Chapter 20: Darkness Monarch’s Covenant (2)

“What if I can make your ability stronger than that gorilla?” Blake spoke, this ti, he made sure he spoke every word loud and clear so that the gorilla didn’t miss even a single word that he had said.
When the gorilla heard Blake’s last sentence, it stopped moving around its body and stared at Blake with all of its attention focused on him.
“Rrrr?” (Can you really do it?)
“Yes. I can make your ability several tis stronger than what it was currently. And you can defeat that gorilla so that you will beco a real, very strong gorilla that won’t lose to anyone ever again. The only thing I want you to do after you defeat the gorilla is to help defeat more creatures. I want to get stronger together with you and evolve together. And later, we could descend to the next realm and beco unimaginably stronger than we are currently now. We can work together and make you the strongest gorilla in existence.”
This ti, the gorilla didn’t give a response right away and once again tried to use its head to process what Blake had said to it.

To make it more convincing for the gorilla, Blake continued,
“Don’t you want to get your revenge? Aren’t you angry that even though you are stronger and faster than that gorilla you still lost because of a re ability that was given upon birth without having to work for it? Don’t you feel it was unfair? You’re supposed to be the winner, and yet, you are beaten down and stepped on by those weaklings! Don’t you rember how that gorilla laughed and smirked at you while its feet were shoved onto your face? Don’t you feel angry? Don’t you want to change that? I am giving you a chance you need to do all that.” Blake spoke as every word that ca out of his mouth was laced with his own emotions, his own feelings that he felt back then when he was in similar shoes as the gorilla.
“The choice is in your hands, whether you want to stay beaten down like this, or you want to rise up together with and beco the strongest you’ll ever be, it’s your choice.”
The silence stayed for about a whole minute before the gorilla looked into Blake’s eyes once again and finally spoke,
“Rrr.” (I want to beco the strongest. I accept your offer.)
The mont the gorilla gave its answer, the two creatures were ejected from the void of consciousness as they returned to their own respective bodies.
They blinked at each other a couple of tis before Blake raised his right hand.
“Nice to et you, Robus, let’s start getting along with each other.”
The gorilla didn’t know what Blake’s hand was doing, but it assud that it should do the sa and also raised its right hand to et Blake’s.
And a few monts after they shook hands with each other, they suddenly felt the nether inside their body start fluctuating on their own. And along with the movent of the nether inside their body, the runes that were in the middle of the gorilla’s chest glowed before new runes were added around the original rune, while on Blake’s side, the change was more drastic as he suddenly saw new demonic runes were carved onto the middle of his chest, near his original runes on his left chest.
At first, he wondered what demonic runes might be appearing on his body, but after the runes were only halfway completed, Blake had already recognized what kind of runes they were as he had seen them before, and it was the exact sa runes that were found on the gorilla’s chest.
And another minute change that he didn’t recognize was that his pitch-black eyes that didn’t have any color in them had suddenly gained a dot of brown in the middle of his pupils, the sa color of brown as the earth beneath his feet.
However, the change that was happening to the two creatures didn’t stop at just the runes on their bodies.
The mont the new runes finished forming, their bodies were the next that received a change. The gorilla received a massive change as its whole body started getting a few shades darker than it originally was as the brownish furs and skin started changing into dark brown starting from the top of its head to the tip of its toes.
While on the other hand, Blake received less visible change, and instead, he felt his whole body shiver for a few seconds before he felt a sense of power and sturdiness co from his body, sothing that he had never felt in his body before.
And it turned out not to be only his imagination as when Blake touched his body all over, he felt his muscles were bulkier than before and his jet black skin that used to be not too different from his supple human skin had beco noticeably sturdier than they used to be. His claws that he rarely used had also felt like steel as they felt way firr than before.
And of course, after feeling such a major change in his body, Blake checked his status page right away.

(Earth Ape Demon) Dark Earth Armor
A variation of earth armor that had received a massive amount of darkness elent. On top of the ordinary protection, you get from the original earth armor, the darkness elent would also enhance the defensive capability by absorbing so of the elents that were thrown into the armor to reinforce itself.
