As Lei Yun spoke these words, not only did Li Xuan’s eyes reflect even more admiration, but Shi Xin was also taken aback for a mont.

"Gongsun Xue, she’s the beloved wife of Fumo Zhonglangjiang Wang Shouyi, and Lei Zhen’s sister-in-law?"

After getting confirmation from Li Xuan, Shi Xin looked at Lei Yun with a hint of admiration in his eyes, even mixed with a bit of envy.

Before Gongsun Xue got married, she was a renowned beauty throughout the Liudao Division, coveted openly and secretly by countless people who wished to win her heart.

"So, that night, you went to the first floor to et Gongsun Xue?"

Li Xuan put away his Great Rectitude, and asked formally, "Where did you et privately? How long were you together? And why did you choose that ti?"

"Madam Wang is usually very busy, and I rarely have the opportunity to et her. I had tried to get close to her several tis before but had been kept at arm’s length. So, naturally, I was overjoyed when I received the invitation and didn’t want to miss this opportunity."

Lei Yun answered aimlessly, "In a small storeroom behind the docunt departnt, I stayed there with her for about an hour before going back. I really didn’t do anything, Madam Wang and her husband weren’t getting along well, so she asked to talk."

Lei Yun now seed as limp as a frostbitten eggplant, slumped on the torturing rack, his face even showing a touch of desperate.

He thought that if he was willing to pay a price, Li Xuan could keep his secret, but he wasn’t so sure about Jianchashi Shi next to him.

After hearing this, Li Xuan responded straightforwardly with a bow, "Brother Lei, my admiration and respect for you are like the endless river, even like the unstoppable Yellow River! If you can survive from Zhonglangjiang Wang, I will definitely invite you for a drink."

As for Lei Yun’s claim that he was just chatting with Gongsun Xue, he refused to believe a single word of it. Only an idiot would believe they just talked for an hour?

However, Lei Yun’s preferences puzzled him.

Previously, Li Xuan thought he was infatuated with his sister-in-law, but now it seed that might not be the case.

Was it that he was into mature married won like Gongsun Xue, or did he use Gongsun Xue as a substitute for his sister-in-law?

About a quarter of an hour later, Shi Xin left the interrogation room with Li Xuan, looking perplexed.

"Incredible, it’s really incredible," he muttered and glanced sideways at Li Xuan who was leaving. "Lei Yun abandoned his post for a reason, but he hasn’t cleared his suspicion. Among all the people, he still has the biggest suspicion. He said he returned to the altar after seeing Gongsun Xue, but no one can vouch for him."

"If he could make ti for the sister-in-law’s sister, how likely do you think it is that he committed the cri?"

Li Xuan retorted, then waved his hand dismissively," If Jianchashi wants to continue torturing him, Li has no objection, you may proceed!"

He didn’t care what happened to Lei Yun. For people like Xiaowei Lei, they deserved to be punished!

As for the admiration and envy in his heart, he would keep them to himself.

As he went downstairs and was caught up by Luo Yan, her face filled with astonishnt, "Lei Yun, he was actually involved with Gongsun Xue? Where did they go that night?"

"Otherwise? I don’t know if they were intimate, but they definitely t privately."

As he spoke, Li Xuan wondered. If the insider wasn’t Lei Yun, then among the nine suspects, who was the real perpetrator of the bombing?

"This Xiaowei Lei is indeed not ordinary."

Luo Yan praised in admiration, then shifted her tone, "By the way, one of my informants said she has located the Demoness Zidie."

A sarcasm tugged at the corner of her mouth, "These people have quite a wishful thinking, but they are undervaluing the Demoness Zidie."

Li Xuan’s spirit was stimulated upon hearing this, "Where are they located?"

"I have already inford your housekeeper." Luo Yan looked around, laughing scornfully, "Are they waiting for you?"

At the sa ti, in a wooden house located in the dense forest outside Jinling City, ’Zidie’ woke up for the third ti since leaving prison. She slowly opened her eyes, looking at a few people in the room illuminated by the fireplace.

The old man dressed in blood-stained clothes, standing a few steps away, was Xue Wuya; Shenhui was in a monk’s robe, holding a rosary, saying words under his breath. There was also a woman in green in the corner, her face hidden by a veil and wearing a tall hat.

"Has she woken up?" Shenhui noticed Zidie’s movent. He turned his head and smiled at her, "Why do this to yourself? If you still refuse to speak, my thods won’t stop there. At least, the investigators from Liudao Division have their limits and won’t torture you harshly, but I and my friend Xue have none."

The woman in green purposely lowered her voice to make it unrecognizable, "I can vouch for them, just hand over the stolen silver coins, and we will let you go imdiately. With your divine skills, you could easily gather a fortune. Why should you suffer like this over such a small amount?"

Xue Wuya looked at the pair with cold, piercing eyes, "We may as well use torture! The Liudao Division is closing in on us, we have at most half a day here. When she can’t take it anymore, she’ll naturally confess."

Shenhui, however, simply watched Zidie with a steady gaze. Seeing her wooden expression and no intention to speak, he smiled slightly, "Esteed elder, you are mistaken. This woman is hard-hearted, and ordinary thods won’t make her submit. The brothers outside seem to be rather taken with her, and even I, the humble monk, have been stirred by earthly desires. Why don’t you two step outside for a while and let ’process’ this demoness properly... of course, if you’d prefer to watch, that’s also acceptable."

His lips curled in a smirk as he pressed his hands together in prayer, "My Buddha is rciful, granting this destined encounter with this female patron."

At this, Xue Wuya furrowed his eyebrows, remaining still. The woman in erald attire, her face veiled, hesitated only for a mont, then stepped toward the door, "Make it quick. We need to move by the afternoon."

The seemingly dull eyes of the Demoness Zidie started to gleam. She glanced at them without any emotion and said flatly, "I’ll talk!"

The woman in erald attire froze, quickly turned around to face her. A hint of delight spread across Xue Wuya’s face. Only Shenhui showed signs of disappointnt, "The female patron should be more resolute. This humble monk has been looking forward to this, what a pity."

Zidie then turned her gaze to the woman in the erald-green dress, "I can tell you the location of the treasure vault, but only you. I can trust you at least a little amongst the three of you."

Her eyes turned thoughtful, "If I’m not mistaken, only you can make decisions here, right? Are you sure there won’t be any mishaps after I disclose the location of the secret hoard?"

At her words, both Xue Wuya and Shenhui displayed clear displeasure. The woman in the erald-green dress, after a brief mont of consideration, approached Zidie, "The two of you, step out for a while. Go twenty yards away."

Then she cast her icy gaze, sharp as a spear, at Xue Wuya and Shenhui who were still standing there, her eyes colder than ever, "Sa ssage. Don’t make repeat it a second ti."

As the two left the room disgruntled, the woman in erald attire cast her disdainful gaze at Zidie, "You can start talking now. As long as what you have satisfies , I’ll let you live."

"Aren’t you making a pledge? You don’t seem sincere at all not doing so."

Zidie chuckled and looked solemn, her voice as delicate as silk, "I’m sorry, I deceived you. The wealth that I, Zidie, painstakingly gathered over the years will never fall into the hands of ambitious wolves like you."

"You!"

Just as a look of fury flashed in the eyes of the woman in erald attire and she raised her hand to slap Zidie, her neck suddenly collapsed inward as if struck hard by a palm strike at the throat, breaking her neck and spinal cord. At the sa ti, purple fire butterflies started to flutter off Zidie’s body.

"How shall I put this? It’s thanks to you that I can cleanse my identity! Zidie no longer exists in this world. Of course, the so-called Zidie’s treasure vault only you in this world will know. How’s that for a script?"

The face of the woman in erald attire changed slightly. In a knee-jerk reaction, she conjured a giant hand with her Mana, reaching out to the purple fire butterflies.

But her grab ca up empty, only managing to shatter the nearby wall.

"What happened?"

Xue Wuya and Shenhui, who were twenty yards away in the blink of an eye, reentered the ruined wood house. They looked at the broken-spined corpse of the Demoness Zidie, then at the woman in erald attire, their eyes flashing with a peculiar light.

The woman in front of them was far crueler and ruthless than they had imagined.

The woman in erald flew into a rage, "She didn’t say anything just now! I’m not so stupid as to kill the goose before I get the golden egg."

At her words, Xue Wuya and Shenhui exchanged a look, unreadable expressions in their eyes.

Just as the woman in erald attire’s anger was about to explode, their faces all changed slightly, turning towards a figure carrying a huge sword dashing out of the woods.

"Sima Tianyuan?"

"Finally found you guys!" Sima Tianyuan’s eyes were filled with a slight red hue, "I finally earned a few days off recently, but you scoundrels forced to work overti. You are all worthy of death!"

He swept towards them like a storm, landing in front of the ruins with mountain-like montum. The ground in the area imdiately collapsed as if struck by a giant hamr.

Shenhui bore the brunt of the attack, coughing up a mouthful of blood. Sima Tianyuan then aid his heavy sword at the woman in erald attire, who reacted by raising her hand swiftly. In an instant, twelve half-moon-shaped blades shot out from her sleeve.

Four blades rged into one, forming a moon-shaped shield and blocking Sima Tianyuan’s sword attack. The remaining eight cold lights interweaved and transford in the air, weaving a lethal net of light.

In just the first encounter, a wound had been cut on Sima Tianyuan’s shoulder.

Now, torches were appearing in the surrounding woods. Hundreds of demon slayers from the Liudao Division had completely surrounded the area, with several Fumo Xiaowei among them.

"Let’s go!"

The woman in erald, having fended off Sima Tianyuan, let out a harsh laugh, "You lot are delusional if you think you could capture us with your shoddy skill level!"

With those words, the eight cold lights struck out in unison, sweeping across and creating lethal blade lights.
