"How long are you going to do this, Kaine?" Fergus makes a sound like a growl.
"I told you, shut up." Kayla scratched her hair in frustration.
Kaine tilted his head, and finally, the glass case door opened. He then ran outside in an instant.
"Snap into that armor, now!" Fergus gave the order.
Kayla hurriedly opened the face of the armor, then put Fergus' skull in there.
"I need ti, Kaine!" Fergus shouted as Kayla closed the armor lid. "Hold them from getting here!"
Even without being ordered, Kaine would have done that. He is already outside, look around to see who's coming. The flying sound is gone.
The vampire jumped to the side, avoiding a succubus about to claw him. Another succubus then ca and grazed Kaine's arm with her wings.
Just as Kaine was about to counterattack, the third succubus grabbed his body, then threw him hard against the cave wall.
"Ugh…" He fell to the ground, and Xenora flew towards him. Kaine struggled to avoid a kick combination from the forr general.
The kicks hit him in the face several tis, causing that man to stagger. He had to shape his blood disks into sothing like a surfboard, then fly away as far as he could from the succubus.
It's much more difficult than before. Those won are different from Velvet's bodyguards. The movents of the winged creatures were faster and more unpredictable. Looks like they are using their instincts to attack, similar to wild beasts.
"Hurry up, Fergus!!!" Kaine was overwheld by the succubi that were chasing him from all directions. And his situation got worse because the blood surfboard he used sucked up his mana quickly. That was why he didn't want to use that thing in the first place. "I can't hold them any longer…."
Felt an overwhelming killing aura behind him, Kaine looked back to check, and Xenora's kick hit his head very hard. The vampire dived hard and landed on the ground.
"Check inside!" Xenora exclaid. "Let him be my business!"
The three succubi went to Ayre's research room. anwhile, Xenora stomped on the back of Kaine's head, forcing the male vampire's face into the ground.
"Answer ." Xenora hissed. "Why did you co back to this base?"
"Well, it's at my friend's request." Kaine chuckled in a muffled voice. "Ah, too bad, a sadistic personality like yours isn't my type… Hmph!"
Xenora pressed Kaine's face even more into the ground. "Answer my question!!!"
Suddenly a deafening boom echoed from inside Ayre's experint room. The three succubi flew out and landed at Xenora's feet.
"What happened!?" Xenora asked her colleagues, who were trying to get to their feet.
A loud, hoarse laugh rang out, followed by a figure coming out of Ayre's room. His every movent made a tallic creaking sound.
"Ah, it's been a long ti since I walked." The figure spread its arms. His body, which was a set of armor, beca even more solid after being adorned with ripples before. The color of that thing, which previously was dark purple, changed to white with black accents. Then, the holes in the head where the eye should be emitted a light that was also white in color. "This armor is amazing."
Seeing a small blood disk coming towards her chin, Xenora arched her body to dodge. The pressure of her feet on Kaine's head loosened, and the vampire imdiately fled.
However, Xenora swiftly kicked Kaine's leg, forcing the man to fall again.
"Arrghhhh!!!" Kaine scread in pain. The ex-general stepped on the vampire's ankle, causing a terrible crack.
And Xenora didn't do it just once. She made sure that Kaine couldn't get up again. Kaine continued to scream in pain as the succubus continued to trample his legs.
That woman chose not to kill the vampire. Lord Vorn should give punishnt to him directly.
"Kaine!!!" Kayla ca out of the experint room. However, the armored figure caught her by the shoulder so she wouldn't run to the male vampire.
"Are you stupid? They can kill you. Your strength hasn't recovered even after drinking the blood of that virgin, right?" The armored figure pulled Kayla's body.
"Hey, Fergus. I'm running low on mana, and my injuries are pretty bad." Kaine's mouth let out a bitter chuckle. "Can you fight in my stead?"
"You really are useless, even though you are the son of the vampire king. Your abilities are very far from your father's." Fergus raised his right hand slightly, triggering a vortex of light to appear before him.
"That's…." Xenora narrowed her eyes at that vortex on the ground. That's similar to the pocket dinsion portal commonly used by magic users under Vorn's crew.
"Shouldn't we attack now, lady Xenora? While they stand still." One of the succubi proposed.
Xenora shook her head. "Don't be hasty. We don't know what they're doing."
Two giant scythe-like objects erged from the portal, followed by an insect head with large round eyes. Xenora held her breath as the creature fully exited the portal. It was nearly fifteen feet tall, shaped like a praying mantis with a dark green color, and its wings were transparent, similar to those of a dragonfly.
"Spread out!" Xenora gave another order, triggering her three comrades to fly in various directions. She then flew forward.
As soon as the magic portal disappeared, the insect monster swung its scythe arm at the succubus. Xenora could dodge the attacks just fine, but her three companions could barely do it.
Then, the forr general and the other succubus began to counterattack. But the monster's movents were surprisingly agile. He can dodge by flying.
Even so, by continuing to apply pressure, the succubi managed to give several hits to that monster's body.
"Shit. My abilities haven't fully recovered yet. I have a hard ti controlling this monster." Fergus concentrated on moving the summoned monster from afar. So parts of that creature's body are decorated with slash wounds that emit white fluid.
"Then why fight them!" Kayla was getting frustrated. "We better run away!"
"It's not that easy, bitch! I have to beat them first!"
"Reinforcents will co soon!!! If we…."
And Fergus hit the female vampire on the nape, knocking her unconscious. Kaine, crawling on the ground, widened his eyes at that scene.
"What are you doing, fucker!?" Kaine tried to get up but collapsed again due to his crushed leg.
"She's too annoying." Fergus showed no remorse at all.
