I walked past the bonfires to ensure that my subordinates were in top condition. They were cooking food using cast iron pots. Every group I passed paid my respects.
A succubus then landed in front of and knelt down. "I've looked around and found nothing, Your Honor."
"I see. It's okay." I looked around. "Where is your friend?"
The succubus widened her eyes. "I-I don't know, my lord. I thought she was here first."
I'll ask again just as the communication icon in my UI lights up.
"This is Pentia, my lord." The gasping voice of the succubus I sent away appeared in my ears. "I don't have much ti."
I frowned. "What do you an?"
"The shadow organizations are located in the east, about 5 miles from where we rest." Pentia's breath beca increasingly ragged, and her mouth let out a violent cough.
"What happened?" I felt sothing was wrong. "Where are you? Let us find you."
"I was at the top of a tree…. And I don't know where it was…. That's not important, Your Majesty…. I just wanted to let you know that about half a mile from the base location, there will be a lot of archers who can shoot upwards at full speed.… So, flying any height above that place is pointless…."
"We'll help you, Pentia." I gave a hand signal to my subordinates. "So, give us a clue about your location..."
"No..." The succubus cut off with a sob. "It's no use, my lord…. I just wanted to leave a ssage for Nymira, my best friend…. Tell her that I really love her…."
And the call was cut off. I then turned to a succubus who had landed in front of . "Your na is Nymira, right."
"That's right, my lord." She gulped.
I find it hard to open my mouth again. "Pentia said she loves you."
Nymira's eyes widened. "W… Where is she now?"
I sighed and shook my head.
Xenora crouched down and hugged Nymira's body. The other succubi then followed suit as Nymira began to cry.
anwhile, I walked to the center of the camp, looking at my subordinates who had already stood up.
"Our friend Pentia has sacrificed her life just to get information about the organization's location!" I let my emotions overflow through my voice. "Don't let her death be in vain! We must destroy that place tomorrow!"
I walked back to Nymira. "I'll call this mission operation Pentia. This is in honor of her. Your friend is the most important soldier on this mission. Without her report, we may not be able to continue."
Nymira stood up, wiping her tears. "All hail, Lord Vorn!"
"All hail, Lord Vorn!!!" My subordinates chid in unison by raising their hands.
Losing one of my soldiers was a pity. However, monts like this can be used to ignite the spirits of my subordinates.
I have to see the opportunity in any situation as much as possible.
***
The magic-using shapeshifters had already brought out the undead from the pocket dinsion. My other soldiers and I were walking behind those lifeless creatures.
Xenora sniffed. "I can sll humans already."
"So, we're close." I hissed.
Suddenly, from the front row ca a sound like sothing had hit hard, accompanied by the sound of things flying.
As expected, this Shadow organization uses traps. Maybe those noises ca from the holes that were covered and sharp objects placed in the bottom. In addition, there are also threads that will trigger flying weapons if you trip over them.
However, it was not a problem for us. The victims were lifeless creatures, after all.
The sounds grew bigger, this ti followed by the voices of people screaming.
It seed the shapeshifters at the front had already mobilized the undeads to attack the hiding mbers of the shadow organization.
No one can find the shapeshifters controlling the undeads because they disguise themselves as those lifeless creatures.
"Have you seen anything?" I asked one of the shapeshifters.
"We've found so devices that shoot arrows from the top of the tree, Your Honor." He explained. "But we already killed the users."
Ah, maybe it was the device that shot Pentia yesterday. I didn't find those devices in the back then war. Is this sothing new for shadow organizations to try out?
Maybe, but I don't care about that. The important thing is that I can use it as my new toy to fight.
And perhaps, within the organization's headquarters, there are many other things that I can take advantage of. Yes, it's not just about beating them.
"Sir, I saw so kind of gate in a large boulder. It didn't attract attention because it was blocked by bushes and other plants." The shapeshifter reported again.
My smile widens. "Then, smash it."
"Very well, sir."
Even though I couldn't see directly, I could tell the undeads with bombs on their bodies were running towards the gate.
And not long after, a series of thunderous explosions echoed, sending flas blazing in the distance.
"Attack!!!" I scread with all my might.
We ran among the trees. The screams of humans could be heard from a distance, a sign that the battle there was already underway.
Then, three undead wyverns flew over us.
"You must see this, my lord." This ti it was Emily who spoke through the long-distance communication feature. "No wonder they're hard to find."
I flew up but found only the sa sight: groves of green trees, apart from the fire from the explosions.
"I didn't see anything strange…." I gasped as so of the trees disappeared, revealing a small settlent with buildings of various sizes.
Emily stopped her undead wyvern beside . "Ah, that place looks depressing. The buildings are awful. Our base is much better, my lord. The governnt doesn't care about the welfare of the shadow mbers at all, huh? Well, they're disposable, after all."
"Perhaps because of the effects of the explosion, the disguise magic of this place was broken," I muttered as the trees covering the organization's base reappeared.
I then looked at the other two wyverns flying around that place.
"Looks like they don't have long-range air attacks anymore. We've already disabled them. So far, no attacks on us." I moved to watch the undead troops that had already rushed into the settlent. They get pretty strong resistance from the organization's mbers, who are far fewer in number.
I opened a communication line with Xenora. "Let's bomb them."
