"I know about that, sir." She replied. "A mare can use his victim's greatest fears as nightmare fuel. They can even drive their victims crazy from that."
I kept silent, pretending to wait for her answer. "Is that all you know?"
The doctor frowned. "Yeah, sir…. Is there anything else?"
"To discover the target's greatest fear, a mare must delve into his victim's mind." I put on a aningful smile. "So, basically, a mare can read anyone's mind."
She widened her eyes and hissed. "You're offering your mare to read my mother's mind, sir?"
"You said your mother couldn't talk anymore, right?" I can notice a hint of curiousness on her face. "This is my paynt to you for helping us."
Seeing her brow furrow as if she was in deep thought, I raised my hands. "Don't worry, I'll ask Szur not to dig into sensitive mories."
"I do want to know what my mother thinks." She looked at the door with teary eyes. "But…. Sorry in advance…. You are a demon, sir…. The first rule of dealing with demons is never to trust them."

This is very ironic. Lexi couldn't think straight after I persuaded her, so she let Szur read her mind. That's actually very risky. She is so vulnerable by sleeping on the bed like that.

The little creature cleared its throat. "She likes to be completely naked when she works alone, my lord."
"That's fascinating." I nodded in amazent. "Then?"
Lexi widened her eyes, and her face turned red.
Szur continued. "She also likes to..."
"It's enough!" The doctor hastily covered the mare's mouth. "I believe in you!!!"
Seeing and Ayre just staring at her, Lexi raved. "I did sothing like that without any tendencies! I just feel comfortable working naked! Not that I'm an exhibitionist who likes to show off my private parts! I…. I…."
Seeing that the woman was on the verge of tears, I crouched in front of her. "Your secret will be safe with us. Now, let's go to your mother's place."
She wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes, then nodded.

I helped Lexi up, then moved to her mother's room. Szur climbed onto the old woman's chest, crouched there, then his form disappeared from view.

The doctor gulped. "W-what did you see in her mind, Sir Szur?"

Lexi's eyes welled up with tears. "Is that so?"
"She is indeed a little afraid of the path you choose. She still wants you to beco a healer like her." Szur continued. "However, your mother just wants you to be happy, Doc. She's also happy to see you smile while studying demons."
Lexi walked to her mother's bedside. "That's why you never say anything about reading forbidden books, mom? Is that also why you never scold when I buy demons-related things?"
Lexi's mother remained silent and kept her eyes closed.

The little creature looked at . His eyes were still teary. "That was not an act or a lie, my lord. Everything that cos out of Szur's mouth is true."
Holy shit. You are full of surprises, Szur.
"All this ti, Szur has always been digging into the bad side of humans. Only now have Szur discovered this." Szur looked at Lexi, who was still crying beside her mother. "Now Szur understands why you don't want to destroy the humans right away."
Oh, Szur. That's not entirely true.
