Ning Yechen wasn’t pleased at all. He had already given up the chance to bathe with his wife, and now, Luo Ruxin wanted to take away his rare opportunity to cuddle with her overnight.

"Sister, I haven’t seen you in so long," Luo Ruxin said, clinging to Luo Ruying’s arm and gazing at her with hopeful eyes. "There’s so much I want to talk to you about~"

Luo Ruying hesitated for a mont, then looked apologetically at Ning Yechen and gently asked, "Husband, could I trouble you to sleep in another room tonight?"

She really wanted to catch up with her sister, and there were so things she wanted to say to her in private. Although it wasn’t fair to Ning Yechen, she figured he could endure this small inconvenience. After all, they would have plenty of opportunities to share a bed in the future.

"Dear…"

Hearing her request, Ning Yechen looked utterly reluctant and pitiful, his eyes pleading with her. Bedti was the part of the day he looked forward to the most, but now, he had to give it up because of this sister-in-law!

Luo Ruxin peeked out from behind Luo Ruying, shooting Ning Yechen a smug, triumphant look.

Ning Yechen’s frustration flared. If she weren’t his sister-in-law, he would’ve taught her a lesson by now!

Seeing Ning Yechen’s almost pitiful expression, Luo Ruying couldn’t help but chuckle. She felt a little guilty, knowing it was unfair to him. So she leaned in close and whispered softly in his ear, "Husband, I’ll ask her to leave in a few days. Please bear with it for now. Afterward… I’ll make it up to you."

Make it up to ? Ning Yechen’s eyes instantly lit up. Without hesitation, he declared, "Don’t worry, Dear! I’m not petty like that! You sisters can share the bed tonight."

Luo Ruying: "…"

Watching Ning Yechen’s attitude shift so quickly, Luo Ruying almost regretted her words. A mont ago, he had looked so unwilling.

But since she had already said it, she couldn’t take it back.

In the bedroom, Luo Ruxin wasted no ti and sprawled across the bed, greedily inhaling the scent of the sheets, a blissful expression on her face. "Ah… Sister’s scent…"

It had been so long since she could lie on the sa bed with her sister and bask in her presence.

"You! Stop doing those strange things," Luo Ruying said with exasperation as she sat on the edge of the bed, combing her hair.

This girl just wouldn’t grow up. Still, seeing her act just like she did when they were young brought warmth to Luo Ruying’s heart.

To avoid disturbing Ning Yechen and their daughter, Luo Ruying had asked him to look after Luo Hongye for the night. From the neighboring room, the sounds of Ning Yechen and their child laughing and playing drifted over.

"Up we go!"

"Heehee! Daddy’s amazing!"

Luo Ruying heard their laughter, and a gentle, radiant smile appeared on her beautiful face. He really was sothing else. Even when it was almost bedti, he was still playing with their daughter.

On the other hand, Luo Ruxin sulked with her chin resting on her hands as she watched her sister smile. She had originally planned to sleep with her sister and niece tonight, leaving that man to sleep alone. But her sister insisted on letting Little Yeye stay with him, and the girl had even said she didn’t want to leave her daddy alone…

The child was so sweet and considerate that Luo Ruxin could only reluctantly give up.

"Sister, can I ask you sothing?" She broke the silence, her eyes fixed on Luo Ruying’s graceful figure.

"Hm? What is it?" Luo Ruying turned to her curiously.

"Why did you choose that man?" Luo Ruxin asked bluntly, her tone tinged with dissatisfaction.

Given her sister’s status and position, she could have had any man she wanted in the Heavenly Realm. Luo Ruying’s dazzling silver hair and extraordinary beauty had made her famous across the celestial domains from a young age. With her outstanding talent in cultivation, countless suitors from powerful factions had lined up to propose. Yet sohow, her sister had chosen a mortal who, apart from his looks, seed utterly ordinary.

Caught off guard by the question, Luo Ruying blushed deeply, at a loss for words. Strictly speaking, it wasn’t that she had chosen Ning Yechen.

At the ti, she had had no other choice… But that was sothing she couldn’t say aloud.

With her personality, If Luo Ruxin knew the truth—that her sister had been forced into the relationship out of desperation—she would undoubtedly fly into a rage and demand justice, possibly even kill Ning Yechen directly.

"H-he’s… he’s a good person," Luo Ruying stamred, her face burning as she tried to deflect the question.

"Huh? Good?" Luo Ruxin pressed on, her brow furrowed. "What’s so good about him?"

Her sister’s vague answer only made her more suspicious. And why was her sister’s face getting redder by the second?

"Sister, why are you blushing…?"

"W-what?!" Luo Ruying quickly covered her flushed cheeks. "I must have stayed in the bath too long."

Curse this girl for making think of things I shouldn’t!

"But you still haven’t said what’s so good about him!" Luo Ruxin continued asking.

"That’s your brother-in-law," Luo Ruying said firmly, lightly knocking her sister on the head. "Don’t be so rude!"

Then, as she thought about her ti with Ning Yechen, a soft smile graced her lips. "Even though he’s just a mortal, he’s very responsible and kind. He treats both and our daughter with so much care…

"And don’t underestimate him. His family has been healers for generations, and he’s highly skilled in dicine.

"He’s also wonderful at taking care of people and making our daughter laugh…"

"But Sister, he’s still just a mortal," Luo Ruxin interrupted, unable to hide her disapproval.

While the qualities her sister ntioned sounded nice, they all felt far too ordinary. More importantly, a mortal could never truly protect her sister.

The gulf between mortals and cultivators—in status, power, and lifespan—was simply insurmountable. Mortals lived fleeting lives, rarely surpassing a century. When that man inevitably passed away, Luo Ruxin knew her sister would never take another partner.

Would she spend the rest of her life mourning him?

The thought alone made Luo Ruxin adamantly opposed to Ning Yechen as her sister’s husband.

Luo Ruying, understanding her sister’s concern, smiled gently. "Does it matter if he’s mortal? As long as he’s soone I can entrust my life to, that’s enough."

She chuckled and added, "One day, when you find soone you love, you’ll understand."
