finally like to fight as well. It occurred to Flain that he might even leave the Empire of Light entirely and go to so smaller power like a kingdom, because if he were discovered, there would be a higher chance of escaping.

-----

A slim, small man entered the Adventurers’ Guild. He was dressed entirely in black, even had a band over his mouth, and the only visible features were his silver eyes and black hair. That was Xyan.

Xyan entered and headed to the top floor to the door marked: "Overseer Chancellor."

Inside, the Overseer was seated, her cold eyes scanning the man. "Is the monthly surveillance completed?" she asked.

"Yes, but before I submit the report, I want to say that the Empire of Light is also interested in him. When I was returning to the Adventurers’ Guild, a man from the army stopped and dragged into a dark alley. He wanted to know everything about Flain. I couldn’t sense his magic energy, and I felt that if I resisted, things wouldn’t end well for . So I had to tell him," Xyan said.

"Hmh, he managed to hide his magic energy? So he must have had at least Stage 6. I expected the Empire to care about him, but I didn’t expect them to blackmail my spy," the Overseer muttered and slamd her fist into the table in anger — it cracked and collapsed.

"All right, give the report," the Overseer finally said.

"Every morning he goes to dungeon 11, then to dungeon 5, and finally to dungeon 15 — he spends two hours in each. No one has seen him fight yet. The only person adventurers have seen fight is his party mber nad Radail. I’ll tell you more about him at the end. Then he spends 5 hours at ho, where I couldn’t see what he was doing because all the windows are covered. In the evening, he goes to the bar where he chats with other adventurers, but he doesn’t drink alcohol or buy anything."

"Before Itai beca an adventurer, he went to dungeon 11 together with Radail, probably because he didn’t have money to pay for the registration. There, he t Morborn, who reportedly comnted — according to witnesses — that he had strange magic energy," the man continued.

"He lives in a villa on the edge of the city that’s rumored to be haunted because its previous owners have always disappeared, but Itai hasn’t vanished. Also, the seller from the place that sold the villa said a mysterious man bought it with him, a man dressed fully in armor — the interesting part was that his armor was full of holes. What’s strange is that this person has never been seen with Itai again," Xyan said.

"I know practically nothing about his past because, with the highest probability, he didn’t grow up in the Imperial City, and as soon as he arrived, he went to buy a villa. If you want to know sothing about his past, I would have to investigate the surrounding cities, and that would take more than a year. According to other adventurers, Itai has a very friendly personality, and everyone likes him. Now let’s move on to the party mber nad Radal."

When soone becos an adventurer, there’s a code on the back of the badge that also appears on the docunt containing the information they entered in the form, along with the date they beca an adventurer, the na of their assistant, and where they beca an adventurer. The back also states where they beca an adventurer so it’s clear where the file containing their information is located.

"Radal beca an adventurer right after Itai. His assistant is Ghas, and what’s interesting is that Ghas doesn’t rember him, so he must’ve found him unremarkable — which is strange considering his height of three ters. He’s a swordsman, which is odd because to he seems more like a tank, and his main trait is his body. He has talent F and Stage 2 Mid, which is very strange, considering he’s only 19 years old. Talent F usually reaches Mid Stage 2 at a minimum age of 50, and that’s with intense training."

"Radal has one strange incident. Once, he attacked the corpse collector Greg. According to Greg, Radal was trying to communicate sothing with his hands, and when Greg didn’t understand, Radal got angry and attacked him. Greg had to subdue him and throw him in jail. Later, Itai ca to pick him up. So with high probability, he has so kind of speech impairnt."

"And now we co to the strangest thing about Radal. While investigating his past, I found another adventurer nad Radal who died in the sa dungeon and at the ti those two were there. No badge was found on him, so we can’t say with 100% certainty that he was an adventurer, but according to his mother, he was. His mother also said he beca an adventurer on the exact sa day as the alleged Radal — sothing all of his friends can confirm."

"So my conclusion is that this man most likely stole Radal’s badge and is impersonating him. Which brings to the possibility that Itai could be a spy from another faction. But if he is, then it’s quite strange that according to my surveillance, neither Itai nor that man have been collecting any critical information," Xyan concluded.

"Hmmm, that’s quite interesting," the Overseer murmured.

"Alright, I’ll tell Ing to arrange a eting with him. We’ll see after that," said the Overseer.

anwhile, Itai was with Zheren in dungeon 5, fighting two large ice chaleons that used their tongues like frosty swords.

Zheren’s armor was covered in a layer of cracked frost. He had just crossed swords with one of the chaleons — but the chaleon withdrew its tongue and struck Zheren in the leg, which beca coated in a layer of ice...
