"Heart Demon?" Li Xuan’s heart slightly shuddered; an unusual unrest seeped into his mind.

The ’Heart Demon’ corresponds to the ’Heavenly-Demon’ as described in Buddhism; it is just known by a different na.

Taoism believes that Heart Demons are beings from the ’Outer Void.’ They cannot possess a physical form in this world, and exist only as conscious entities.

Heart Demons feed off people’s desires, drawing their strength from pilfering or corrupting the Tao Fruit and cultivation of practitioners.

Buddhism shares a similar view on Heart Demons, asserting that besides the human world, there exist six desire heavens including ’Four Heavenly Kings Heaven, Tavatimsa Heaven, Night Mo Heaven, Tusita Heaven, Huale Heaven, and Heavenly-Demon Heaven’.

Among these, the ’Heavenly-Demon Heaven’ is the first of the six desire heavens, ruled by the Sixth Demon King, ’Boxun’.

Legend has it that after Buddhism conquered the ’Four Heavenly Kings Heaven’, they appointed four great protector deities to guard this realm, becoming the protectors of Buddhism; they also subjugated ’Tavatimsa Heaven’, causing the master of this realm, ’Indra’, to beco the guardian deity of the Exalted One; and ’Night Mo Heaven’ was used as a habitat for their followers, enjoying eternal bliss under the constant radiance of Night Mo Heaven, where Qielan and Vajra among others abound.

Buddhism also transford ’Tusita Heaven’ into the residence of all Buddhas; and turned the countless powerful beings of ’Huale Heaven’ into their allies.

However, Buddhism was powerless against the ’Heavenly-Demon Heaven’.

Beings of this world would instinctively follow the Buddhas and disciples, attempting to disturb them, through temptation, coercion and other ans to obstruct their cultivation.

Both Buddhism and Taoism recognized the ’Tribulation of the Heart Demon’ as the most difficult tribulation to overco by cultivators.

The Confucianists were rather indifferent, as their divine skills and spells were scarce, rely interfering with the world through their heart and will, entirely reliant on miracles born from great strength.

Therefore, if a Confucianist lacked a resilient will, they could not reach the heavenly level. Who would fear any Heavenly Demon if they could cultivate to the heavenly level?

Of course, it’s a different case when people’s beliefs falter and waver like Wang Mang’s.

Li Xuan was also filled with doubts, how could Ao Shuying, who has rely advanced to the middle heaven level, attract the Heavenly-Demon?

Given Ao Shuying’s faith, will, cultivation, Martial Law, and divine power, she should not be coveted by the Heavenly-Demon.

These Heart Demons are beings that prey on the weak but fear the strong. They wouldn’t expend effort on those without hope, nor would they target an unblemished egg.

For example, Li Xuan, despite his cultivation soaring over the past year, had never seen the shadow of a Heart Demon.

Ao ngsheng was likewise stunned for a mont, his face a picture of disbelief. Then he gave a small sigh, casting a peculiar glance at Li Xuan.

This was a calamity of affection, a calamity of love—

Ao Shuying, who had never had feelings for a male, once she took an interest in a certain man, her mind and will would be extraordinarily shaken.

This was evident from Ao Shuying’s condition. At this mont, her dragon eyes were dilated, scales and skin randomly peeling away, the blood oozing from her body had turned a copper-gold color.

This was a sign that Ao Shuying could no longer control herself and had lost control over her transformation process.

She couldn’t even control her own vital blood, leading to a significant amount of blood imbued with her life essence to seep out.

Ao ngsheng initially didn’t care about Ao Shuying’s calamity, but now he couldn’t help but worry.

If Ao Shuying could not control her emotions, her desires, then this ti, there was a high chance she would fall to the Heart Demon.

Ao ngsheng could not understand Ao Shuying’s actions, thinking, "If you fancy him, why not have him? Why are you stifling and enduring yourself?"

Whether it’s affection or desire, unless you truly forego all worldly desires, it’s always better to relieve rather than suppress them.

Now it’s gone good. This has instead provided an opportunity for the Heavenly-Demon.

Looking at the faint mist hovering around Ao Shuying, and its increasingly forlorn shape, Ao ngsheng’s brows furrowed, his face turning as dark as water.

The ’Heavenly-Demon’ that attacked Ao Shuying is of a very high level, nearly reaching the level of being truly formless and invisible. This is a heavenly-level entity, and its interference with human thoughts is extrely powerful.

At this mont, despite his omnipotent power, Ao ngsheng was still at a loss. The Heart Demon resided in Ao Shuying’s Primordial Spirit. Can he smash Ao Shuying’s Primordial Spirit to extract the Heart Demon?

But how could he just stand by and watch as his sister fell today?

Just then, Ao ngsheng suddenly sensed an overpowering spiritual light. Instantly, he looked to the side unbelievingly.

"Li Xuan, what are you doing?"

At this mont, Li Xuan had actually summoned the Huntian Zhenyuan Cauldron from the distant sky.

Before Ao ngsheng had a chance to say anything, he saw Li Xuan smash the ’Huntian Zhenyuan Cauldron’ onto top Ao Shuying’s head, issuing a thunderous roar.

With this smash, Li Xuan almost exhausted all his strength, while that ’Four Images Refining Primordial Furnace’ shook furiously.

The ’heavenly level Zhenyuan’ he had accumulated for two months burst forth from it, and in just a flash, a third of it was drained away.

However, the effect was imdiate. The ’Zhenya’, the Rule of Extre Heaven, forcefully ’suppressed’ both Ao Shuying’s Primordial Spirit and the ’Heavenly-Demon’ within her Primordial Spirit, making their thoughts stagnate, unable to produce any consciousness.

Simultaneously, Li Xuan’s body was filled with Liuli Haoqi, which pervaded heaven and earth.

His pupils flashed a copper-gold color as he roared like thunder, "What are you thinking about at this mont? You can’t even focus and safeguard your energy, how are you going to transcend this calamity?"

This ’Thunder Sound’ directly shook Ao Shuying’s spirit from deep within.

As the heavenly level Zhenyuan within the ’Four Images Refining Primordial Furnace’ completely drained away, the suppression force also completely failed. Eventually, the pupils of Ao Shuying regained their clarity.

She stared into Li Xuan’s eyes deeply with her enormous dragon ones, before focusing completely on her own physical transformation.

On seeing this, Ao ngsheng felt a sense of relief.

He knew that the problems that followed would not be significant had it not been for the sudden manifestation of the Heart Demon. Ao Shuying’s middle heaven tribulation should actually have been a breeze.

Next, Ao ngsheng looked at Li Xuan with grateful and appreciative eyes, "Marquis of Guanjun, we are thankful for your help and support of Shuying. If it weren’t for you, Shuying would have undoubtedly fallen this ti."

His mind vibrating in excitent, he initially wanted to address him directly as brother-in-law, but then he didn’t feel too comfortable doing so.

The expression on Li Xuan’s face, however, was sowhat complex, "Prince, there is no need for such formalities, Shuying’s tribulation changed unexpectedly largely due to my involvent."

He isn’t so emotionless man — how could he not understand the reason for Ao Shuying’s budding demonic thoughts?

If before, he thought that the relationship between him and Ao Shuying was more of a ’friendship,’ now he no longer thought the sa.

Indeed, there is no such thing as pure friendship between n and won in this world.

"Moreover, my course of action only postpones her tribulation of the Heart Demon, once it occurs in the future, it will only be more severe."

Ao ngsheng thought that this indeed is a troubling matter, but the solution was right before his eyes.

He believed it’s better to make way than blocking up.

If only Ao Shuying could fill in the cracks in her soul, everything else could be resolved easily.

"Actually, I’m less worried about Shuying, and more worried about you, Marquis of Guanjun."

Concern filled Ao ngsheng’s eyes as he looked at Li Xuan, "The Heavenly-Demon is very vengeful. You’ve spoiled its good fortune this ti; it’s likely to target you."

Li Xuan sneered and waved indifferently, without giving a damn, "If it dares to co, I’d be more than willing."

Any follower of the Confucian school who could obtain the true teachings did not consider the Heavenly-Demon much of a threat. Li Xuan was no exception.

After hearing this, Ao ngsheng looked at Li Xuan with surprise in his eyes, casting his gaze to Li Xuan’s glazed column and his heart region.

"If I didn’t see wrong earlier, your Seven Orifices Exquisite Heart is about to form, isn’t it?"

Subconsciously, Li Xuan felt his heart, and then a smile appeared at the corners of his mouth, "It’s soon, it’s a matter of these days."

Wasn’t the purpose of his strenuous lectures during these two months to speed up the growth of the ’Seven Orifices Exquisite Heart’?

The day the ’Seven Orifices Exquisite Heart’ was completed would also be the mont he stepped into The Fourth Gate.

For him, it would be a transformation no less significant than advancing to the heavenly level.

"That’s very good!" Ao ngsheng was even more satisfied, he nodded, "When it cos to the Marquis ascending to The Fourth Gate, there will be a surprise from my East Sea Dragon Palace."

Upon hearing this, Li Xuan couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows, questioning the aning of Ao ngsheng’s words. What was this ’surprise’?"

From the sidelines, Xuanchenzi, who had been quietly observing, had caught on to Ao ngsheng’s change of mind.

He keenly noticed that Ao ngsheng’s attitude towards Li Xuan had changed significantly. Previously, he tried to pair Li Xuan and Ao Shuying together, not forcing anything if it didn’t work out.

However, now, if Ao Shuying didn’t end up with Li Xuan, she likely wouldn’t survive through the Heavenly Demon Tribulation of the Great Heavenly Position. Therefore, the East Sea Prince’s mindset was naturally completely different from before.

Xuanchenzi kept an emotionless face on, but inside he was thinking that he would have to notify Xue Yunrou about this as soon as he could.

So that his junior sister doesn’t think that he was just freeloading near Li Xuan.

Ao Shuying’s physical transformation was extrely fast. At this point, she had a broad range of believers, amounting to millions, which provided her with a steady stream of devout incense and candles. The power of people’s wishes was assisting her in continuously modifying her body.

However, at the very mont when Li Xuan and Ao ngsheng were in casual conversation, Ao Shuying’s dragon body had already been covered with a layer of dark golden scales.

The next instant, she soared up whole into the sky, breaking into the clouds above.

As Ao Shuying’s dragon body swept across, the abundant electro-optic lights and dark clouds swirling in the sky were swept away in an instant.

Originally, the Capital City’s sky was overcast, with a heavy rain gathering in the clouds. But as Ao Shuying’s dragon body rolled across, large shafts of sunlight suddenly shone down in an instant.

At this ti, on the streets, the temple priest of Immortal Master Shuide also let people lift the idol again and continued parading on the street. The people who had previously scattered to shelter from the rain also reassembled, following behind the idol happily.

Li Xuan looked dazedly at Ao Shuying’s agile figure in the clouds, then withdrew his gaze after a long while.

At this mont, he noticed that Dongfang Liang was also looking at Ao Shuying with furrowed brows.

Li Xuan laughed, "What’s the matter? Are you envious? It’s a pity that the laws of heaven stand above all else. Otherwise, I would be more than happy to see your ascension co to fruition."

Ao Shuying is a deity, a god of incense under the control of the Book of Jinque, and thus had the opportunity to ascend to the middle heaven position in this world.

But Dongfang Liang was constrained by the laws of heaven and considered a rebel by the Heavenly Court. He was probably denied the opportunity to advance to Middle Heaven for a lifeti.

As expected, Dongfang Liang’s gaze imdiately dimd, his face turning a touch of green-black.

But then, Lv Qiluo, who had been hiding within Li Xuan, suddenly interjected, "It’s not entirely impossible. You could use the Wenshan Seal to accept him."

Li Xuan’s eyebrows imdiately arched slightly.
